Stopped here for a quick pit stop while the M4 was shut. The member of staff who was working on the front counter was very hospitable towards my pregnant wife when she asked if we could use the restroom and made a stressful journey that little bit less stressy. Thank you!

Very nice hotel to stay at. Our room was a large family room. It was clean and tidy and had 2 single beds and a double with ensuite, toilet, and shower. We did notice the room we had, no.10, was quiet enough, although we did hear people walking in the corridor and the driers going off in the toilets outside our door. There was noise from the upstairs room, but this didn't last long. The dining area was nicely set out, and the bar area was split into two with a pool table in between. There are plenty of places outside in the gardens for siting and there is a patio area with seating. The staff were polite and well presented. There are two carparks, one at either end of the hotel, but do beware exiting these as there is a bit of a blind spot coming out. You definitely need a car whilst staying at this hotel as it's quite isolated.

Stayed here for one night and place was clean and immaculate I ordered a room with a double bed and got a room with two beds. I blame my fat Fingers as I may have clicked on the wrong option The place is in the middle of countryside and not far from the ‘M4 junction’ so it is relatively easy to find It is a big place with plenty of parking Only bug bear is it was a pig to find my room They have room numbers signposted but if you are like me got a room which starts from 40 it is not signposted and you may have to wander in the corridors to find it They do breakfast and also there is a pub serving food: which looked good as I was staying only one night and had to leave early in the morning I didn’t try this The service is very good and friendly So if you are round this neck of woods this is a decent place to stay

Staff were fantastic. Has a real welcoming feel. Certainly one of the best best westerns I've been to. Good size room, comfortable bed. Ideally situated outside of bath for my visit. Great place to get your head down!

I love this pub, been coming for so many years now. The bar food is fab, get some thick cut cheezy chips and onion rings. They even look after our car club who visit on occasion through the Summer.

It's very old, It's clean, it's quirky. The staff are really friendly and helpful. The only thing that let our room down was the toilet button was broken and the shower screen was missing the rubber strip at the bottom of the glass, which resulted in the bathroom floor getting soaked. I would still stay there again.

Quiet out of the way hotel. Plenty of parking with easy access. Good beer, plenty of outdoor space.

We did not stay but booked in for food as a great area for walking and golf before lunch. Had the most delicious sunday lunch, the service was excellent and the staff were really lovely. We were made to feel very welcome and dogs allowed in too. Will definitely be back! Will definitely be bach.

Camped on the grounds whilst hiking on The Cotwolds Way. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We had dinner and breakfast, both excellent and reasonably priced. We were given a key to access the toilet facilities during late night/early hours.

I stayed here last week for work, at first I was expecting this just to be an average 3 star review for a basic hotel that is need of a refurb but after my stay I really can't give it any more than 2 stars and I think that's being generous purely down the staff all being great. To start off with the good, as mentioned the staff are great, very friendly and all pleasant to interact with, the location is good, easy to get to but feels like your right out in the countryside. Plenty of parking. The not so good, upon entering the room it was clear immediately that everything is very dated and worn and not so much in that charming shabby chic kind of way, just old and in need of replacing. The double bed was two singles pushed together with a very clear ridge along the middle making it not very comfortable. The bathroom walls are stained from age and just generally grimy, black grime between the plastic panels and on the shower head hose. I opened the mini fridge in the room to put my water in to find that a previous guests leftovers had been left in there. Found there to be allot of small black hairs on my bed cover that looked as if they might be from a dog. The WiFi was not good at all, even with full signal it was pretty much unusable so I ended up sticking to using phone data. Then to top it off my breakfast of eggs Benedict served on top of a burger bun came with a side of someone's long hair in my hollandaise sauce. Overall just not a pleasant experience, I'd have been even less impressed if I'd spent my own money to stay here rather than through work. As someone who stays in hotels on a weekly basis for work this is down there near the bottom for me. Hopefully they can improve going forward.

First impressions really do count, and these were bad. Old dishes left on tables as we walked in. Dog hairs all over the seating. Stains on chairs. We were meeting a colleague from Germany and it was embarrassing as we had said what a great place it was. Food was OK although veg not cooked properly. Staff were slow to serve us.

Stopped for a quick light lunch on route to Bath. So disappointed, i was a local 30yrs ago and even pulled a few pints and waitressed there in my time. Everything as I remember it apart from the food. Burnt brushettas, small portions and certainly not worth the £10

Fantastic place. Stayed for work over 10 days and can only compliment the place. The staff are really attentive, and just really nice. The bar has great beer and the food…absolutely awsome. My colleagues and I ate there every night, tried everything on the menu and the daily specials, not a foot wrong. They have a special chef there.

