Vanillas Coffee

Cafe Indian takeaway

👍👍 I am obsessed with the delicious chaat at this great little family run cafe. Great flavours and generous portions, with a decent range of both Indian, British and crossover brunch-type cuisine. The coffee is lovely too, even if you’re not hungry. People often mention breakfast, Indian, delicious, cafe, coffee, friendly, family, lovely, service, options,

My first time at Vanilla’s and it was delicious! Firstly, most places don’t offer masala chai with alternative milks, here they were more than happy to make Oat milk Masala chai for my friend and I, and it was delicious, actual homemade chai I could tell! We tried the Dhokla which were so tasty and authentic, and my friend had never tried them and loved them so she took half home for a snack later! We also ordered paneer masala dhosa with chutneys and scrambled egg and avocado on toast! Both were so freshly made and yummy too! I am Gujarati myself and have grown up on these foods, so it was amazing to go somewhere which was fresh, real home food! Definitely an authentic place where quality shows in food and service! I’ll be back for sure.. Soon!

Indian style cafe with a mix of English and Indian lunch/brunch options. From English breakfast to paneer dosa and chaat. Food is around £6-8. Also does a selection of coffee and milkshakes. Food was very tasty, can recommend the dosa. Also dog friendly. Worth a visit.

😙👌I had the Vanilla's breakfast and it was the biggest and best cafe breakfast I've had for years, all good quality and under a tenner! Two of everything on the plate and the spicy sausages were really good! The atmosphere was a bit dead but I'm planning on coming back to work my way through the menu.

Absolutely superb breakfast! The 'vanillas breakfast' is one of the best I've ever had. Lovely family run business and they're dog friendly too! 10/10!

Came in once for coffee and noticed the vegan breakfast options. Decided to return with my boyfriend the next morning for breakfast. We were advised to try the Dosa breakfast which was almost vegan and could be made fully vegan. It consisted of a sort of crepe with amazingly fragrant and well cooked potatos and chutneys. My boyfriend is picky with onion and mentioned it to the chef who promptly reassured him he too was picky and would sort him out no problem. It was so lovely. I believe it's a family business so it's very warming and welcoming. Will return for sure.

Ate the Masala Omelette (with amazing curried beans) with a cappuccino, all of which was delicious. Simple cafe serving delicious homemade Indian food & fry ups with an Indian twist. Highly recommended local cafe.

Such a hidden gem! Clean, friendly atmosphere, delicious English and Indian breakfast/brunch options which aren’t greasy or expensive. Loads of vegetarian and vegan options. Great after a park run or walk in Hilly Fields. The family that run it are lovely; I sat and had an iced coffee and read the paper while waiting for my takeaway breakfast to be freshly cooked. Can’t wait to try lunch (Indian street food) Thanks!

When eating in I ordered a flat white coffee, the spring special bowl and a side of garlic mushrooms and chicken sausages. The food was presented well and tasted as good as it smelt when coming to the table. The staff are very helpful and polite. The cafe itself was nice, clean and bright. Would look to come again for breakfast as well as try the very tempting options on the menu for brunch as well. Thanks

Good Espresso. Sour as it always is in London, but this one had a nice flavour, much better than Browns of Brockley, and cheaper too

Fantastic Indian brunch and amazing fresh fruit refreshers. We loved the samosa chaat. Friendly family run cafe. They made space for us especially as it was quite busy.

Paneer Dosa for brunch? Yes please. Everything I’ve tried on the menu has been delicious. Samosa Chaat and the Dosa are my favourites. Great value and friendly service. Expect a relaxed pace. 🙌

I had a fantastic experience ordering a birthday lunch for about 20 friends. The owner and his family were all really friendly and helpful. The owner suggested a good range of Indian food, including vegetarian and free-from. It was all freshly prepared, hot and delivered on time. All my friends commented on how lovely all the food was and had seconds and thirds! It was very good value for money. I would thoroughly recommend asking Vanilla's to cater for a party.

A good place to get an eat in or takeaway snack, breakfast or lunch. An unusual balance of English or Indian food.

Constantly welcoming to all of the customers aswell as providing a vast choice of cuisines. Caters to vegetarian and vegan dietry preferences and of course the coffee is great. I recently ordered the Aloo Chaat which is a vegetarian dish and thoroughly enjoyed it. Would definitely recommend to anyone passing through or local residents.

Friendly family run business, with a surprising range of intriguing Gujerati specials, as well as the more run of the mill options. They have sensibly put tables outside due to the c19 situation. Coffee is by Tschbo and although not one of the more artisanal brands, makes a reasonable coffee, plus the barista has been practicing their latte art! I had a Gujerati breakfast special which was delicately spiced and delicious. The smoothie tasted freshly made. Great veg/vegan choices.

Wonderful place for breakfast after the Hilly Fields parkrun this Saturday. Being Indian they had fantastic gluten free options, well priced for the portion sizes. Fantastic service by the two guys too - full of smiles and couldn't do enough for you. It was far too quiet for how lovely this place is, would love to keep it unknown and off the map, but they deserve to be buzzing!

Enjoyed a lovely breakfast here yesterday after the Hilly Fields Parkrun. The food was delicious and a nice change of place from the usual breakfast staples. The portions were very generous too. Can’t wait to come back again soon.

The food is amazing. My partner loved her English breakfast and I loved my Dosa. The cafe is clean and the staff are really kind and it’s so much cheaper then the cafes in ladywell - a new local fave

Masala fries, masala chai and the masala dosa is amazing. It’s just a bit cold inside so wear a thick coat in winter. In terms of the owners, they are Lovely people and accommodated me when I asked for something off the menu.
