Cerbul de Aur is one of Chisinau's best restaurants. It has an extensive menu of appetizers like mushrooms, salads, and soups that easily could be their own meal. Meats from rare game in Russia and the former Soviet Union round out the main courses. The expert waiters serve Russian-style infused vodkas and juices throughout the dinner.

Great place. Delicious food and the service is very good. Cousy atmosphere. The host really makes you feel welcomed. He personalises the service. Amazing variety in the menu in local or regional specialities. Although the main specialities are meat, especially hunters type, you can also find fish and vegetarian options. Everything is served in an amazingly unique way. Not many tables available so it might happen to be full. The complementary drinks and home made sweets are the cherry on the top of the cake. Certainly a must visit. I hope you enjoy as much as I did. Pofta buna. Bon appetite.

There are very interesting dishes available in the menu, which you usually do not find in regular restaurants. Food was excellent and the owner very kind and friendly. Great expierence! Definitely recommend

Great experience! There are lot of words that can describe a restaurant,in this case not enough If you want a taste of Chisinau, Moldavia this is the place. The owner, also your host, remarkable person he will go the extra mile for your experience there.

We went to this place for a late lunch, and came back for dinner (with someone else). Came back mainly so they can have the experience, I was very full. This place is fantastic! The service is old school, attentive and non-intrusive. Every thing made from scratch in house. We had some fruits w us, they offered to put them in the fridge as we ate! We asked for sparkling mineral water as a start, they brought us (and asked if it was ok!) the less expensive (still excellent) option on the menu (as opposed to another venue in Chisinau) From then on, things kept getting better. They brought heaps of home made juices, just as a welcome. We ordered quite a bit of food, which came on time and was absolutely excellent. There are a lot of game meat options, and we asked for recommendations. Again, we felt the recommended meal was with consideration to what we would like, rather than the most expensive thing on the menu (another Chisinau experience). Ended up having an assortment of dried game meats (soo delicious, I loved the duck the most!). Then, for mains the deer steak was amazing. Wine was good, and the house also offered a free glass of home made wine, one of "must" and one of limoncello. We even were even offered free desert (cake). Even their butter was great! The prices aren't small for Moldova, but very affordable considering what you get. Imho this restaurant is second to none (I can't imagine what else one could do to be better). If I'd live in Moldova (on a decent income), I'd probably eat here every day. All in all, I highly recommend to anyone visiting, you will be impressed for sure!

Must visit in Moldova. The food was simply amazing but the conversation with Alexander, the owner, was even better. Not only he treated me with many different wines and liquors on the house but also recommend places to see in Moldova.

This is insane! Great place, amazing wine, even better meat (deer and bear are delicious) and a variety of spirits makes this place as one of the top spot in Chisinau. Greetings to the host, Sasha, who is a really nice guy!
