My first visit, post pandemic, on a venue that was regularly patronised especially when returning from a trip along the M4. Also it was on the Cask Marque Ale Trail - not that the staff seemed to know much about it. The ale offerings were unimaginative, but in noble condition, well deserving the Accreditation Certificate awarded (even though this was nowhere to be found) And neither was the Cask Marque plaque, that should have blazed with supreme confidence outside the main entrance. Those seeking a decent pint though, can sup here with confidence. What I also noticed, quite a few quid has been spent in the beer garden - there's been a serious tlc programme done and the large Berber tent (becoming quite common now) is a good idea.

Another excellent meal at one of our favourite pubs for lunch. Staff and owners lovely as always. Today's starter's belly pork bites and burrata with heritage tomato's, then lamb rump and steak tagliata to follow. The food was incredibly tasty and faultless. Neither of us had room for puddings today :(

Cosy pub with traditional decor. We were sat next to the fireplace which smelled of wood fire and was lovely. Staff were really attentive and brought us our food/drinks quickly and with a friendly, welcoming attitude. The roast lamb was the best lamb I've ever had!

Really lovely pub, with large garden and well decorated inside. The standout for me was the desserts - would go again! It’s a dog friendly establishment too.

Love it here. Grew up nearby and have happy memories of this pub. Now as someone who only gets back to this region once or twice a year I Walt’s make sure to visit the Bull. great food, especially the Sunday lunch. The definition of a cosy English pub.

Exquisite service, led to our table and offered drinks and menu's which came immediately quite the first impression. The waiter was friendly and very attentive, I cannot commend his service enough. Food was superb couldn't fault a thing the apple sauce with the Pork chop was unbelievably tasty and the Lamb being cooked to perfection was a real treat. Well worth a visit will definitely be returning. Many thanks

Have visited twice recently. Nice food & friendly staff. Nut roast was a bit strange but all other food has been lush! Pic is haddock Scotch egg.

Great venue. Set in the countryside away from all the distractions. Lovely food- portions on the small side. Cosy log burners to keep you warm. Beware no WiFi and the network reception is very poor which is why I have given it 4 out of 5 stars. If you need that break from your phone though its a good venue.

Lovely old building, large outside garden area, great staff, lots of parking. Didn't eat there so I can't comment, but the menu looked good. The only annoying thing (and not the pub's fault) is the junction to the main road nearby. It's near impossible to pull out as it's so busy in both directions!

A very special place. I was looking for some pub that’s in the country near Bristol and decided to try The Bull. We had a starter with crispy pork belly, it’s very tasty 😋 Mains were well presented and the flavours were on point! I had a chicken salad, the meat was juicy and it’s just refreshing and filling! 👍🏻 Palatable, we’ll come back again!!

Charming little pub off the beaten path with decent food and lovely staff. The fig and burrata starter was very nicely done! But avoid the seats by the back - they are very obviously near the toilet. Management should try to do something to subdue the lingering smell. We would have otherwise rated this 5 star.

We were acknowledged straightaway by bar staff in a very welcoming manor and shown to our table straightaway. Our courses came well presented and quickly. Food was delicious, just the right side potion. I was offered a taste of wine before I purchased without hesitation. Service through out the evening was excellent. Throughly relaxing atmosphere, evenly spread tables with distance and space between. Would recommend ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We stopped halfway on our journey to Wales at The Bull. This was a pleasant place to stop for lunch after a 2 hour 30 minute drive from home. The service was good and the tractor tyre play area was perfect for the kids to have some fun before the second 2 hour 30 minute drive to our destination. We enjoyed our visit so much, one week later we did exactly the same on the return journey home.

Nice spot for dinner and a cocktail in the hills of just outside Bristol. The curry chicken salad is great and the crispy pork belly is also good, though could use some more seasoning and was a bit try compared to the fattier type in the states. Strawberry, basil, gin cocktail was good. Highly recommend in the area.

A brilliant find. Lovely traditional interior as well as a large garden with dining spaces. Staff were really lovely, very friendly and helpful. Food was reasonable and tasty. Also had a vegan dish on the kids menu! Something we struggle to find usually. Will definitely be coming back.

The Bull Inn is just a stone's throw away from Dyrham Park, and is a perfect stop for lunch with friends and family. It's close enough to the M4 that is isn't an inconvenience but far enough off the main road to feel like deep countryside. We went on a bank holiday, so they had a limited menu, but we were informed that the weekday set menu for lunch normally changes every two weeks which sounds great. The staff were very pleasant and quick with taking drinks and food orders. We sat outside as the weather was so mild, and we took note of how well-presented the area is. The food was excellent and we were very happy with our choices. I would highly recommend paying a visit, but be mindful that when pulling in to the carpark as the road can be busy.

