this place is so mesmerizing, soothing and healing. this place is highly recommended for those who have interest in political history. this place is amazing, beautiful as well as emotional. inside of museum photography is prohibited but i took risk to take some shots because this guy was damn smart. check the schedule of visitors hours before you go. DSLR camera is not allowed. you have to put your bag in locker room and collect the token. follow the instructions of there and keep it clean as well as your surroundings.

Visited in April 2022. This museum is just beside the Radisson Hotel of CTG. It is all about late Ziaur Rahman and it is a wonder that it is still surviving. Hope it can be more improved as a museum.

I visited the Zia Memorial Museum as a history buff and I was impressed by the architectural and historical value of the building. The Zia Memorial Museum is housed in an old British Circuit House built in the style of a Tudor Mansion. It was formerly known as the Old Circuit House, a building that served as a residential and broadcasting center for the British Raj and the Pakistan Army during different periods of history. It is especially significant because it was the place where Ziaur Rahman, the seventh president of Bangladesh, was assassinated in 1981 by a group of army officers who wanted to overthrow him. Today, the museum showcases the history of Chittagong and Bangladesh, as well as the sacrifices and struggles of the people who fought for freedom and democracy. The museum has over seven hundred exhibits that cover various aspects of Bangladesh’s history, culture, and politics. I enjoyed learning about Ziaur Rahman’s life and achievements, as well as the role of Chittagong in the Bangladesh Liberation War. The museum is well kept and maintained, and the staff are friendly and knowledgeable. I would recommend this museum to anyone who is interested in learning more about Bangladesh’s past and present.

If u want to see a glimpse of the past political history of Bangladesh this is a highly recommended place, but i saw closely and noticed that this place is not maintained properly for a long time. And the main building needs serious maintenance, but you must visit here at least once if u can.

The Zia Museum is named after Shaheed Ziaur Rahman. The museum is beautiful, its interior and exterior are excellent. Inside the museum are various accessories used by Ziaur Rahman, pictures of Zia's family, sculptures of Ziaur Rahman, all the prizes earned during his lifetime, and more. Photography inside the museum is prohibited. The visitors are kept under surveillance. You can only take pictures from outside. It is a great place of our political history.

the national museum of Bangladesh. The museum is well organized and displays have been housed chronologically in several departments like department of ethnography and decorative art, department of history and classical art, department of natural history, and department of contemporary and world civilization. The museum also has a rich conservation laboratory. Nalini Kanta Bhattasali served as the first curator of the museum during 1914–1947.

This place seems on the verge of ruin. A museum should be kept with sufficient care regardless of the political party in power. Major General Ziaur Rahman who was a freedom fighter, a controversial figure in 1975, Ex President & Army Chief of Bangladesh and a founder of a major political party of Bangladesh was killed brutally in a coup in 1978 at Chittagong Circuit house which later converted as a museum.

In this museum, you can find the blood of President Ziaur Rahman in the wall of the building. Killing bullet had made hole in the floor of the building. A room is decorated samely when president got killed by the Army. Actually, if you would like to go through the life of Ziaur Rahman, you should visit the place. Normal ticket price is 20 taka.

This place has some history. Major ziaur rahman, an ex president of Bangladesh was assassinated in this place. There's a memorial here for this incidence. It is still active though. It is used as a government rest house called Chittagong circuit house. The place is really nice, naturally decorated and architecturally beautiful. Rooms are like any government guest house rooms. Enough good to stay.

