    One of the best curry houses in the area. We’ve tried others in the area and you will not find anything better. The staff are super friendly and polite. The food is fresh and authentic and the flavours of different dishes can be easily distinguished where all others fail in the local area with authenticity the Spice Mahal is amazing!

    Great curry house, the chef's special menu is particularly good. They do a lot of takeaways so it can get busy but highly recommended!

    We do love the food here. Normally do a take out but when we do dine in, it can be a bit fast on service, so tell them to slow down and take your time. We went in Jan for my birthday arrived 0650 and was pretty much ready to pay at 0745 😂..great choice of curry, ample parking

    First time here and was not disappointed. Great variety of food and, despite the menu size, everything we ordered was top notch. It was nice to see a beer I hadn't encountered before, Bangla, which complemented the meal very well. I love that this place was fairly busy on a Monday when most restaurants, including mine, wouldn't dream of opening on such a quiet day. Spice Mahal truly represents the paradigm we should all aim for, with regular repeat customers driving consistent and new business alike.

    Poor takeaway this time. Been to this Indian restaurant many times in the last 10 years but recently their standards have slipped. Ordered lamb but got chicken or meal does not taste like it should. Rogan lamb tasted like lamb in a strong gravy and chicken madras was very lacking in spices and heat apart from the overwhelming taste of coriander. I doubt we will be returning to this place again. With continued disappointments.

    One of the best Indian restaurants around for sheer taste and quality. In my opinion no other restaurant in the local area matches the authenticity when it comes to the food where others places dishes were clearly frozen and reheated. Don’t be fooled by the dated decor the food is delicious and the staff always hardworking and professional!

    Had a takeaway chicken and onion bhaji overcooked sauce not very tasty nan bread was dreadful not cooked could still stretch the dough very disappointed as have had good meals in the past

    Food was delicious however we were disgusted how rushed we felt and how grumpy the staff seemed. By 2130 they couldn’t wait to get us out on a Saturday night when there was only one other table being used! Will not be going back!

    Friendly staff and quick service, however curries had no flavour and we're bland in our opinion. Four of us dined and we ordered 3 different curries, but with no flavour they all tasted the same.

    The chapatis are half cooked. The curry was really bad. It looks like they have just reheated it. The pulav was just yellow looking rice with zero taste. The rice was hard as if it were taken from the fridge and reheated. The service was awful. The waiter had no idea about the menu. The owner cared less.

    A favourite curry house, for my mate on our fortnightly curry experience. Again this evening we had a very pleasant time at the Spice Mahal. It was well attended, without too many empty tables. The food was excellent as normal.

    The food was amazing with a amazing started including popadoms and a variety of side dips including an onion and corrianda refreshing salad and a creamy coconut sauce ect ect for the main course we got lamb karahi, king prawn biriani, chicken Madras and a vegetable curry that come with the bitiani. Pilau rice. As well as this we had some piswari naan and garlic naan overall the lamb was tender. The prawns lived up to the expectations and piswari sweet with coconut.

    Have to say I've never had a more tasteless Indian dinner. We ordered takeaway and although the portions were a good size my chicken mahal just tasted of chicken in gravy, no spice or taste at all...and I'm covid free so there's no reason I shouldn't taste anything! Our starter order was wrong as well. Very expensive to have a tasteless dinner.

    The most disgusting frozen Indian food I ever had. All the food including the nan breads were frozen and tasted like it was expired a month ago. Severe pain in stomach the next day. Avoid at all costs

    The curry was good, but I ordered a dessert called Trufito, it turned out to be as big as an apple (on the picture it looked like a cake size dessert) and I understand that I asked for takeaway, but it was put in a plastic bag with no covering or box, and as a result part of the "cake" got stuck on the inside of the bag.

    Met some ex works colleagues at the Spice Mahal. Excellent food and service. Staff are friendly and nothing was too much trouble. It was very busy for a Thursday evening but service was still very good. Reasonable prices at £25 each.. Will definitely go back soon.

    As a group of 16 for a Christmas evening meal for volunteers, we had an excellent meal with excellent service. Very impressed with the manager and his team. Thank you for a great meal.

    Food was on the cold side and overcooked . Service was poor and unhelpful. They made a major confussion with the bill , 12 people and they refused to indevidualise the bill . So it was a free for all . And they still said we owed money, which the wife paid just to get out of there. We will not be back.

    Well, food is average if one knows authentic dishes. Some of the dishes are not actually what they meant to be. For example, lamb Karahi is no where near to a proper lamb karahi. I think they need learn that onions and tomatoes needs to be chopped for Karahi rather than cutting into six pieces and throwing in. However, the portion is good, and so is the atmosphere.

    Terrible service, made to feel a nosence, asked for high chair didn't have one ,we had a 3 course meal was rushed took food away before finished ,had a bad stomach all night, 5 of us ,party of six ,would never go there again. I should of now when I saw all the bright colours coming out in the food,

    A really nice little indian restaurant, its just out in the middle of nowhere. Food is good, staff are attentive and there's a good selection of beer to accompany your meal. Parking can get a little crowded when its busy, especially if you get a large party in, say a work do, who've all come in their own cars.

    They didn't have a baby seat, then didn't let us set our baby where we would normally set her. They lacked a kid's menu. Not very family friendly. They also insisted on passing hot dishes over the baby's head.

    Always love the food. Not the most friendly of staff hence not 5 stars but they are efficient. I always have the chicken or fish options as sometimes the lamb can be a little tough but the chicken is always delicious. Recommend booking as always popular. My favourite is the Achari. We drove from Cheltenham especially to go back. Didn't disappoint food wise.

    Great for a relaxing meal nice atmosphere a very large selection of Indian meals and very good portions.booking a must but you can order a takeaway with a ten percent discount.service is good and does take awhile as they cook each meal to order. Defiantly recommend.
