According
to
geologists
in
Bangladesh,
Lake
Bagakain
is
the
result
of
a
volcanic
eruption
of
a
dead
volcano
or
the
fall
of
a
meteorite
from
space.
Many
have
also
suggested
that
it
could
be
caused
by
landslides.
It
is
made
up
of
soft
rocks
of
the
Bhuban
Foundation.
According
to
Banglapedia,
its
water
is
very
acidic
and
therefore
there
are
no
algae
or
other
aquatic
plants
in
it,
and
no
aquatic
animals
can
live
here.
According
to
2009
data,
the
waters
of
Boga
Lake
are
very
fertile,
and
the
lake
has
a
lot
of
algae,
water
lilies,
water
lilies
and
other
aquatic
plants,
and
lots
of
fish
and
even
giant
fish.
There
are
myths
or
legends
of
Bam,
Marma,
Mro,
Khumi
and
Tripura
about
the
creation
of
Lake
Bagakain.
One
such
legend
is
that
there
is
a
Bom
Para
(Bagamukhpara)
and
a
Murang
Para
next
to
Bagahra.
The
indigenous
tribes
are
other
tribes
including
Bam,
Murang
or
Mro,
Thanchangya
and
Tripura.
According
to
local
tribal
legend,
a
long
time
ago
a
dragon
lived
in
a
cave
in
the
mountains.
In
Bam
language,
the
dragon
is
called
"Boga".
The
locals
used
to
offer
cattle
to
please
the
dragon
god.
But
once
a
few
people
kill
this
dragon
god,
the
peak
turns
into
a
submerged
lake
and
destroys
the
villages.
Although
there
is
no
real
evidence
for
this
legend,
the
legendary
fire-like
dragon
or
white
and
volcanic
structure
of
the
lake
coincides
with
the
idea
of
a
dead
volcano.
Another
legend
states
that
Boga
Lake
was
a
prosperous
Mro
village.
There
was
a
big
snake
in
a
tunnel
next
to
the
village.
One
day
the
snake
was
caught
and
eaten
by
the
villagers.
Due
to
the
revenge
of
Nagaraja
for
eating
that
snake,
Boga
Lake
was
created
by
giving
the
village
along
with
the
villagers.
There
are
still
many
bombs,
Mro
believes,
that
the
water
of
the
lake
becomes
cloudy
when
the
Nagraj
tail,
which
is
deep
in
the
lake,
is
moved.
