I was invited out by some friends to have dinner at this board game cafe. It was a great experience! I ordered some beef nachos which were very tasty and they got some milk shakes and other food! The price to play the games was reasonable and so was the food! I haven’t seen such a large variety of games so it was hard to choose which one to play! The staff were very knowledgeable on the games they had and helped us select one! It was a very good recommendation! We had a blast playing it and will definitely come again! Although I did loose the game! Great staff, food and games!!

We visited Chance and Counters on Sunday evening and had the best time. There is a great selection of board games, and the staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. There is a really great atmosphere with everyone enjoying themselves. The food was excellent and the milkshakes too. I would recommend making a booking before you visit, as it appeared to be a very popular establishment. Would definitely recommend to anyone who is wanting to come here! We will be returning!

I was on my first trip to Bristol and me and my friends randomly stumbled upon it. We had no real intentions of coming here in our original plan. However I got my mates in, we carried on drinking and it was an amazing time. I have already listen to the podcast and have been a Yogscast fan since 2011 so it was great to be in here. Lovely staff. Great selection of games. Many recognisable and many I've not seen before. A couple I'll be adding to my own collection now. It's such a shame there isn't one in Blackpool! If I am ever near another location I will be straight in! £2 per person per hour is such a good price!

Great board game cafe. So many games to choose from. Some of them were quite worn or instructions were missing, but we just chose another. The cocktails were amazing (we had the pawnstar martini and banana bread ones) and better than ones we'd had the night before at an actual cocktail bar! We didn't have food, so can't comment on that. Staff were friendly and helpful. We'll definitely be back when in Bristol again.

Visited with a couple of friends on Saturday and have already booked again. We had a fab time, there’s lots of games to chose from and we loved the recommendations suggested by the staff. Orders are taken at the table, staff are friendly and helpful. The dirty fries were delicious as is the passion fruit smoothie. Highly recommend coming with friends and family.

I absolutely love this place! I spent my birthday here and having access to SO MANY boardgames I've wanted to buy is such a bargain. The staff are so friendly and amazing, they'll recommend games and explain rules. The drinks are incredible too- I had a chai latte and Deluxe hot chocolate- only put 4 stars on food because I didn't order much, but what I did get was good. The concept and execution of the boardgame cafe is excellent. I'll be making regular visits here despite the fact I live quite far. Id recommend to anyone!!

Had a morning gaming session here after seeing the dednutz live concert, me and my friend had never been before and the worker there was super helpful, got us all settled in and set us up with star wars deck building game which me and my friend loved! And the worker showed us how to play and made sure we were comfortable and as we payed the bill we bumped into Alex Smith the front man of the band we just saw! 10/10 would definitely come here again next time we visit Bristol.

Was not sure want to expect but my son and I really enjoyed the whole experience. The atmosphere is relaxing and the staff are friendly and helpful. The food menu is limited but still tasty. There is a big selection of games to choose from and the staff were knowledgeable to recommend games for my son and I to play. They even helped set up the games and explained how to play. It is £2 per person per hour to play the games, which is reasonable. We were allowed to stay an extra hour to order more milkshakes and finish our game. Will definitely be going again.

Came in as a small group and had a lovely time. Food was very decent if a touch expensive for what it was, and the drinks are fantastic; particularly the peach long island iced tea and the mulled cider. Great selection of games and lovely staff!

Really enjoyed our evening and the game recommendation. Good place to spend time with friends. The Team here are very helpful. Lots of fun if you like playing board games with friends or as a family

Had a brilliant time...only thing was wish we had booked longer than two hours!! Pie Minster pies are always amazing and the staff were super friendly and helpful in choosing games to play for 2 people. And they allow dogs...which was a huge bonus, so my dog watched us play :)

Had a team bonding evening here and what a great idea. I'm not into board games but even I enjoyed great company and service at this place. The nachos, sandwiches and hotdog type food available is very good and suits the environment and reasonably priced. The drinks menu is excellent and caters well for non-drinkers.

We are game board newbies and Staff were really tentative, super friendly, and had knowledge of all the games which is amazing considering how many games there actually are (looked like 100s). They recommended then took the time to talk us through some games and rules of play. Would 100% recommend and whilst we had loads of fun in the 2 hours, we will book again for a longer slot next time!

Booked here for our work Christmas social after our lunch out. All the staff were so friendly, we were late and they were able to shift our booking, they have a great selection of drinks and nibbles. But most of all - the games selection is great! And every game we asked about they knew exactly where to find it. I want to go back with my partner to try all the two player games they have. A great place to go.

Nice little board game cafe which we went to with a large group of friends. We had the back section booked out including dinner. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was tasty though as it has a very small kitchen it came in several batches. Normally not a problem if there's only 4-5 of you, but as we were twenty five it did take a little while, but we had the games to keep us entertained.

One of the places I wanted to checkout while on my trip abroad. TONS of games, as one would expect from a place like this. Food tasted great, drinks were good but I think were I to return I'd skip out on the liquor drinks and stick with a beer. The mixed drinks could have been a lot stronger. The game we checked out seemed to be in good condition and not covered in food or stains so that was a nice plus. I've been to other board game places where that wasn't the case. The location is adorable and captures a good atmosphere. A great place to spend a few hours with friends.

We came on holidays to Bristol and found this lovely place trying to have a coffee by 10 pm (we are Spanish haha). There are a lot of board games (we just tried one for half an hour but It was really funny), the coffee was really nice and the banana bread absolutly AWESOME. The staff were kind and helpful with the games and the menu, and the atmosphere was great with all the groups of friends playing games. Its also pet friendly. Totally recomended 💜

Been twice and loved it. Great set up and one of the more comfortable board games cafés out there. Nice selection of drinks, both hot and alcoholic. Great place to try out new games considering how big their selection is. You can have the fun of a games night but not have to worry about the dishes and have someone else serve you!

Had such a lovely time. Staff were helpful and friendly and taught us the game rules when we were confused. The only thing that would have made it better is more vegan options like the Cardiff branch! Otherwise though, the food was lovely.

This place is overall excellent, wide array of games and staff are for the most part knowledgable. I think it was a bit too busy when we last came as there was a large party at the front and that meant that some games couldn’t be explained to us well. The drinks are nice and there is good selection but the food is a little bit lacklustre.

Had the best time at Chase & Counters! I went with my friends for my birthday, and booked a table. We were late to the booking and changed the time too, but even so, the staff were amazing and really patient with us. They were so great in helping us find the right games, and their espresso martinis are INCREDIBLE! I also lost my ring in there, and they were so so kind to keep it safe for me until I could pick it up. I highly recommend going to Chase & Counters!

We had a great evening playing boardgames over amazing vegan sandwiches and drinks. The staff is super friendly and eager to help. They have a huge selection of games, and over the 4 hours we managed a game of Cascadia and Clank! We'll definitely be back to try out some other games soon.

Absolutely brilliant, love this place. Came for my birthday celebrations and had a brilliant time. Only downside is that the venue needs to be bigger to fit everyone in but that doesn't take away from how good it is - would 100% recommend if you love board games

So many games to choose from and so many I've never seen before! A nice laid back atmosphere in a quaint building. Staff were really friendly and managed to squeeze us in for a longer session than was originally available to us. They were also helpful and offered advice on game choosing and with rules if need be. Food we had, toasties and flavoured fries, and cake were really good. Good place to relax or have competition and have fun.
