The meat was dry and there was a lack of imagination with regards to their selection of vegetables. The Christmas atmosphere was no where to be seen and last week it was burnt Yorkshire pudding same this wk. If the thermostat is broken fix it simple. (That’s what I was told). It’s a shame because with some outside light to help promote and a new thermostat plus more decoration potential is there. Just saying

Carvery average at best. Would have had the steak but apparently peppercorn sauce only made on a Friday. Why? Would love to know what reasonable justification they have for being incapable of making a simple sauce Saturday to Thursday. Finally asked for sparkling water & got still water. What's the point in employing staff who are incapable of listening?

Maybe not the cleanest, nor the widest selection but what's there is good, plus ample seating and the prices aren't too bad. Good carvery as well.

Popped in for carvery. Was very disappointed. The meat was luke warm. And as for the veg and roast potatoes was all cooked from frozen. Nothing fresh. Also for the money portion of meat was very poor

Had Sunday carving with family for birthday dinner. Staff were very attentive to me and my bestie (as we're both disabled) and friendly staff. Highly recommended

A necessary stop here, because it was on the Cask Marque Ale Trail, not that the young barman knew much about it. This seems to be a degree of dereliction of training - the accreditation is not easily come by and is only awarded to those establishments that can keep all the Ales on sale in perfect condition. This alone needs constant cellar work and there is the twice yearly unannounced inspections to endure. Plus, it costs - so not to have front of house staff fully conversant with the scheme does sound odd Niether was he ofay with the house wifi facilities. Part of the CMAT routine, that we nerdy types who try to attend every pub 'on the trail' endeavour to do, is scan the Certificate that records our visit. This, in most cases, as it was here, would be conveniently placed where Smartphones with the appropriate App downloaded could address. A good wifi signal is helpful to successfully accomplish this. However, despite mine hosts lack of erudition, I managed to prevail. As for the beer - the purpose of my visit and not to relate the barmans awareness' - the choice was Butcombe or Butcombe. I chose a pint of Butcombe, which was fully deserving the Accreditation awarded. I was a little too late for lunch, which was not long cleared away, but the choices advertised were a lot more salubrious than what I'd consumed a mere half hour earlier. Another more timely visit will be required. Very nice tiles in the gents loo - btw.

Was told last booking was 6:30, when we turned up we’re very rushed go eat( hadn’t even sat down or ordered anything) which made me feel very uncomfortable. While getting the food they turned the lights off while we were still getting it. Paid £40 for a rushed and uncomfortable meal. Wasn’t made aware that 6:30pm was clean up or we’d have gone elsewhere. Won’t be coming back.

Easy parking with plenty of spaces. The pub was busy but it is large & there was plenty of spaces There is a normal pub menu plus a Carvery. The food was excellent as was the service. My friend has mobility issues & the staff helped him on several occasions. Extremely enjoyable visit, recommended 👌

We've had the carvery lunch several times before because they have gluten free options and can provide a vegetarian option without fuss. The food is good and the service friendly. Ticks all the boxes when we'r eat out.

Didn't book before but was still accommodated. Excellent front of house. Good and efficient service. Food was fresh and excellent. Plenty of meat. The chef cared about the cut of meat and the presentation. Best carvery I have had in a very long time. We will come back.

Amazing food and excellent service. Definitely a place we would re visit when in the area again. Such friendly staff, best cauliflower cheese I've ever had, Victoria sponge and strawberry cheesecake went down a treat after an excellent carvery

Went in for the start of the Sunday roast at 1150 for 1200. Nice place pleasant staff. Both had the Medium roast and were about the 4th or 5th to be served, so the presentation of the food was good. Reasonable amount of meat was served onto the plate and as normal help yourself to vegetables. Roasters and veg was nice but tasted from frozen not fresh but you get what you pay for and in my opinion better than winterstream farm. That early serving the food should of been HOT, it wasn't. That let it down. Not being fussy honest review

