I
came
to
Bath
recently,
for
the
first
time,
on
a
mini
little
break
before
starting
at
the
University
part
time.
I
did
my
research
before
travelling,
and
read
so
many
reviews
saying
Colonna
and
Smalls
did
the
best
carrot
cake.
With
carrot
cake
being
my
favourite
case,
I
had
to
see
if
the
reviews
were
true.
I
popped
by
on
a
Sunday
later
afternoon.
The
atmosphere
was
light
and
airy,
and
it
was
busy
enough
to
give
a
calm
and
welcoming
atmosphere
without
being
overwhelming.
I
order
the
carrot
cake
and
was
asked
to
take
a
seat,
where
the
carrot
cake
was
bought
to
me
(a
lovely
touch
I
was
not
expecting).
The
cake
itself
did
not
look
like
anything
special
but
my
oh
my
-
the
reviews
are
absolutely
right.
This
is
the
best
carrot
cake
I
have
ever
had
in
my
life.
The
sponge
is
incredibly
moist
and
has
the
perfect
level
of
spice
one
would
want
from
a
carrot
cake.
The
frosting
is
as
smooth
as
velvet
and
has
that
gorgeous
cream
cheese
tang
with
a
great
balance
of
sweetness.
I
cannot
stop
thinking
about
how
great
this
cake
was
and
its
been
over
a
week
since
I
went!
I
am
a
big
fan
of
raisins
in
my
carrot
cake,
which
this
did
not
have,
but
honestly
it
did
not
need
them
to
add
any
moisture
or
texture.
The
people
working
in
the
cafe
were
lovely
and
welcoming.
The
only
thing
I
would
say
is
that
I
do
not
think
I
could
sit
in
there
for
too
long
due
to
all
the
seating
(as
far
as
I
can
remember!)
being
hard
wood.
Nevertheless,
I
will
most
definitely
be
back
for
the
carrot
cake,
even
if
the
visit
is
brief!
