Phone appointment to discuss medicine I've been on for years. The Gp in questions why I'm taking them. Obviously didn't bother to look at my records and almost refused the medication. Wow, customer service skills none. No bedside manner. Train your gps to deal with with patients without making them feel ashamed.

I have lived all over UK, and this is the absolute worst medical centre I have ever had to deal with. You cannot get through to them over the phone because the line is most of the time “engaged” (so it doesn’t even connect to the automated switchboard). If you do get through, the wait is at least an hour. Calling in the morning is a waste of time, I never got through to anyone. If you walk in they say that it cannot be true (what?) and you have to call to make an appointment. For an appointment such a coil removal, there is literally only 1 member of staff able to do that who doesn’t have appointments (??), so you just have to “keep trying”, but then you cannot get through and on it goes. The staff at the front desk are rude, and try to gaslight you if they made a mistake or if there is clearly an internal problem, treating you like you are a capricious child, you don’t get even a sorry. If you want a letter from the GP, you will wait for weeks both for the letter or a response from their admin staff. There seems to be 0 urgency to attending to patients in every respect I’ve come across over the last 2 years. It’s almost like it is intentionally made either incredibly difficult or incredibly stressful and unpleasant to prevent patients from accessing care.

Absolutely bloody awful, I don't even know where to begin. I'm making a formal complaint to the practice manager. Complete lack of care and professionalism. Rude and snotty staff, 2 hour wait on the phone to get through to reception, son given the wrong medication, the list goes on. Please save yourself and your family, do not join this surgery.

The worst surgery I have ever been under! Would not prescribe my son his inhaler as we were new to the area and they have not prescribed it. So I booked an appointment where I did not receive a phone call to carry out the his Asthma review appointment. Booked another appointment and yet again have not received a telephone called to carry out his Asthma review. Only can get hold of them by going into the surgery. Getting through on the telephone is impossible even calling 100+ times. Today I had a telephone appointment to change some medication. I missed the call as I was on the school run, now they won’t carry out the appointment. Other surgery’s that carry out telephone appointments call at least twice if you don’t answer the first time and if you call back they will speak to you. Now I have to wait another two weeks to get a new appointment. I already waited two weeks for today’s appointment! Absolutely shocking service worst patient care I have come across. I work in the NHS and this surgery isn’t run well at all! When going into the surgery the receptionist were on their phones having a jolly! There is no care at all. I feel for the vulnerable and elderly who need urgent care and can’t get through on the telephone and have no way of walking to the surgery!

Fairly new to the area and this it the nearest GP I can find. My experience with this surgery is also a terrible one, from rude reception staff to locum doctors who were rude unprofessional and dismissive saying that they could not help me I was wasting their time and then hang up on me. Never be able to get an appointment for months. Reception even told that doctors are no longer seeing patient if it's not in serious conditions. The whole medical center is a joke and I wish I can vote no star here. I would not recommend this surgery and have since changed to another one.

The practice is a disgrace it's not the staff or doctors they are over worked and need more staff there, but they don't answer the phones you call to make appointment and they are all taken or call back from doctor and that's all full and this is all first thing in the morning when you are told to ring. The system is a joke and is failing patients and putting peoples health at risk. Because of this I am now moving myself and my son from this practice to somewhere where you can be seen or even to talk to a doctor or a nurse. For all new patients I wouldn't join this practice.

They rarely answer there phones! It's almost impossible to get an appointment for over a month! They say they've changed the way appointments are done well clearly not because it's still an awful system! Literally waiting more than 10 mins to even talk to a receptionist. This is not acceptable. Sort it out.

Can't book an appointment. Phone line cuts off and when I went in to ask for one, the reception staff was dismissive and refused to book me one. I was told to either go to a minor injury unit or A&E if it was an emergency. I complained she was fobbing me off and she stood up and shouted at me. I was complaining of cardiovascular concerns and didn't need the stress. I'm disgusted. Time to find a new GP.

Basically impossible to get appointments. You are on the phone waiting to book and appointment longer then when you are actually able to speak to a doctor. I have also found that they clearly either don't use my recoders or do not have my accurate one as I have had to constantly repeat my permanent conditions and disabilities. Also when it come to if you have more then one issue you CANT talk about more then one in a sitting. Even if you tell the receptions that this is the cause they will still only give you one appointment for more then one thing then when your appointment actually happens the doctor will refuse to speak about anything else.

