The Underdog is a nice, trendy & contemporary brunching spot in Athens. The combination of the places' location, its menu with tempting choices at reasonable prices as well as its high-quality coffee ... made this place an instant hit with me! 👍😊 I really loved the avocado toast with the perfectly poached egg 😋😋 ... so I'm definitely going back asap for more!

Where do I start…. Let’s start with the positives, as they are few and far between. The food was good. I had the salmon and eggs and they were cooked lovely. Sadly though I could not fully enjoy them and I will explain why. This is a coffee establishment, well known and sort after to coffee enthusiasts like myself. We expected such big things and were excited to have this be the last experience on our trip. It was busy and after being seated we expected maybe a maximum 15 minute wait for drinks and could account for that no problem. What we didn’t account for was the 40 minutes we were left sitting without a drink on the horizon. Several times we asked the waiter about where our coffee was and was told that it was busy and they were sorry. Which usually I would be fine with but seeing that three tables seated after us all got their drinks within the time we waited was just terrible service. I am so utterly disappointed that a place that is so known for its coffee would actually forget to serve coffee to its customers. We were forced to leave in the end as waiting there any longer was an insult. My one advice would be to visit this place out of season if you want to see the sight of your drinks within the century.

One of the best brunch places in Athens. Everyone, we're happy with everything we got. My Irish Flight (three world-winning Irish coffees) were the best I ever had. The carrot cake accompanying my Irish Coffess was also excellent. Pancakes are massive and the kids were struggling to finish them. A vibing place in the heart of Athens.

All of the coffee in Athens has been good, but this is the best. The espresso is sublime. Lovely garden area for brunch and the interior & bar are well-appointed. The whole place had a great vibe, the food was good, and the coffee was excellent. We had 2 freddo lattes, one freddo cappuccino, and two entrees and the total was €28. Really, really reasonable for such high quality.

A beautiful coffee shop with amazing coffee, however, the service is extremely slow. I am not sure whether the waiters are at fault or if they're understaffed, but waiting around 20 minutes to order, and then another 20 minutes for two coffees is really a lot. Very cozy brunch place, they have a backyard where you can eat. The portion size of the fried chicken toast is really large. The fries were ok, could be more crispy and flavoured. I recommend the cold brew and the sourdough cinnamon bun!

This is definitely best for coffee & something sweet. The coffee was fabulous that we all got another, and the pancakes were delicious (& huge! Easily can be shared). Service is quite slow & the savoury brunch food wasn't great - we each tried the chicken burger, eggs Benedict and eggs with avocado, and none of them were really enjoyed. Keep it simple and come here for a drink & something sweet or pastry.

I am a digital nomad and have been staying in Thisseio for three weeks. I was recommended this place by several peeps. I have given them money 5-6 times. The first time I came I had a delicious premium angus beef burger. I don’t eat beef often but occasionally order one if grass fed, organic, or premium. I have ordered food and spent 10-20 Euros each visit. They are overpriced and pretentious. It is set up for a place for workers and peeps who enjoy coffee, but it’s ridiculous the mark-up. Literally 8 Euros for some of the premium coffee BY THE CUP! There are several employees who are kind but some are also dismissive and rude. Like today me sitting at the bar for 10 minutes being ignored after sitting. This has happened before. The biggest complaint I have is that I have often been given cold drinks meant to be served HOT like specialty brewed coffee, lattes, and today TEA> literally a LUKEWARM cut in porcelain and it was supposed to be yogi tea.. FURTHERMORE, I think it is super weird to serve a CUP of tea for 4 Euros! Usually eve in EXPENSIVE UK or ANY city like LA (who do tea brilliantly) - one is given a little teapot with either loose tea or bags…. And if one is a WORKER who is giving PREMIUM fees for a cup of tea, then one would be given the courtesy of refills of hot water into the tea cup. Today I said the tea was cold, and that it is often my hot drinks are cold. They apologised and gave me fresh cup that WAS hot…. We had eggs Benedict and they were very delicious- eggs were cooked perfectly and the bread is so soft. The coffee is amazing - one of the best latte I had! We sat in the outside courtyard which had great ambiance and overall a lovely experience in a hot day. Highly recommend.

Visited here for a sweet treat and ordered pancakes. It took 2 enquiries and 55 minutes for the pancakes to arrive to our table. The waitress was almost passive aggressive when we enquired, saying “can’t you see we are busy??”. The pancakes themselves were a 3 out of 5. Amazing food- best burger in Athens. Huge portions and small prices, very nice staff. The coffee is out of this world! Just be warned- the pancakes are not doable for just one person. Overall an unforgettable experience, definitely a must visit place!
