Beautiful and clean Information Center and rest spot. So glad we stopped to learn about the desert, and also visit the store to pick up a few items. We walked on the elevated walkway outside and saw a large snake below us. Such an interesting place to visit and a lovely, scenic, 13-mile drive.

Be sure to bring your National Parks pass if you have one or you will have to pay to get in. Not crowded. Easy drive with many places to pull off and view the scenery. You can also take short hikes. BRING WATER! Each stop has a toilet. Nice easy drive on a one way road. Well worth the visit.

Came here for a 4 day rock climbing trip and it was a blast. I absolutely love the rock here. Very grippy. So many routes of all grades and styles. Some walls are close to parking and some are a nice hike in. Something for every rock climber. Good for hikers as well. The scenic drive loop is annoying though since it is one way so plan your day accordingly when you visit.

A one-way, loop road, 13 miles (21 km) long, provides vehicle access to many of the features in the area. It was an incredible ride. It has several side roads and parking areas that allow access to many of the area trails. A very nice visitor center and it is at the start of the loop road. It has many hiking trails, I was hiking Caliro Tank and Caliro Hill. I loved it, I would like to come back if I'm in the Vegas area.

Reserve your time-entry pass in advance. If you have the annual National Park Pass, entry is free, but you will still need to reserve a timed-entry slot. If you have a 1/2 or a full day to spare, you can embark on a short trail. There are several trails to choose from. If trails are your thing, I recommend you book a room so you can recover after an exhausting day. You can plan which trail suits you. The scenic drive is 13 miles long, with several stops to choose from. If you want to coast along the scenic drive only, you can easily spend 2-3+ hours if you make frequent stops for photos. Recommended if you are in Las Vegas for first-time visitors.

Even if you already know where you're going, it's worthwhile to make a short stop at the visitor center. People over there are super helpful and they have a lot of resources available (detailed maps, posters about the wildlife). The view from within the visitor center over Red Rock is amazing. The only downside is that all restrooms were out of order when we visited (October 2022). There are restrooms at the next stop along the scenic road (only takes a couple of minutes), but those don't have running water.

If you have the time do the driving trail!!! Such a beautiful drive with tons and tons of photo ops all throughout it. It's about 10 miles so you can take it as fast or as slow as you want to. There's bathroom facilities throughout the whole place and lots of viewpoints to stop and see. It's a little outside LV but definitely worth seeing. Tons of hiking also when it's not 120 degrees like it was when i was visiting.

Great get away from the crazy strip just a short 30 minutes away. So peaceful here and great opportunity to learn about the desert and the wildlife here. If you are a veteran you get free access.

wonderful scenic drive away from the city. despite it being 20 mph speed limit generally people were driving around 30 to 35 which seems silly because you are supposed to enjoy the scenery over 13 miles instead of zooming through. I would definitely recommend a trip if you have the time. round trip is about 2 to 3 hours from the strip depending on how fast you drive.

The most informative and well designed visitor center I've been to...anywhere! We could've stayed there learning about the rich history and geological wonders all day. And the vista... just awe-inspiring! Highly recommend!

We went to the Red Rock Canyon visitor center in December 2022. It is a nice place. Restrooms were clean. There are different price options to cover the 13 miles trail to explore the gorgeous Red RockCanyon. If in Nevada, please, do check out the Red Rock Canyon. Stop by at the visitor center for reading about the Mojave desert, seeing some cool memorabilia, learning about history. The trail is awesome. We did the car option but we saw people hiking by foot. bicycle and motorcycle. For the car option we paid $17.00 for the trail.

Honestly, it was a great experience. If you love nature and are not afraid of heights, then this is the place to be. *Fair warning* Bring lots of water. You can definitely get dehydrated very quickly and be very cautious of wildlife. 😇🙏

I love this place and I visit it every time I visit las Vegas! I was very happy to see all the additional recreation areas, very nice and beautiful. I was enchanted with the tortoises! Walking and hiking can be very hot but it is so amazing that makes it worth it! I just love driving through it! Fascinating!!!

National conservation area. It was 109 the day we were there, so limited trail use. Petraglphs, wildlife viewing. Nice scenic drive, lots of trails, but be ready to self rescue, NO CELL SERVICE.

My husband and I had such a wonderful time exploring the visitor center. Although we did not participate in the guided tour we walked ourselves through the gallery and educated ourselves on the local wildlife. After we spent some time to appreciate all of the trinkets and handmade goods in the giftshop. We took a drive through the canyons deciding on which trails we'd like to hike while taking in the scenic views. Not only are there many trails to choose from, the best part is they range in length or duration, difficulty, route, and elevation. So it's accommodating to the experienced and non experienced hiker. I highly recommend visiting. You will not be disappointed. Such a beautiful area!

Beautiful spot to visit... remember your national park pass works here. There is no need to pay the $20 fee to do the Scenic drive... but you do need to reserve a time slot Nov - May.

We took a day trip here from Vegas, it was about a 30-40 minute drive. I highly recommend the intragency annual pass if you plan on checking out other national parks. The views are amazing, with many pullovers to take everything in.

Great info to do start your trek. The information people were full of useful information and suggestions about must see stops. The trails were great, too. Just bring lots of water. It was a cool day (90-95F) but 1.5 liters of water for 3 hours was inadequate.

