Category  Natural / Scenic beauty It was established in the year 1972 and also known as Binkadakatti Zoo. Home to various types of species, Gadag Zoo also shelters rescued wild animals to be nurtured and rehabilitate. The Zoo is also a center for research studies on the habitats and other fields relating to wild animals. Overall, the Zoo summarizes a retreat to the wild animals in Nature. In a tribute to the gifts of Mother Nature, the Biodiversity, the characters of lifeforms, the multitude of life is an undiminished wonder to our beings. We all bare the same genesis called life, and here with a stand we envision for a better living with our distinct creatures. In order to conserve the realm of life and pristine Biodiversity in India, we involve people in conservation through management of effective Zoo and educational programs.

So calm and peaceful zoo. Everywhere there are trees which keep us cool on a sunny day. I enjoyed observing animals and they especially have glass windows where we can see the animals more clearly, even photos can be captured clearly. It wasn't crowded maybe because we went on weekdays. Simply saying, we enjoyed it from start to end.

The zoo is not the most attractive one but yet an interesting one. Entry fees is mere . You find variety of birds Indian and oversees, many different types of wild animals like wild deer, antilop, neelgai, bear etc. Also reptiles like monitor lizard and crocodiles. The main attraction stays the pride of lions , the great Indian tiger , the spotted leopard and the Hyena. The zoo has dustbins all around the premises, and also each and every animal category is being explained by self explanatory boards outside the cage. You also can go for the zoo ride in a cart, if you have any SENIOR CITIZENS or would like to go with a family. But I prefer to walk . You have good car and two wheeler parking facilities, with mere charges. The zoo premises could have been more greener and more number of guards outside the cage to be brought it for the safety of animals and also humans.

This place is strategically located and space is abundant. But it needs lot of improvement, animals are not clearly visible. No cafeteria, zoo map missing. Etc. The concerned governing body has to seriously look into it.

Let me start by saying this that there was not even a single litter in the zoo.It was kept clean and tidy.Only the rest rooms needs a makeover. As of the zoo it's a good place for kids and adults too to rejoice and connect with nature. The greenery is awesome. You can take your own food n drinks inside( but please refrain from littering and feeding the zoo animals).Entry fees is also minimal starting from INR 50 for adults and INR 30 for kids.Ample parking is avaliable at a cost of 50 bucks only.Take all your establishment from home only as you won't find much shops around zoo.Electrical Cart is also avaliable for elderly visitors or for anyone for that matter by paying INR 300.The car carries 8 passengers. They have a total of 3 electrical vehicles for touring purpose.I suggests you walk on foot.,as you can spend your own time in your own liking.

We visited on Sunday afternoon. Quiet and serene place, with most of zoo animals ( including lion, tiger, leopard, bear). Battery vehicle for senior citizens. Children's play area. Hunble staff. Enjoyed..

Cost: 50/adult plus 50 parking (October 2023) Food: Not Available, it's best to bring your own. There are toilets, however they are not very well maintained. Playground/park: Not up to standard. Closing time: 5:30 p.m Time required: a couple of hours should be sufficient. It's best to arrive in the later part of the day. Parking is available and sufficient of it. To be honest, the limited size of this zoo and its small number of animals and birds justify the fees charged. This is not a spot to spend the entire day, but it is perfect for a short trip of two to three hours with the family.

It's nice place to visit with family members and friends. When we were kid by that time entry fee was hardly ₹5-10. Now entry fees for adult is ₹40 and for kids (5-12) is ₹20. We could see development works and it's worthy. It has play ground for kids and garden to sit and spend time. You can cover whole zoo with in 1hr and you can relax and spend some time with family in under tree shades.

The zoo is worth visiting if you want to spend an hour or two alone or with family and children. It houses a limited but some exotic number of animals. Especially different varieties of Pheasant, Eagle, Neelgai, Ostrich, Hyna and Jackle. Apart from that Lion, tiger and black buck, spotted deer. The entrance ticket for adults is 50₹, and 30₹ for the children. There is a dedicated paved path to roam around the zoo, with proper signs and boards explaining the details about the animals which are housed here. The Battery operated vehicle is available at the premises, it has the capacity of 6+ member, costs 50₹ per person. Elders and specially abled can make use of it. There is dedicated play area for the children. Toilets are available inside the zoo. No food or eatery inside the zoo, better carry food if you are planning to spend more time. The big bird cage walk needs to be opened for the public, to get the closer look at birds. Sufficient parking available for the Two wheeler and four wheelers, Parking fee is 30₹ and 50₹ respectively.

We all know zoos are amazing places to visit, this one is not that big, of course has good no. Of animals, like lions, tigers, leopards, ostrich, eagles and is well maintained and also has a service of electric vehicles for locomotion around the area with a guide which is optional and is charged separately It also has two play areas for children, and also has many sitting areas if u r planning for a picnic.