Lovely family party at the Bull at Hinton, in a private room. Very accommodating to all our needs. Staff managed to work around the chaos of 8 children and 10 adults. Kids enjoyed the play area and food and service excellent.

Came back because we always have a lovely time here. All the food was lovely, incredible skin-on fries. The menu is really varied for a Sunday as well. Service attentive and friendly, and our servers took into account our requirements. Will be back soon.

It was our first time in the tent and it was really lovely. The food was exquisite and was served to our table without delay. I didn't know that cabbage could taste so good! We had a wonderful evening at The Bull.

Absolutely lovely meal here. I have been meaning to visit for a long time and I wasn't disappointed. Staff were really friendly and professional, even when faced with an extremely rude and grumpy elderly customer. I would highly recommend eating here.

Great Service. Great Food. Great Outdoors. Arrive early because parking can get crowded, and it's a bit off the beaten track.

  • 5/5 Sarah M. 7 months ago on Google
Everything was outstanding. The Sunday roast was absolutely delicious, the vegetables were fresh and tasty. The lamb was so tender it literally fell apart. It wasn't cheap at 18.95 and 2.95 for the optional add on of cauliflower cheese, however the meal was worth every penny. The perfect cosy pub on a rainy Sunday afternoon. Our server was friendly and attentive. I cannot recommend enough!

Really lovely old pub that is deceptivly large with real wood fires. Staff are very friendly and helpful and it has a good choice of good food and drinks (the Yorkshire's are massive!). There is also a large outdoor seating area and a small play park for the kids.

Very nice old fashioned pub. Went as a family of four. The food was very nice but I felt the sharer starters were expensive given the portion sizes. One was nachos, they were baked and tasty but nowhere near enough. The other was camembert. The main courses were very nice and fresh. I would go again but as a treat only.

Staff were very accommodating, as we tipped up without a reservation at 5.45pm on a Saturday... Food was very tasty and hot, which is a novelty these days. Definitely will be returning.

My Mate had booked a table at The Bull, at Hinton (a pretty little village just North of Bristol) for Sunday Lunch, to celebrate his Birthday. We managed to blag a parking space at the front of the Pub in amongst the Land Rovers, a few Range Rovers and the obligatory Morgan soft top. It is quite a way out so most people opt to drive so Parking is limited though there is additional parking at the rear. They do have a Herb Garden at the back and customers are encouraged to take a walk around. When we went inside it was reasonably empty with one or two tables already taken and a few reserved for later. The interior is typical country Pub style, big fireplaces, Old furniture, lots of Oak and that lovely smell that you only seem to get in bars in the UK, British Beer. We sat at our table and ordered drinks. Beer (6X - @ £3.75) but free for the Birthday boy. Wine (Pinot Noir, £7 for the 250ml and £5.20 for the 175 ml glass) for the Girls and a cup of coffee (£2.10) for me . (I was ready for my afternoon nap and needed some thing to keep me going). The Menu is reasonably varied but we were here for a Sunday Roast so we didn't even consider anything else. There was a choice of Beef (45 day dry aged) at £14.95. Roast leg of Lamb (£12.95). Roast Pork Loin (£12.75) and of course a Veggie option of Nut Roast for £11. We were told the beef came slightly rare so we ordered two beef 'without blood' and one beef as rare as it could come. My partner went for the roast Pork which was a great choice. It had two thick slices of meat beautifully cooked and presented with all the trimmings including a large Yorkshire pudding that was a bit too crispy for our taste but which looked great. The beef was served as requested and again it looked and tasted great with all the usual Roast Vegetable and it was served piping hot. They serve Cauliflower cheese as an add-on to the Sunday Roast at £1.85 a portion so we guessed we would need three between us. It was really tasty and complimented the roast though I do feel slightly cheated that this is 'extra'. It made the Sunday Roast Beef £16.80 which is well on the 'expensive' side. They brought Horseradish sauce (very hot so be warned) and Apple Sauce in small containers, we didn't have to ask and we didn't have to wait for it to arrive. In some restaurants they don't always remembers to bring the sauce. Service was polite and attentive without being over powering. The venue was rustic but seating was a bit firm and I was glad to get up and stretch my legs at the end. We ordered more drinks and the Girls chose a cocktail from the specials board at £7.50 each. The Pudding list looked too good to resist so we ordered a Brownie (£6) a Cheesecake (£6) and a Lemon Pudding (£6). This was a very nice Sunday Lunch served in and Traditional Country Pub but its Expensive, the total bill came to £31.37 each its not some where I would go every weekend. However, for a special occasion it was fine. And you never know, you may well see a local celebrity sat at the next table?

Really loved the food. The duck breast with beetroot mash and steamed lettuce was fantastic. The staff were superb, although they could do with some help because it took ages for anything to come to table. And I hope they can get rid of the unpleasant smell that hails you on the entrance.