Incredibly rude reception staff and unhelpful. I quote some of their replies ‘not my problem’, ‘it’s just the way it is’, ‘I didn’t get your daughter sick so not my problem’. Also, it’s probably the only GP in the country that do phone examination for kids under 5 years old. Our one year old daughter had fever and a rash on her face. Typical symptoms of StrepA. Despite the scandals on the news with how dangerous StrepA was. They gave us a phone consultation and asked us to send pictures of the rash. As expected, they said to give her paracetamol and keep her at home. A couple of days later we went to the emergency. StrepA caused a big infection that needed to be removed surgically and initial assessment says that this left her permanent hearing loss on one of her ear. It was super stressful and don’t wish any parent to go through this. StrepA is easily treated with antibiotics if detected on time. We feel that this could have been avoided if they had actually seen our daughter. I beg this GP to stop giving phone consultation to children who cannot speak and say what hurts.

doctors and nurses generally okay, but very terrible service otherwise. in the last 6 months the administration team have messed up on 3 occasions, causing a lot of stress and further health issues to my elderly parents. I understand staff shortages, but incompetency like this is not acceptable - other practices we have been to have been very professional.

Disgusting way to be treated as a mental health patient. I recently had no choice to swap my doctors to somewhere local… biggest mistake ever. The reception women was stuck up her own, her attitude immediately changed from the person in front to me. This has really upset set and has made me feel awful. I wouldn’t sign up here if I’d red the reviews first

If you are looking for a surgery where you can gain an appointment within a 4 week window this is not the place to register! 5 months pregnant and my child has chicken pox. 111 had sent over a note to say I needed an emergency blood test to determine if I was immune. They do not answer the phones so I queued from 8am to gain an appointment to be told regardless of 111 advice they had no appointments and I would need to go to hospital to be seen! You can understand why there is such a strain on our A&E dept when such poor advice is being given. They are continuing to accept new patients when they are already exceeding their patient capacity and beyond! So sad to see a surgery that once was efficient and put patients first struggling so badly.

Impossible to get through to speak to someone, staff is hit & miss, busier talking in the back office than actually attending at the front desk, if it wasn't the only available place here I'd never go back! Understaffed or wrongly staffed.

I've had issues with the service of this surgery in the past. However, on this occassion, which has driven me to write a bad review is due to the result that I waited an 1hr and 5 mins to get through to reception just for them to send me an invitation to push doctor ("The no.1 online medical consultacy in the country"). I then schedule a same day appointment in the afternoon and started the app 30 mins prior as instructed. The app says if you are waiting longer than 10 minutes, someone will call you. I waited a whole hour and a half in the waiting room, whilst 1st in line for over an hour. I'm now in a long waiting queue (10 minutes in and 15th position in the gueue) just to speak to the surgery reception again as I can't reschedule an appointment on the app. I have to be sent another invitiation from the surgery (probably to be left to stare at a blue screen with a poor drawing of a women at a desk for almost 2 hours again). I've spent the whole working afternoon getting no where to get medical advice. Why do I pay NHS each month for service like this?

I don't normally write reviews but had to warn new patients to avoid it at all costs! They never pick up the phone. I had my tests done on 13th June and was told to call back in a weeks time and I have been trying since then almost everyday of the week so in about two months of calling, I only got lucky once that was a couple of weeks ago and at that point I was told my test results are not back yet (one month after my tests)! I was told to call back in a couple of days AGAIN I've been trying since then and no response. I work long hours so can't really 'pop in' and have to rely on calling. This is probably the worst GP in Bristol if not the UK!

Struggle to ever get through ringing off of my desk phone and my personal mobile phone which i have pictures of ringing for 15minutes on each phone no answer the phone gets cut off. Back chat on call backs. Not happy with the service, nurse practioner Mike Peters and Dr Monica Ghallegher have always been great along with the other practice nurses. other doctors not happy with their approach towards myself or my children. I dont recommend this surgery to anyone moving locally.

