Great food, Average service and very strange booking time windows of 2hour slots. Better experience on this visit staff happy and good service and food was excellent 👌 👍 third visit and this time everything was perfect so well done and a special mention for Luke our waiter who was outstanding .

Our Server Andy was amazing! He let the kids press the buttons on the tablet when ordering our desserts and was very attentive to our needs all evening. He was very busy as it was a Saturday night but his attention to details towards us and other guests in his area was second to none! The food was absolutely delicious and cooked just how we'd hoped for! Well done All around to the entire staff working on a busy Saturday night! The entire evening was great- we don't go out to eat often, but I can highly recommend the Fox in Yate!

Staff are all attentive, professional and very friendly. Menu choice is good and the food is nicely cooked, decent size portions too. One of the few places where the chips are nice as well. I believe they manage their numbers here so it never seems heaving as such just nice. I think this helps with the service given

We booked a table for my son's birthday this evening. Our waitress was Emma. Our food was lovely and Emma was so attentive and amazing with the children that we brought. They are 3,6 and 7 and it is not always easy to keep them entertained whilst we enjoy a meal but she made it look effortless. Thank you Emma for a lovely evening. We will come again :-)

Excellent food lovely staff highly recommend salmon dish

I booked for 9 people. We are a family group wanting to get together for a meal and a get together. We were welcomed and sat in a large space near a window which was nice. The lady who served us was really nice and accommodating to some of more fussy family members. We all have a very pleasant time and will be returning soon.

We are regular visitors to the Fox. On arrival we were shown to our table (booked online). We were quickly approached by a waitress who took our drinks order which was quickly delivered. The waitress then took our food order and this was delivered in a short time. The standard and quality of the food was excellent as we have come to expect. After we had finished our dishes were removed and our order for 'afters' taken and this again was delivered quickly. When we had finished I signalled to the waitress to bring our bill. I had a money off token and this was handled without any fuss or difficulty. We then left. At all times the staff were polite and attentive.

We haven't been to The Fox for probably 3 years and we wouldn't hesitate to return again. Emma our server was lovely, very friendly and professional. I commented how nice the Pepsi glasses were when the drinks arrived and she said "lots of people say that, and I know how many are on your table!" It made us all laugh and certainly made us feel at ease. The food was lovely, the steak was cooked to perfection and the chips were exceptional!

Lovely food with a great atmosphere. Martha, Emma and Andy were all absolutely incredible! The service was amazing and they were all very attentive! I will definitely be coming back as they have a really good vegan range and atmosphere!

Quiet and warm little pub with a good selection of foods to cater for all. Attentive and fast acting staff meant you were not waiting around for long for food, desserts or the bill! The picture I have added is of the Rocky Road Sundae which was quite delightful

We popped in for a quick drink and snack on Boxing Day afternoon before everyone went back to their homes. It was really busy but we were easily accommodated and had a lovely time catching up. We had some nibbles and drinks and the atmosphere was so festive. Would happily return again :)

We hadn't made a booking, so pleased they were able to accommodate us. It wasn't overly busy, plenty of choices on the menu and the food arrived quite quickly. It was tasty and portion sizes were good, recommended for those nights you just don't know what to have!

Nice food, helpful staff and good value

With everything that's happening this place is a really good place to eat. They are on top form and have a brilliant way of working. The staff are well organised, we was greeted with a very warm welcome. This was our very first meal out since March, we was in yate Town centre and wanted to end our day with a nice drink and some good food, The fox did exactly that for us.

Ok but food cold n mushy

Friendly staff, always welcoming. Food is great. Andy (server) always smiling, always wants to chat. The only issues I would say are that more often than not on the last few weekends we have come there has been a shortage of food items, mainly the pizza deck not being available and Sunday roasts running out before 7pm. Other than that no complaints- thanks Fox team

We went to the Fox to celebrate a belated Father’s Day. On arrival we noted that it was busy with lots of diners, however the atmosphere was calm and pleasant. We had made an online booking, and we’re shown to our table straight away. The new menu looked really enticing and was reasonably priced. The server, Poppy came to take our drinks order, and shortly after the drinks had arrived came to take our food order. We ordered the Ultimate Southern fried chicken burger, the Cowboy burger and the Scampi and chips. The meals arrived in good time, were presented nicely and the food looked delicious! All of the meals were cooked really well and were very tasty. Poppy came to check if everything was ok in good time after we had received our food. The plates were cleared in reasonable time after we had finished and we were asked if we would like to order dessert. We ordered the Sherry trifle cheesecake and the Sticky toffee pudding, both of which were delicious. Poppy came to clear the table and asked if we would like anything else. All in all we had a fabulous evening; lovely environment, great food, fantastic service, we couldn’t ask for more.

From arrival, Andy was very welcoming and took us straight to our table. He engaged really well with our little boy and took the time to talk with him and share in his birthday news. Ordering from the table was quick and prompt; again interacted with our little boy. Food when it came was amazing - hot and tasty and delivered with care. We even stayed for dessert as well! The facilities were clean and tidy and the pub itself was clean. Overall, just a fantastic place to eat, drink and relax!