A lovely quiet venue. Food is amazing, so well worth the trip. Nice beers. Rooms are OK, but could do with an update. Looks like some are in the process of renovation, so worth asking when booking. Great location just off M4. Orangery is fab in the spring/summer

Located only a few minutes drive away from town, this beautiful property is surrounded by beautiful nature. Run by families generations after generations, they are doing amazing. Comfortable beds, hot water, clean bathroom, neat room, coffee-tea makers with generous supplies of tea bags and coffee sachets and not to mention the hot, deliciously cooked breakfast the next morning. We had a pleasant experience, right from the time of check-in through check-out. Safe parking is available within the property premises. I recommend staying at this property. Thank you!!

Booked to attend a weekend wedding in Bristol, and within budget for what we needed. Young staff who were helpful when asked. The room that we had was large and spacious for our family, yet would benefit from an update. Lots of space outside for the kids to play in, safely away from the road. Breakfast had lots of variety and a chef who worked very hard to get all the food out during busy times.

I stayed here while hiking along the Cotswold Way. I was camping along the trail, and the hotel was kind enough to accommodate my tent in a field on the hotels grounds. The staff were super friendly and it was a peaceful night's sleep.

Loved the hotel , the room as well as the warm owners. It's about 20 mins from Bath / Bristol, in a very quiet place but that added to the charm. Thank you for hosting us !

The staff were super friendly and helpful. A large group from Southampton stayed the night after a Wake. The hotel did great in providing an all vegan buffet which was varied and tasty. Good breakfast which was fresh and hot. Comfortable beds in clean rooms.

I stayed here for 5 nights while searching for a place to live in Bristol. Set in a beautiful countryside location on the edge of the Cotswolds, 20 mins from central Bristol it made an excellent base, for price and free parking alone. I stayed in a room that had recently been refurbished to a modern standard. Thick carpet, feature wall, funky lamps and a large, wall-hung TV. The executive double gave me space to work, workout and relax during my stay. It's the staff and kitchen that are the jewel in the crown. I arrived on a Sunday evening and was checked in by Callum who was very sweet and helpful before I tucked into their home-made roast dinner. One of the best roast dinners I've had on the road, and I spend at least 6 months a year travelling for work, nationally and internationally. The roast was like a homecoming! Fliss and Libby and Kieran deserve a mention for being super sweet, helpful and welcoming. All the staff at this hotel deserve plaudits for portraying what is clearly the owners ethos towards guests. Penny and Rupert are the mother and son side of the ownership team and you can see where their staff's friendliness and willingness to help comes from. I had intended to eat most of my meals elsewhere, but the kitchen here is so good, that I ended up working my way through the menu and the specials board 🤣 To expedite the ordering process, I did so at the bar each time except when Kieran was serving, and ordered from the table. Everything had that home cooked taste and was presented beautifully including the desserts. Lunch in the Orangery on a cold winter day with the sun warming you and the live vines through the glass ceiling, is a little treat everyone should give themselves at least once in this life! The only reason I didn't give this place a 5-star review was the WiFi in the rooms. It is worth noting for business travellers that despite expensive ongoing efforts to improve the system, there is still work to be done to make the Internet speed high enough for the business traveller, otherwise this an absolutely perfect place to stay. Thank you team for a chilled home from home base to get me through the stress of the Bristol rental market.

My room was great withacomfortable bed, bathroom was very clean but dated. The restaurant was really good, staff were helpful and friendly. The car park could do with some signage to reception and a clear pathway to it. Would be happy to stay here again.

The location of this quiet quaint hotel was fabulous. The Cotswald walk was right across the street the street, and the grounds had quiet places to picnic. The staff was accommodating and the rooms comfortable. Don't forget to try Marshfield ice cream. The farm is just up the road!

We had a lovely stay here. The staff were great. The room was really nice and the bed was very comfortable and we really enjoyed our stay. The breakfast was good, the only complaint was the sausages which we both left.

Attended a 90th birthday party here and stayed overnight. We had such a lovely time. The staff were very friendly. The food at the birthday party was delicious, catering for adults, children and various dietary needs with no problem. We stayed in an executive room which was clean, spacious and very comfortable. Breakfast was really good. I highly recommend this place for both a function and accommodation.

Paid for upgraded executive room with a view 😡 had a view of car park tiny single bed duvet fell off onto the floor all night as far to small. Kettle took forever to boil and tea cups were tiny ( need mugs) Had to leave my breakfast 🍳 as absolutely taken over with 6 dogs barking and trying to get onto the chairs , it was dreadful , same thing happened while trying to have evening meal 😢 I suggest different dining area for people with dogs ….. All in all with room and dining experience was not at all pleasant, sadly won’t be returning which is a shame as we regularly visit my son locally…..