Virtually impossible to get an appointment or even get through on the phone. Expect to hang on the line for quarter of an hour minimum to be told that there are no routine appointments for the next month. Unless its urgent of course.... in which case they suggest you can go to A&E. I was once told they keep back 1 or 2 appointments for urgent needs... first come first serve when they open - go and queue before they open if you want any chance of getting one; by the time they answer the phone they're all gone. I really hope they aren't paid by the number of people registered!

Awful experience with the receptionist today. I’m 17 years old, autistic and I have a skin condition to which had flared up so bad that I’m in pain with it and when I bend my arm the skin breaks. The receptionist basically saying my skin condition which is bad wasn’t without even seeing it and that I didn’t have the emergency appointment that I had come to attend to. Then called me a lair for saying it was a face to face emergency appointment that I was given by the receptionist Monday and when I told her that it was a f2f emergency appointment I wad given she then told the person she was speaking to on the phone that my “attitude was stinking”. Then came back into the surgery with my father so show the receptionist the slip the receptionist had given me on Monday for my appointment today and showed it was for then the receptionist to call me a liar to my father and say that I was being very aggressive and abusive towards her and that she asked me to leave. That’s not the case atall I was agitated that I wasn’t able to be seen to at the appointment to which I was given and I told her I want happy ahout it, she never asked me to leave I left with my own will.

I have tried calling 68 times this morning, I got through 4 times press 1 to book an appointment then listened to the recorded message then the phone locks off! I've never experienced such a service like this before, surely you can have one goal a quarter to implement that will make this service more efficient.

I have been with this practice for over 2 years. At first it seemed ok. The only doctor i have ever seen was Dr Gallagher and she was very good. However since they amalgamated with Leap Valley surgery it's been rubbish. You can't get an appointment to see a doctor although every time i go in the surgery is almost empty! I was given a list of 7 doctors when i registered but they don't seem to have as many now. I saw the Copd nurse a couple of weeks ago and she said come back in a month. No chance of that as i am just told there are no appointments and my name was put on a waiting list!! I am looking for another surgery needless to say!

Can't get them on phone to book an appointment. You have to go physically to get an appointment or wait on the phone line for atleast 1 hour before someone speaks to you. You will get same day appointment only if you are about to die and that too if you catch them at 8 am in the morning. GP appointments are always booked for next 4 weeks. So again the answer we get is try at 8 am in the morning. Nurses and GP seem to be good but their appointment system sucks. They need to fix either their phone system or their attitude towards patients care whichever is broken asap.

New to area and this is the closest doctors. Unable to get any points for over a month. On trying to order inhalers the receptionist said I had to fill about a piece of paper and put it in the box, but would not tell me the names of the inhalers that I needed to put down. (My records were on the computer) So in doing this one inhaler ordered was wrong and the other not processed at all. The pharmacist tried saying go back to the doctors (no help here) and said they only process what was written down. The whole situation was a farce needless to say will be looking for another doctors, sound alike doctors are off sick and appointments are not available, with the lack front of house helpfulness who knows what goes on behind the doors

I was seen promptly on time by Dr Jamie Preston who knew exactly what I was there for. He rechecked my skin blemishes explaining what they were whilst allaying any concerns I had. He quickly concluded that one of the spots needed medication and immediately arranged for it to be collected. Jamie's manner was both friendly and professional. Excellent consultation.

"The NHS won't help you unless you are on the floor, bleeding" - exact words from my GP while asking for support with my mental health... ALL of the nurses here are five stars, pleasant, polite and professional. But with GPs it is hit or miss depending who you see, they can be very rude and blazé about your circumstances and apply a 'paint them all with one brush approach, generally, at least in my experience over the last fifteen years of being a patient here. 9 times out of 10 reception staff will be pretty rude to you, documents go missing, things do not get followed up, you have to chase them every step of the way and even then it's an uphill battle... Rachel on the reception team is the one exception!! A real shame as there are some outstanding good people here, but a chain is only as strong as the weakest link and this surgery has a dozen.

