Wow - My friend and I were both very pleasantly surprised with our visit to The Rose and Crown in Wick. It's become a bit of a standing joke that everywhere we seem to visit for a meal ends up being some sort of disaster BUT NOT THIS TIME! Upon arrival we were greeted by a roaring open fire which made the bar feel warm and cozy and a very friendly young man welcomed us and offered to take a drinks order before showing us to our seats. The pub was busy, which is always an indication of what it's like, especially as our visit was on a Wednesday lunchtime. There was a lovely atmosphere and the place was nicely decorated and furnished which gave a great aesthetic. After being shown to our table, a super friendly waitress (I think from her accent that she may have hailed from somewhere in Eastern Europe) brought over the menus and told us that a couple of dishes had been very popular so were no longer available. This wasn't an issue as the menu had plenty of things to choose from and after deliberation, our orders were placed. We had starters, mains and desserts and enjoyed every single mouthful! The food arrived in good time, was well presented, plentiful, tasted delicious and my friend and I thoroughly enjoyed it. A special mention for the sticky toffee pudding which was so delicious, and probably one of the nicest which I've ever eaten. All in all we were so pleased with our visit and really enjoyed ourselves. The parking was easy, the staff were lovely, the food was amazing and we will definitely be back plus I've recommended the place already to family and friends.

The food quality and choice and drinks were good. We had a lovely meal. Good bar and table service. The establishment could do with a small makeover, the table we were on looked worn out, maybe the sun had stripped most of the varnish off. We knew it had been cleaned but looked unappealing to eat from. It may have been just our table in the window. That said, we had a lovely meal.

Went for the Burns night menu as we'd been looking for somewhere celebrating Burns night. The food was delicious and there was plenty of it with 4 courses. Emma, our waitress was really friendly and happy to accommodate our son who wanted the normal menu and to mix and match from the children's and adults menus. We loved our evening there and will be back soon..

Excellent meals, we all had something different and each of us enjoyed, along with puddings too. Some specials on the board worth looking at. Service was slow due to less staff but friendly and attentive. Glad we booked in online the night before.

I was chatting to a friend today and asked if there were any nice places to eat out their way? He suggested the #RoseandCrown @ Wick. Our morning had quickly slipped away from us, so we headed straight to the Pub for lunch. As soon as we arrived we were in love with the place. The wild garden near the car park, the decor as soon as you enter. Watch your head, and you are told this while being shown to our table by a lovely hostess. Our food was amazing- we are waiting for desserts and coffee. Definitely recommend an hour or 2 of your life to pop in here. Noise is low which is fabulous.

Six of us had a lovely pre Christmas meal from the festive menu, Turkey mains with all the trimmings and xmas puds to finish. The pub was very busy but that's quite often a good sign. the food and service were very good. Top marks to all the staff. We have been here a couple of times before, and it's always been good.

Visiting from the U.S. Needed to grab some dinner after a long day of sightseeing. Not many places still serving food on a Sunday after 5pm. We found Rose & Crown on Google and they were still serivng dinner! Yay! We had the nicest server Emma! She was efficient, kind and warm. The food was delicious as well! Adorable place, great atmosphere, wonderful staff! Highly recommend!

The service was poor, the meal came first, we had to remind them about drinks. It seemed more important to lay tables than serve us. The roast sirloin was obviously warmed up, it had that warmed up taste. Have less choice and raise quality.

Such a beautiful building, the history envelopes you. Warm, friendly and efficient staff. ***** for including a traditional Sunday lunch for vegetarians, this is quite often missing from some places. Food was delicious. We will definitely be back. Thank you

We couldnโ€™t be bothered to cook and the kids wanted a roast. The rose and crown, whilst particularly dangerous for the taller person, was cosy, the service was quick, and the food was just what was needed. Weโ€™ve been several times and will continue to go back. Itโ€™s good value and the food is always on point! Just remember to duck, something my 6ft 2 tall son seems to always forget.

Had a brilliant meal here a couple of weeks ago. I had the veggie roast and it was delicious! The meals were generously portioned too. The atmosphere is cosy and warm. I would recommend highly!

Meal came out too quickly, obviously not cooked fresh . Warm food , not hot. Cold in the restaurant , always have to keep your coats on .

Charming pub with character. The food is fantastic and served quickly. They have a very good selection of wines, cocktails and mocktails. Dog friendly in the front bar area so we had lunch there which was comfortable enough for a lunch and a drink. The restaurant area looked great so we are returning in a few week without our pup.

Had the worst cut of steak Iโ€™ve ever had which was undercooked and had to send it back. Thankfully, my partner had a great meal. Staff were lovely, but it was very busy and service was quite slow. Previous positive experiences, now somewhat tarnished which is a shame as itโ€™s a lovely place to go.

Stunning little pub, really ancient, must be about 17th century in parts? Absolutely delicious food. Everything super tasty but the puddings blew me away. Will 100% return

Called in today (19/6) without a booking hoping for Sunday lunch. Male staff members laughed in my face and rudely took great delight in telling me it wasn't going to happen without a booking. I appreciate it was Father's Day but this was quite early in the day and there was plenty of empty tables inside and out. Won't be going there ever again!

Such a lovely pub. EVERYTHING was perfect from the impeccable service to the stylish, yet rustic, decor. We were warmly welcomed as soon as we entered and the food was delicious. We chose the fish and chip and the lasagne. Salivatingly good!! Neither of us left a crumb. The staff delivered an excellent level of service. Perfectly attentive, polite and friendly. We enjoyed our meal immensely.
