Great park with something for everyone in the family. Big play area with lots to keep kids entertained for a long time. Good spread of lawns and beautiful pond with lovely ducks. Toilets were very clean too. The parking though can be difficult to find which isn't necessarily a bad thing as it limits the no. of people at any given time.

Very good play area for children, the section for little ones is separate. includes adult fitness area. Small lake complete with lots of swans and ducks when I visited. Finally, there's an excellent cake and coffee shop (vintage bird cage) which usually has a sit down area, but not during the lockdown.

Great Park for both young kids and teens, we had a great time. We'll maintained grassy areas which were great for a game of football. Would definitely recommend

Great Park to stroll round but the centre piece is the large playground. Suitable for 2 years old up to teenagers. Nice lake you are able to walk round with an ambundance of life

Small, beautiful, award winning park, a popular space and great example of how a town park can really work for a community with a lovely pond, play area, exercise equipment and an adjoining pub and cafe. Limited parking, but only a short walk from Yate shopping centre parking which gives a few hours free. Though ensure you don't over stay if parking there. It's a suprisngly lovely space for all the family to enjoy.

Lovely park! Good amount of space, you'll find various children's play facilities, toilets, an ice cream van (weather dependent), plenty of fallen trees for kids to climb on and hills to roll down - as well as a small manmade stream area for kids to paddle in. There's a large lake with swans and ducks, and if you're needing refreshments, there's a pub and a coffee shop at one side. Not sure if there's an official car park but we managed to find somewhere free on one of the side streets.

Lovely park with a big play area for children. Nature area. It has a small lake with various birds e.g. ducks and swans. Large grassy areas for picnics. Mature trees provide shade in grassy areas if needed. No dedicated parking so you will need to find on street parking near one of the entrances.

A nice little park with a play area, pond or two and outdoor gym stations, among other things. Has a great carved tree trunk with some really detailed work. 👍 Toilets available by a small car park.

Nice park for the kids to play in, large duck pond and an open air gym. There are often events here like a free Easter egg hunt every year.

The kids love it here. Plenty to keep them occupied. There is often an ice cream van on site, so make sure you have money on you. Great way to treat the grandchildren.

Nice park. Really good play equipment for all ages. A duck pond, green areas for football, paths for scootering along. Tables for picnics. Toilets not great that's the only down side.

Great place in the middle of Yate, I expect it would be even nicer when the sun is out. Hard to park though unless you are visiting the pub or cafe

Ideal, safe location, very popular with families, large play area, picnic tables, lots of seating, large duck pond with plenty of wildlife, variety of trees to provide shade. Local cafe just a few mins walk from the Park itself, excellent food, cakes, coffee and tea, always full. Well worth a trip as a family

I visit the park each day & enjoy the walk & people walking their dogs. At the moment watching the swans as the parents are trying to get the last two to fly away. It's such a shame, one got outside park yesterday but someone managed to get it back.

Nice park, you can walk around the small lake full of ducks and swans. Playground for older and younger kids is great. Would visit often. You can park for free at the parks car park or you can park by the Birdcage cafe but you have to purchase a drink and enter your car registration into their tab. They have toilets which is handy.

I recently visited the Kingsgate Park and I must say, it was an absolutely delightful experience. The park was well-maintained and had a serene atmosphere which was perfect for a peaceful stroll. The lush greenery and the chirping birds added to the overall charm of the place. The park has a wide variety of facilities for people of all ages. There are swings, slides, and other play structures for children, while adults can enjoy a game of basketball or simply relax on the benches. The park also offers several walking trails for those who want to enjoy a leisurely walk or jog. One of the highlights of my visit was the beautiful pond that the park had. It was teeming with different types of fish and ducks, and it was a joy to watch them swim around. The park also had a small waterfall that added to the picturesque setting. The park's cleanliness was commendable, and I didn't see any trash lying around. The park staff seemed to be doing a great job of maintaining the park, and they were always ready to help visitors with any queries. The park's location is also a plus point, as it is easily accessible and has ample parking space. It's a great place to spend some quality time with family and friends, and I'm sure I'll be visiting it again soon. Overall, my experience at the local park was fantastic, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable outing.

Great park. Pity some are not abiding to the guide lines For number of people. 4 couples and children in a one group. Well done who ever you are. Dont moan when the if the lockdown becomes more strict. You're the ones that are going to help bring on the second wave of the pandemic. Should not be in large groups.

Lovely park and open space something for everyone

Been going to this park for many, many decades! There's isn't anywhere to match it for many miles. If I had to moan about anything it would be about the state of the footpath around the lake, very dire in places! It's not a problem in the summer as you can walk on the grass but come winter the path has several "ponds"to cross!!! That said it's still a fabulous park for all, one of the best!

Nature is beautiful. It's such a shame I was so busy before lockdown to realise it ?

Love this Park, something to suit all the family. Love the new workout suite!! Always nice to get a cuppa in the Bird Cage cafe nearby. Kids love the climbing structures.

A lovely park in Yate. A pond and walks. Open till 5pm during COVID.

It's a park. Has trees and a pond, and the swans are not aggressive. Sometimes there's an ice cream van. However chances are that if you've been sad for a while, you'll probably still be sad when you get there. Worth a shot

This is a lovely near-by park, where me and my friends have been going for a little hang out. The park is massive and has areas for younger and older children. Glad we have this park near-by!

Beautifully kept by the local authorities and the 'Friends' of Kingsgate Park. Lovely lakes with ducks, swans, moorhens, coots etc. Newts are plentiful too. There are good quality well-maintained children's play areas for different age groups. Parking is scattered around the residential area. The Stanshawe's Court Hotel (pub and facilities establishment) is adjacent. A gorgeous historic building perfect for a drink and/or a bite to eat with regular special offers. Dogs are allowed but must be leashes and cleaned up after; plentiful dog-waste bins provided.

    Awesome

  • 4/5 John C. 3 years ago on Google
Good play areas for both younger and older children. However, in these strange times of social distancing there were too many people and children in the play areas for us to feel comfortable. It was nice seeing the family of swans on the lake and the ice cream van was taking contactless payments, so not a complete waste of time!
