Its the Dam with sluice gates which controls the water level of Kaptai lake by holding a leeting out water if the Karnafuli river. It is in the Kaptai Hydro power plant. Its a cruical part of the power plant. Getting close to this is possible by boat. You can get atop of it if you can get special permission to enter the powerplant. I got on top of it, It was an amazing experience but sadly I couldn’t take any pictures there as it was restricted.

The primary purpose of the dam and reservoir was to generate hydroelectric power. Construction was completed in 1962, in then-East Pakistan. The generators in the 230 megawatts (310,000 hp) Karnafuli Hydroelectric Power Station were commissioned between 1962 and 1988. It is the only hydroelectric power station in Bangladesh.
