A magnificent culinary experience (we coincidentally got the "experience" set menu; 2 set menus "presentation" 6 course and "experience" 8 course). The food was amazing! We could see and taste the thought and care that the team put into crafting each plate. It really combined Chef Balbi's Argentinian and Japanese styles and the quality of the ingredients were top notch. I also liked the touch with pictures (with a description on the back), it gave more context to the dishes we were experiencing and also a little puzzle to solve while eating. We also got the "not just wine" pairing and the sake, cider, and wines were a great accompaniment to the food; we really enjoyed the variety of it. The whole service team was fantastic, constantly being aware if a glass was finished or they always took the finished plates together as a team. They were incredible in providing the description of the dishes and drinks. I also appreciate that they do mention and care for (in terms of donating via NPO) the local farmers, trying to help them produce better food. I only have great things to say about this experience and would love to visit again!

Absolutely wonderful experience! Food - if I can give 6 out of 5 stars - would do so. Great fusion of Argentinian & Japanese that has just the right balance. Service was also spot on - great reco from the sommelier and Francesca was v helpful in explaining the menu throughout the evening. Overall amazing experience.

Amazing dinner, everything tasted very good. The menu was very well adjusted to my specific diet/requirements. Service was perfect too. Definitely recommended. One of the best in HK for sure.

Ando maintains its high standard providing cuisine with multiple influences. To start, the breads together with the condiments are definitely a treat. Brioche was gone at the day I visited, yet the replacing poppy seed bread is equally interesting. Seaweed butter was not there too but I found the tomato butter rather refreshing. Cured Fish is always one of the highlights. The dish seems like a Japanese one but at the same time not limited to Japanese flavors, and this works surprisingly well to bring out the characteristics of different fishes. Beef with pepper is an interesting dish that you have a beef dish where the beef is not the main focus, but rather a support to the very flavorful pepper. Mind tricked. Caldoso Rice here needs no introduction. Absolutely sensational. Snow Crab for the day of visit. They have an abundant varieties for wine pairing especially for dinner menu.

Pleasant lunch but they left out the drink order for my partner’s non alcoholic drinks pairing so he ended up having 2 drinks instead of 3 according to the menu😅 He was not impressed 😅 otherwise food is great! But if you are looking for wow factor this may not be the top choice. Quite overpriced for lunch. Love the bread basket, highlight of the meal!

Consistently one of the best dining experiences in HK. Dining few times a year, we see the variation in the menu the retains the best signature elements while building in seasonal variations. The bread selection is a simple celebration. The seafood selection is varied and outstanding. The service is impeccable and the wine pairing option is an experience not to be missed. Outstanding!

An impressively creative tour of tastes and textures in the Spanish-Japanese fusion menu with an interesting wine/sake pairing available. Beef tartare with caviar, the grandmother rice and calamari stew and a flight of sashimi were memorable. Enthusiastic service.

What to say? It’s a Michelin-starred restaurant. Ando is a Japanese-Argentinian fusion that serves excellent food. It tends to be seafood-heavy, and every part of the experience was immaculate when we went, to the point that it’s hard to describe. Highlights include deep flavors, including kombu cream with crab and caviar, or squid and chorizo arroz caldoso. Overall we found the staff charming and accommodating and the entire meal superb.

We went there on a foodie friend's recommendation. Our expectations were fully met. We really enjoyed our experience. The chef was very nice to come out to say goodbye at the door in Japanese style.

The food is simply delightful, scrumptious and fresh. Staff is attentive. Since we needed to drive and I can’t have alcohol, my husband had a nonalcoholic pairing. Very lovely! The food amount is good for man as well. I love the caldoso rice! Finally we found a hidden gem in the city! Ando deserves the 2nd stars to be honest. Hope that they can keep the standard :) we will come back for our anniversary and more!

The whole experience FROM and TO was great. The attention and care of the staff, the smile and charisma of the chef. We celebrated my birthday, I 100% recommend this restaurant for any occasion. The 6-course set is very interesting, tasty and filling. I will definitely come back and recommend to all my friends.

Our hostess/waitress Hedy is excellent. Very attentive, friendly, helpful, warm and genuine; yet remains very professional. Food is creative and tasty, with beautiful presentation. Will come back.