Absolutely disgusting carvery!! Used to come here alot haven't been for a few years and was really disappointed. I had all the meats beef, gammon and turkey. Beef was nice however gammon and turkey was both cold. Carrots, green beans and sweetcorn for a place which is called a carvery is not a good enough selection of veg. I'm sorry but who even had sweetcorn on there roast!! Cauliflower cheese had no white sauce on it with minimal grated cheese. There was no mash parsnips or boiled potatoes just roast potatoes. Not quite sure you can class this as a carvery with 3 meats, 3 veg and potatoes!!!! Manager was poilet but tried to defend this appalling food. We hardly eat anything and was only in there 30mins. Got a kebab on the way home instead.

Truly wonderful place. The roast dinners are absolutely outstanding, the meat so tender, vegetables so fresh and the roast potatoes wow. If you have not eaten here then I truly recommend it. The best roast dinner I have ever had in Bristo

We got a take away roast and it was delicious! The best take away roast I've ever had. We all ate every bit. We had a lovely big portion of beef and lamb. I would definitely recommend.

The carvery isn't the best the the other food on the menu is very good. It's OK if you just want a drink.

Sorry, but not impressed with the carvery. Very megre portion of meat offered (medium choice), luke warm vegetables. Perhaps this was a one-off because the resturant was highly recmmended to me.

Polite and very helpful staff. Hygiene very good as is the decor. Food/carvery is excellent! I would have stayed for a sweet, however, I did not due to the extreme heat in the bar restaurant. I know we are experiencing abnormal weather but the pub only has two fans! Others were complaining of the heat and when the bar lady was challenged over this point by us she had no answer! Please please please invest in at least four more pedestal fans. They're not expensive and our summer's are not going to get any cooler!

Great pub, staff always welcoming and polite. When I was last there.... There was a difficult customer and staff dealt with the situation perfectly. The carvery is great, massive choice and cooked nicely. They also do it for take away which is great for me. I can grab a roast on the way to work.

So ordered 1 large turkey and beef (they had left at 315 on a Sunday ) 1 beef with extra Yorkshire pudding. 1 pint while waiting. £31 something. 4 potatoes between 2 people. Really.

We started visiting this pub about a year before first lockdown. From day 1 we received a very friendly welcome, and the food is exceptional. I am writing this review to reflect our last experience, last Saturday for my mothers 75th Birthday. I had booked a limo and had family members down. I was severely let down by the limo which meant, not only did we arrive late to the pub, but, I had a further hour delay sorting out prob less with the limo. The Cauvery was due to close at around 7pm, due to lack of customers because of the pandemic. The landlord, who is so friendly and accommodating held the Cauvery for me, as he could see I was in a very difficult position. The food was outstanding, the service, as always, perfect, and, they brought out a birthday cake for my mother and sang happy birthday. So not only did they hold the Cauvery open for us, but, they also held the pub open for us and did not rush us at all. As ev er a fantastic experience, and I only hope this wonderful place makes it through the pandemic, it would be a terrible loss otherwise. Thank you very much all at the Badminton Arms :)

We had a family meal out on a Sunday all eating Carvery... I require Gluten Free and the Carvery is all marked out very clearly indeed with GF. GF Yorkshire too. just no stuffing or sausage but was awesome. Gravy GF awesome as places forget about that. Felt totally safe. Thanks to well informed staff.

I’ve been here before and really liked the place hence the 4 stars. Went today and ordered the burger, it was dry and bland. If I hadn’t gone before and enjoyed this place, I would’ve gave it 3. If you go here, just get the carvery

A truly delicious meal, carvery, had by a party of eleven. And the young lady waiting on us was lovely. Always smiling and very attentive. Thank you. We'll be back!

We often go here for a carvery as you know it will be nice. Went yesterday meat was so tasty and all British which is good to see. Food was constantly being refreshed and very nice. Afterwards I had a banana waffle which was to die for! The staff are always helpful to us and we had a wheelchair user with us so appreciated that. On that point they had a nice, clean disabled toilet. We shall be back!