Worst Doctors Surgery by far in the area. Receptionists are rude, not at all interested in your health concerns. Poorly trained and making appointments with incorrect doctors. I have tried calling 62 times one morning for an emergency appointment as requested, not once did anyone answer the phone. I did have someone pick the phone up off the receiver and put it back down, not realising they didnt put the phone down correctly and could hear two young girls giggling and gossiping about their weekend, unprofessional really, by all means enjoy yourself at work but do your job at the same time.. I've called in the past due to mental health issues to be turnt away and told to call back the next day for an appointment. This phone call was a crying for help to speak to a doctor. The receptionist turned me away

The actual doctors and nurses themselves are absolutely fine, but the service that this medical centre offers is just shocking. It's nigh-on-impossible to get an appointment, and if you do, it most certainly won't be within 2 months of booking it. Telephone appointments are the favourite thing here, with often no solution coming out of them. If you have the option to go elsewhere, do!

Really disappointing staff and end to end service with very little exceptions. If there was no stars or minus would give that rating instead. I have so many examples of bad and unprofessional service that I do not know where to start. Please change the management, train your people and be more empathetic instead of pathetic for a change!

Went in the other day and there was two young girls on reception, while I was waiting they were speaking very loudly about their personal lives and getting drunk/going on nights out. They were also slagging off patients to eachother saying that someone come in and moaned when one of them was on her personal phone and when another lady left (who had just tried to get an appointment) they were whispering to eachother speaking about the reason why she came in, what happened to patient confidentiality? I was in the waiting room 10-15 minutes and with the doctor all of 30 seconds as we were just shrugged off.

It used be OK until 2019. It then picked up additional patients becoming extremely over-subscribed. You will have a hard time getting anyone to pick up the phone and when you do you won't get an appointment for weeks.

Why this practice has not been investigated before now for its poor handling of patients needs I do not know! I work FULL TIME in retail meaning one of my two days a week off is on a Sunday, the surgery doesn’t open on a Sunday (I don’t understand why not seen as they’ve been money grabbing enough to take on excessive amounts of new patients, when they are fully aware that they’re not even able to see/ fit in the ones they already have!!!!!So should surely be opening extra days/hours to cover this!?!?) Due to being left with just the one week day to try and get an appointment, mixed with them NEVER answering the phones I am literally in tears with frustration sometimes at not not being able to see or speak to a doctor when I really need too!! (by the way they have the audacity to have a sign up about treating their reception team with respect, what a joke!!! They are some of the most rudest, unprofessional and Unempathetic people I have ever come across!) It’s just a complete joke, we’re all stressed, we all have pressures in life to deal with, but the difference is the rest of us (in the main) don’t get paid big fat wages to deal with it!!!! Have some respect and empathy for your patients and sort out the ongoing issues with your phone systems, and staff with bad attitudes that have been going on for far too longer now!!!! It’s just not on and is a HUGE shame when you have one or two amazing people who work there but are overshadowed by the rest of the ludicrous going’s on in this practice! The people who run it should be ashamed of themselves!! It’s disgusting!!!

The Surgery and the Staff are dedicating people who are genuinely offering the very best services here and credit to the Doctors too. Patients who are in need of medical health for their benefits and syphoning the governments always complain and those few undesirables should be grateful of the Services this Surgery provides. Dr gallagher and her Team goes to great length to protect and help and in my own personal view we should appreciate what we get in life .

DONT RISK LEAVING YOUR CAR IN THE CAR PARK! Called in in the morning and was told to get an opinion from a pharmacist. Got an opinion from a pharmacist (they said to see a doctor - very 'swings and roundabouts'). This meant by this time i had to call in the next day in order to get a same-day appointment. I suppose i got lucky as i did actually get a same-day appointment. The dr i saw was dr. Monica Gallagher. She was very helpful And very friendly. I was given a prescription to treat my issue and so as i left i thought "why not walk over to the boots across the road and pick up my prescription? It shouldn't take too long". I picked up my prescription and then proceeded to walk back to the medical centre's car park only to be met with locked gates, my car still inside. I tried calling the phone number for the practice however, i was only met with an automated message explaining that the medical centre was now closed and stated it was open between 8am and 8pm on mondays to fridays with exception to bank holidays. I was calling at 18:50 and so did not expect the car park to be locked. The practice is fine. The receptionists are friendly and useful (once you get through to them - be patient) and the doctors are pretty good. But, i would recommend just using a walk-in centre unless you believe its absolutely necessary to get an appointment with a doctor.