The Zia Memorial Museum is a museum located in the Chittagong city. It is currently being used to preserve the memories of former President of Bangladesh Ziaur Rahman. Previously it was used as a Chittagong Circuit House. In 1913, the then British government built it. In May, 1981, the then President of Bangladesh Ziaur Rahman resided at Chittagong Circuit House during his Chittagong visit. He was killed on May 30th in a military coup. On June 3 of that year a government proposal was adopted to convert the circuit house into a museum. Accordingly, it was inaugurated on September 6, 1993. Some of the personal belongings of Ziaur Rahman is still kept there. It is formally known as President Bir Uttam Ziaur Rahman Memorial Museum. There are some samples of one of the biggest killings in the history of Bangladesh. The Zia Memorial Museum has more than one thousand physical features in 17 galleries. The number one gallery contains Ziaur Rahman's role in the period before the liberation war. In the second gallery, there are many specimens about liberation war. There are a number of different materials including radio broadcasting memories on behalf of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman from the radio station of Kalurghat. Various activities based on Liberation War have been enhanced in the third gallery. There are the portraits of prominent sector commanders and Bir Shreshtha awardees during the liberation war. Gallery 5 has an image of setting a post office in Roumari in Kurigram district by Ziaur Rahman. Gallery Six describes the life stories of Ziaur Rahman. His military uniform, bags, hats and various items are available there. In Gallery Sixteen, The carpet kept on the floor beside the bed and the scent of the stain and bullet is still shining on the way out of the room. Ziaur Rahman accepted martyrdom by the series of bullets in this room. That has been displayed here in this gallery. Thus, in all other galleries are full of the memories of the activities and life histories of the then President of Bangladesh Ziaur Rahman. Besides this museum, there are three more museums listed in Chittagong. There's also thirty attractions listed in this district in other categories. You will find the exact location of Zia Memorial Museum on the map above.

The Zia Memorial Museum was built in memory of the former President of Bangladesh, Ziaur Rahman. It is one of the places associated with the history of Bangladesh. This building was originally built in 1913 during the British period. It was then used as Chittagong Circuit House. Ziaur Rahman was killed in this circuit house in a military coup on May 30, 1981. It was inaugurated as a museum on September 6, 1993. Many personal belongings used by Ziaur Rahman are kept here. Also, many rare photographs, gifts and documents from various periods and events of his life are available here. Various specimens of Ziaur Rahman's assassination are still preserved in this museum. The transmitter used by Ziaur Rahman at the Kalurghat radio station to announce independence can be seen at the Zia Memorial Museum. The environment inside and outside the museum is beautiful, pleasant and quiet. The structure of the building shows the impression of the British era. In 2006, a new administrative building was constructed behind this building. However, general visitors are not allowed to enter there. To go to the museum, one has to come from any part of the city to Kazi Deuri. Zia Memorial Museum is located here next to Radisson Blu.

The memorial is set in the grounds of the home of former president Zia. It tells the whole story, from begining to sudden end. Certainly leaves an impression, especially the doorway to room 16 where the president met his end, complete with original blood splatter and bullet marks. This is where former leader Zia was gunned down. I learned a bit about the history and the post Liberation war politics. There is good English signage as well which is nice. Well kept and maintained. The entire memorial is curated in a beautiful house made of wood, where Zia Ur Rahman was assassinated. Beautiful during the day and the sun falls beautifully on the location. Much to start great conversations around. And you can take lovely photos.

An underrated place to visit... This place in incredibly well decorated and maintained. Through the entering to exit point, it reflects the complete work & personal life of Late President Ziaur Rahman. This Museum has a long history of being Chittagong armoury police and auxiliary force arsenal. It got attacked by Masterda Surya Sen on 18 April, 1930. Later it was named as Chittagong Circuit House. Right now, its called "Zia Memorial Museum" Taking photo is prohibited inside the museum. But you wont be disappointed once you set foot inside the museum. ❤️

This 71-metre tower in Mini Bangladesh in Chittagong has a restaurant on the top that rotates once every 90 minutes.[citation needed] The museum includes a revolving restaurant. One can perceive of the country's architectural beauty, ethnic traditions and archaeological inheritance through having a glimpse of the heritage park. Replicas of major structures of the country include Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban (parliament building), National Memorial of Savar, Ahsan Manzil, Curzon Hall of Dhaka University, Paharpur Monastery, Kantajew Temple of Dinajpur, Lalbagh Fort and Sona Masjid. The park also has different rides for children.