I have visited this Zoo after 17 years....Its now developed & maintained very well & its exactly situated at a Place called Binkadakatti & it has garden also..The best place to take kids & family...But we see minimal animals & birds here. If you go to this place, you can explore another Garden near by called Salumarada Thimmakka Garden which has Zip line & Garden too

Gadag zoo is one of 10 zoos of Karnataka. Is cleanly maintained. But has only few animals housed in it. They are Lion, Tiger, Leopard, Sloth bear, Hyena, Wolves, Croc, Sambar, Black buck, spotted deers and Few birds and tortise. Has a kids park & Sitting area. People bring food here to have lunch here. I think this should not be allowed to maintain cleanliness and to make people understand that this place is for education about animals and only about wild animals. No good restaurant nearby zoo nor any restaurant or eateries inside zoo though. So better carry water, but avoid plastic bottles. Entry ticket was Rs.40 for adults and 20 for kids above 5. Parking chgs for 4wheeler is 20. Camera fee is Rs.10. Total time required to see complete zoo is around 2 hours.

Small zoo, when we visited zoo was not crowded, no need to book in advance, need to maintain toilet rooms, for family lunch or group lunch they have space, kids play area also available, and drinking water is also available inside the zoo, ticket price is also average not too costly, you feel not tired small and beautiful one. We can finish the round in 2 hours.

Well all i can say is there are actually animals there, which are Lion, Tiger, Cheeta, bear the mains and others except elephants which we didn't see. It's a huge zoo where people mostly were seen coming for picnics. Alot of tamarind across the walkway. Ticket cost was Rs.50 per person The electricity vehicle was Rs. 300/-( which was required i will say because the main animals are kept at the very end). Overall experience was lovely, just that we had only half day to spend otherwise it's a really nice picnic spot.

The Zoo has the potential to be on the lines of the Jayachamarajendra Zoo of Mysore. Good maintenance, requisite training for the staff and some political initiative is required. Saw the animals so close, deers the tiger and lions is a great delight. Recommended for a short trip of one day, children and elders will enjoy equally.

Great place to spend time with friends and family for a day out. Recommend to carry your own food, just like a picnic, there are some nice animals and birds to watch too, like Emilu, Ostriches, Lion, Tigers , Leapords. There is a buggy facility for anyone who struggles with walking too.

Gadag Binkadakatti has improved over a period of time now. I really appreciate all the sponser's and Forest department to make it a perfect one day picnic spot. Keep it up. For the very first time I saw Ostriches in my life so closely. Thanks for bringing them to Gadag Zoo Unfortunately I couldn't click their pic.

Zoo people has maintained the atmosphere very well. Clean roads connecting all the zone of different animals. Lions , leopard, tiger and blackbucks are favourite of mine here to see. Overall good time spending over here with family. People generally throw sticks and small stones to animals need to be stopped.

Visited on 25th Feb 2022. Was very Dissappointed to see the state of animals and Birds. One of the small Cage had 7 to 8 full grown Kites put up in such a cramped space, they dont have enough space to fly around, it is nothing but cruel (photos attached). Some cages are so small and dirty & smelly, you would take pity on the poor animals in there. The overall zoo landscape is good, laiden with trees.

Good place to spend some quality time with family. Kids might enjoy watching different animals. You have to carry your own food for convenience. They have zoo shuttle bus which takes you around the zoo. The lion and bird cages are small. They could have made a bigger n better stay area for them. That's the only drawback of this zoo. Overall makes a decent place for picnic.

The Zoo setup has improved a lot with greenery and drinking water facilities. Walking paths are surrounded by tamarind trees that provide shade to the visitors. Inclusion of lions along with tigers & leopards are prime attractions. In between the zoo there is a playing area for children. Battery vehicles are in good condition. It is an additional facility for the elderly visitors. Spacious parking facility. Overall a good experience. But the zoo authorities need to monitor the public activity in the zoo premises, especially near the carnivore area (crocodiles). The pool area needs to be covered by mesh from above. People throw all sort of things to make the crocodiles show out of water. Mischievous people need to be caught and penalized.

The visit to the zoo was great and we had an amazing time. The thing what's bothering and distrubing is that the wild animals are not fed properly and it is quite painful to see that. It's an humble request to the care takers and people in authority kindly take required measures to feed the animals.

I was quite taken aback when we saw this beautifully, well-maintained zoological park. Many varieties of phesants and Indian birds, spotted deers, sambar deers, blackbucks, hyenas, Indian grey wolves, leopards, tigers and lions were key highlights. Have to give it to the staff, it is beautifully maintained. Great place to take your kids and show them animals. Only problem is people were littering all over the place with their picnic items. Zoo staff should something about it. Restrooms are not clean, can be better. Park fee is very minimal and ample parking space. You would have to pay for the vehicle parking too. It's nominal.
