Mayabini
Lake,
Chittagong,
was
not
the
easiest
place
to
find
but
google
maps
is
your
best
friend.
The
entrance
allows
cars
or
vans
to
park
near
the
lake.
The
lake
itself
is
governed
and
managed
by
the
local
Chakma
indigenous
tribal
people,
wonderful
custodians.
The
lake
itself
was
magical,
very
calm
and
peaceful,
all
the
tension
from
city
life
went
away,
as
we
crossed
to
the
centre
island
of
the
lake
via
the
bamboo
bridge.
The
island
itself
is
a
mango
tree
plantation
of
7
square
kilometres!
I
have
never
seen
so
many
mangoes
in
my
life!
The
pictures
do
not
do
it
justice,
there
was
a
serene
breeze,
the
environment
was
beautiful.
Strangely
there
were
a
few
pet
monkeys
tied
to
trees.
I
encourage
you
to
visit
but
treat
the
Chakma
people
with
100%
respect
and
to
not
litter
and
take
your
rubbish
with
you
when
you
go
home.
The
Chakma
are
custodians
of
this
beautiful
place
and
it
would
be
criminal
to
spoil
such
beauty
by
throwing
your
rubbish
on
the
floor.
It
is
important
that
we
have
respect
for
ourselves,
the
Chakma
people,
Chittagong
and
our
country.
No
tourist
wants
to
go
somewhere
where
there
is
rubbish
everywhere.
Mayabini
Lake
is
beautiful
and
very
clean,
no
rubbish
and
plastic
everywhere.
Brothers
and
sisters,
let
us
keep
it
this
way!
Take
pride
in
Chittagong,
many
European
tourists
wish
to
visit
Chittagong,
do
your
duty
to
maintain
cleanliness.