Visited on Saturday with my husband and 2 children. Upon arrival, the staff were friendly, courteous and very efficient. Drink orders were taken within 5 minutes of being seated, my children were given some colouring sheets and crayons (with both indoor and outdoor activities available to them, they were not bored!) Food and drinks came out promptly- the mixed grill was cooked perfectly. The restaurant, bar and toilet areas were all clean and tidy. Prices were great for food and drinks. Couldn't fault this place!

Excellent service as usual and a good selection of food from the main menu or the specials board. Staff are always friendly. Andy was our server tonight and he was very attentive and always has time for a quit chat and a smile.

Came in for our regular catch up with friends - a nice middle meeting point. We're never disappointed and always a delight to have Amy serve us - apart from the food, she's the reason we keep coming back! Well worth the trip.

Food was great, plenty to choose from. Drinks were reasonable. The biggest accolade is the service, exceptional! We were attended to by Andrew who is a real asset to the establishment, he’s attentive and has a very warm personality that would be hard to beat. Well done Andrew.

The vegetarian Sunday lunch was tasty, well presented and beautifully cooked. Our waiter Andy was considerate from the start. He was cheerful, well spoken and welcoming. The pub was warm, cosy and meals are affordable. Our meal was brought to us in good time . We never had a pudding as we were full but if the pub did a mini pud and coffee, we would have had that. We will return and recommend.

We arrived early, so the table wasn't free. The women on the front desk were brilliant they sorted things out and put us on another table. We ordered our drinks, when they arrived the girl was friendly and smiley 😊. Stopped in for a mid week meal. We had the burger deal and it was brilliant value for money! Our server, Emma was super friendly and attentive. In fact all the staff were friendly and polite, even the girl who brought our drinks over (I think her name was Nicky)!

From the booking online to the actual day it was very easy to navigate and add orders online. The table was decorated lovely for our festive meal. The waiter was very attentive and professional. The food was lovely with a wide variety to choose from from the menu. I would definitely book again.

We were welcomed and shown to our table quickly. Jess introduced herself as our server and took our drinks order and was happy to give us time to make our selection from the menu. The starters arrived quickly and were fresh and tasty. The mains also arrived quickly and were also freshly cooked. The meats, especially the chicken, were a little dry but otherwise the dishes were good. We had no dessert, so paid our bill and left. Overall a pleasant experience.

Came this evening and had lovely time. Food was delicious. Staff cleaning touch points regularly. Hand sanitizer dotted about. Very well planned and very clean. Great beer friendly staff

My family and I love our visits to the fox, it's always clean and the layout of the tables is nice and roomy, the staff are friendly, there is a nice atmosphere and the food is presented well and always delicious. "Great value for your money." ? Then you have the beautiful gardens, with a lovely park area for your children. Also a table area built with a roof for you to get out of the sun, rain or if to windy for you. The area around the outside of the is pub is very well maintained. A great pub for you and your children. I give it a 9/10 "9/10=Because the T-bone has been taken off the menu" ?

Oh dear! What a shame, what was one of the best food pubs has been turned into a low quality marstons ghetto... Marstons should ashamed in their response to covid, Greene king and Weatherspoons have put them to shame. Staff try their best, but will not be returning to any Marstons pub if this what they think is acceptable...

Good food that filles you up

It was an impromptu meal for two on this day as I had a leave day and thought I would treat my wife to lunch. It was the cheaper lunch deal, which was okay but my battered fish was a little bit dry around the edges and the chips slightly softer than I would like. It didn't put me off too much but could have been better if I'm honest. We'll see what and evening meals like soon and keep you posted.

Had to wait 40 mins for a pudding as it was a change of shift and wasnt put through the system we had a calzone to share and it was very poor standard there was hardly any thing in the middle just had the pastry

Tried to book a table to eat, as we had heard good stuff about this place. When we went in, we were told you have to email them your booking, so we did and five days later still not heard back from them, not even a sorry no tables are available at the time day you wanted. So went somewhere else instead which was very good. Future customers lost bad PR.

Went in for a relaxing meal with my partner but when we got there we were told by a lady that our table had back to back bookings and we only had an hour and a half to dine, understandably as it’s a weekend it’s a lot busier, but we felt like we were rushed and had to order/eat quickly. Despite this, we didn’t have to wait long for our food and drink, and the food tasted delicious, our server Andy was absolutely wonderful, he made sure we were well looked after during our meal and always had a smile whenever he was at our table. Thank you Andy for being such a wonderful server!

Booking was easy. Greeted at front door and shown to table within one minute. Very attentive staff taking drink and food orders. Colleague checked that she had taken the correct instructions. Drinks and food all arrived promptly. No mistakes made. Bill was correct. All told an excellent visit.

I booked a table for lunch to meet a friend I hadn’t seen for a few months. She was late so I ordered a drink and waited till she arrived. There was a lovely relaxed atmosphere and the waitress had a nice welcoming manner. I had a cowboy burger which was delicious and my friend had the hunter’s chicken which she enjoyed. Our waitress checked to see if we needed anything every now and then but we never felt any pressure to leave so got our bill when we asked 3 hours after I arrived. I will definitely be visiting again and highly recommend this pub restaurant.

The food arrived promptly and was very nice. There were 4 adults in our party. We all agreed the food was good.