If you are coming to Vegas for the weekend you must get off the strip to come see this place. It is absolutely beautiful out there and there is places to walk around on the trails and be able to explore and get up closer to the mountains. We typically go on the weekend and there is a good amount of people there but you don’t really see that many people because it’s that big and it’s truly a must see to be able to experience those mountains that close.

Great place to stop and educate yourself about the history, features, and factoids about Red Rock Canyon before driving the scenic route, walking the trails, climbing etc. The volunteers are helpful, knowledgeable, and committed to informing and exciting the public about all the park has to offer. If you're fortunate, you'll get to meet the resident tortoises, Max, Roxanne and others. Be sure to consult the info window where the volunteer can give you helpful advice on which trails/stops to visit/explore depending upon what interests you and how much time you. Will definitely come back, as the rock formations and many trails at Calico I & II by themselves are enough to fill your day.

The drive here is great, along with scenic views and almost 20 miles drive with in the park, that has few spots where we can stop, park and go for a hike, take photos. Staff at visiting center are friendly, helpful and funny. They are willing to help, share all the details about the drive and park. Weekdays are more relaxing to visit than the packed weekends.

Beautiful.. plan a whole day and my sure to stop by the visitor center and do the scenic loop!! Great spots to the park, and everything is well marked. It's a great day adventure, and you won't see it all! Picnic areas throughout . Different vibes at every pull off! Make sure you get a time entry pass online before you go

Great place to hike, walk trails and look at fabulous scenery. If you get to the gate before 0800 local time, no reservations required. We had senior & military passes so we got in for free, otherwise there is an entry fee.

This is so beautiful. I was recommended to come here by a coworker and it was worth it. My friend and I drove the scenic road and stopped at every parking lot to get out and take pictures. We were not prepared for hiking so we did not do much of that. We would definitely remember to do so, next time though!

Have not been visited Red Rock Canyon for over 10 years. It was my third visit. Great improvement compared to before. But now you need to pay to get in say $20 per car as it is the National Park now. Many nice upgrades and traffic control making the visit a lot more safe and enjoyable. In the old days you have multiple directions traffic and tough to cross the road due to speeding car from both side. Now it is a one way loop. So much better and safer for family and children and seniors. Enjoyable visit with lots of trails to choose from. Great service at the centre. Staff was very helpful. Just tell them a bit about group and how much time you have. They will recommend some hikes and where to stop etc. worthy the stop and pick up a trail map and get some recommendations. Plus nice WC and water fountain at the parking area. Highly recommended

Wow. Indians have such a way about naming locations. Like Red Rock. Because it is a Giant Red Rock. Absolutely stunning. This hike is for the mobile and fit. The climb is totally worth ascending to the top and looking out over the entirety of Las Vegas. A great site seeing adventure alternative to walking the streets of Vegas. Where the desert meets the strip.

Beautiful place close to the strip. If you want to hike before you go, download the Avenza app. Then stop at the visitor center and you can scan the trail maps because you will not have cell service or you can drive the scenic route. We stopped at the first trail which was a bit busy. There are plenty of trails and wish we would have saved some energy for some others.

Spectacular and breathtaking. I have a veterans national park card and it only cost $2 for my carload to get in. I think the regular price is $20... and totally worth it! You do need to make reservations.

The experience of this location is amazing. I've climbed all over the red rocks and always have some of the best times and views! There's a one way trail, so hit the gift shop first if you want to. An absolute must stop for trail lovers ⛰️

scenic 13 mile drive, long and short walk I ng hiking trails. Admission varies, but 20 per car is well worth the experience.

Just outside the Las Vegas metroplex is this beautiful natural wonder. There are plenty of hiking opportunities. The road has numerous spots for photos. The desert landscape has plenty of wildlife. When I was there I saw desert tortoise and wild burros. You will need sunscreen due to limited cover. Also bring adequate amount of water. Pace yourself through this natural preserve. I recommend 2 to 3 hours and to choose early morning or late afternoon to go hiking.

I love Red Rock Canyon and the visitor’s center is right at home there. Unique and interesting items in the gift shop, beautiful panoramic windows in the main room that overlook the mountains, and helpful staff all in a relaxing environment. Thank you RRC!

Though if you are visiting Las Vegas, you would only be focused on strip and casinos, but this is a good day time excursion. Take the drive and see the red rocks and the desert. You will not find any animals or birds but a good way to kill a day time. Need couple of hours.

A must stop before you embark on the scenic drive! When passing the entrance fee station, just make a slight right and then a slight left when driving. Went on a weekday, so not too many people and plenty of parking here as well as restroom facilities. You can't miss the spectacular panoramic views of the red rocks from the indoor glass window viewing area, it's like a mural painting! Don't forget to check out the gift shop for some nice souvenirs!

A very neat and interactive visitor center! Lots of information on the area and extensive exhibits showcasing everything from terrain to wildlife in the canyon. Seemingly plenty of parking when I went so shouldn't be something to worry about ( the place was quite busy when I was there as far as pedestrian traffic) Definitely recommend!

For being right at the doorstep of Vegas, this area is AMAZING. The visitor center has incredible, informative and educational displays. The views and vista's you get from the centers location are amazing. Rangers to help you plan your trip, movies about the geological area and wildlife and a very good gifts hop filled with reasonably priced items to purchase. The bathrooms were clean, lots of parking and good accessibility for those who have mobility issues.