Excellent for anything, but the bread is quite difficult to finish along and they use the same sauce for the Argentine beef and the rice.

The restaurant itself is not that big, situated in an old tiny building. The culinary experience was nice and playful, the food was good even though some of the dishes were nothing so special for the amount of money that you pay. Simply expected a little bit more from a Michelin star restaurant.

Overall good food, but poor business ethics. First the food: it's original and enjoyable (well presented, refined and nice japanese fusion type). I would however concur with some reviews that it's not completely on par with the price. It could be either more special, or cheaper. It is anyway an enjoyable experience and the chef is clearly talented. What ruined the evening was the pretty shady idea of "offering" some Champaign on arrival (like many high end places do) without specifying that you'd have to pay for it. I am not a Champaign drinker, but thought "Fine, why not if it's part of the dinner". Just to find out I had been billed 700HKD for a glass for me and my guest. It's expensive for an average Champaign. Especially when you didn't ask for it. And even more when you're not someone who enjoys drinking Champaign. I don't think I should have had to ask whether it was complimentary or not. Not in a high end place. It's obviously a bad business practice, and a red flag for me when you try to sneakily squeeze that extra but from your customer. There are lots of excellent places in Hong Kong that for the same price provide a better experience. You won't see me back. It's too bad, because the food was actually enjoyable.

Definitely the BEST restaurant in Hong Kong or even Asia (and in my heart!) ❤️ Awesome food and top-notch service! Love that they always went over and above to ensure that we had the best dining experience - feeling very touched! Would give Ando 10 stars out of five! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️*2 😍(if that’s possible)

Visited in July for my father birthday. I love that Andō is such an intimate restaurant, we can clearly see the chef working in the open kitchen! And thank you so much for the lovely birthday card from the Andō team! This make it such an special memory! The food is amazing of course! And I especially love the Caldoso rice dish “Sin Lola” and the meaning behind it is so beautiful! After my trip to Iceland🇮🇸 and Italy🇮🇹 and visited so many wonderful restaurants along my way. I increasingly appreciate the hard work behind the scene and how the Chef’s journey shaped and contributed to the experience presented in front of you.

Ando now is one of my favorite restaurant in HK. After the dinner I have no doubt Why it got one star so quickly. It definitely won’t disappoint you ( at least four of us) One thing I really appreciate is, the story and the thought behind the whole menu. There is soul behind every dishes. Booking need to be made a month ago. But it worths all the wait! I love they cook the Japanese ingredients in a different way. The steamed diāo with Romesco sauce is super. Love it. The bread they used was bakehouse hk which is nice to support local business. The dessert is so pretty but also quite special. Definitely recommend. We also got little something to take home with after the dinner. Such a lovely gesture! Thank you team for looking after us

Spanish- Japanese fusion . Tried the tasting lunch menu (around hkd 1000 per person before service charge). Food and service is good but the coffee ( got charged additional 100 ) is so so.

Our experience at Ando was outstanding, best meal we had in a long time. All in all the experience was incredible with lots of details, from the welcome bites, to the special menu cards, to the cutlery and to the whole set up in general and even at the end as we were leaving we got a cake to bring home for breakfast as the chef waive us good bye at the elevator. We had dined in many great restaurants in Asia and Europe and based in our experience today, I will not be surprised if this place gets 2 Michelin stars soon. Will highly recommend this place to anyone who loves fine food, please note that took us a while to secure a booking, so book in advance.

I would give 5 stars to my first visit for all the Spanish-oriented dishes (when the restaurant just opened), but only 3 for this visit because the dishes became more of a Western-Japanese blend, which makes it extremely common in HK. I used to think I could return once every 6 months because Spanish-Japanese is new in HK, and the chef did it perfectly by focusing on the Spanish elements; but after this visit, it’s just hard to return because the menu became so dull. I’m glad they still keep the granny-inspired rice because that’s the spirit I used to love about this restaurant (and it’s mouth-watering too). Don’t get me wrong, each and every dish was still delicious, I’m just really disappointed about their change (I noticed it’s no longer being described as Spanish-Japanese, but Argentinian-Japanese). The one thing that really and still stands out is their dessert. Refreshing dessert that came with the set, followed by petite four trolley with little sweets that’s not too sweet (they sort of blend bitter and/or sour with the sweetness)!
