It's a huge reservoir irrigating and providing drinking water to several villages around Sira. When full, its a beautiful sight. Visited in Mid Feb'2022 and found it brimful. Check out my accompanying video...

Serene place for short outing. If u plan, carry eatables and water to drink since there are absolutely no stalls. Best time to visit from June to Jan. Feb and march might be feast for photographers. Very less people are aware of this place and barely will find people on normal days. Few visit on festivals and long weekends, especially sankranthi. Road connectivity is a bit clumsy for around 15 km from NH4. I could barely see any buses, but can hire an auto if planned to visit through public transport

Gayatri Jalashaya is a reservoir built by the King of Mysore across the river Suvarnamukhi. The reservoir provides water to the nearby villages. Though it is not a popular tourist destination, it is a calm place to visit with your loved ones. The area is ideal for cycling. It is a pleasant picnic spot for weekends. Nothing much to see here. You don't lose anything if you skip this. When we went, there was not much water. Zero crowd place. No sign boards. You will get a doubt whether that is the destination. Nobody is there to check. We need to wait for local villager if you want to ask anything. Maybe in rainy season water level will be high and may look good.
