been here a few times and every time the food has been remarkable. i had the brie blt which was to die for! it was all cooked perfectly and the portions are great sizes. i always think of this place as a hidden gem as we really didn’t expect the quality of food to be that high for the prices. this is definitely my favourite spot and i’m excited to try everything else!

Excellent food, very friendly staff and a dessert counter that's worth a detour on its own. Pro tip: booking ahead is better; they can be very busy...

Have been a few times and never had a bad experience. Booked for lunch today and once again the food was delicious. Highly recommend the Chicken Cesaer Salad and the Turkey sandwich. Cake counter is amazing and you will have to resist temptation as you walk past.

Really nice place to have a coffee, cake or lunch. Sat outside in the sun under a big umbrella, the grounds are beautiful and the food is good value for money and tasty. The wait times can be a bit longer than the average place but nothing too excessive. Prices are good value for money. There isn't a large selection on the lunch menu, but what's available is great. Plenty of vegetarian and vegan options

What a great restaurant and all in support of the St Catherine's Hospice. The food was plentiful and delicious, service was great and staff very attentive and friendly. Good menu and afternoon tea, also available. There are also monthly themed nights (view photos for more details).

We really couldn't fault. The food was delicious (as always!) and attractively served. The staff were lovely and their attention to detail was fabulous. It's a great venue and we can't recommend it enough. Thanks!

Only visited once and that was just for a takeaway coffee, so this is a bit of a ‘lightweight’ review. Pretty busy on a warm and bright Sunday morning in mid November - people were in shorts on the outside tables! Busy inside, we probably had to wait 10 minutes for our coffees, but don’t forget this is a cafe run by volunteers and it supports the outstanding work that St Catherine’s Hospice does. Food looked good, plenty of people tucking into a variety of cooked breakfast items. Next to a busy road, but well screened, in lovely grounds, with a couple of car parking areas that make any visit simple and pleasurable. I need to come back in future for breakfast!

I can not recommend this enough. We went in for a work lunch on a Friday lunchtime, and the atmosphere was great. We were seated quickly and served efficiently with really good food. It was busy, so I would recommend booking first, but with the visit today, I understand why. You are also helping the charity, but even without that warm feeling, it is worth a visit. Or two, or three...

Can't fault it,the food was brilliant ,and the service was exceptional even though it was quite busy. Didn't have to wait long before the food was at our table. This was our first time here and it won't be the last.

I stumbled across The Mill Cafe quite by accident about four years ago. Since then it's my place of choice for lunch and a coffee whenever I'm in the area. The food is really nice and the sandwiches taste so fresh. Id recommended the warm beef sandwich in particular. The cake selection is good and the perfect accompaniment to a warm cappuccino.

I always enjoy my trips to the mill. Often come for coffee and cake, lunch or brunch! Highly recommended, the food and drinks are always fantastic. The mill itself is lovely too, and the afternoon tea is fantastic! The volunteer staff are always so friendly and helpful.

Food only 4 stars as children's offering very disappointing. Ordered chicken goujons and garlic potatoes (they don't do chips) and got 4 children's little finger sized pieces of chicken. Adult food was all delicious and fresh, and the cake offering was amazing. Lemon meringue recommended 👌

Enjoyed a fabulous lunch, food was delicious and well presented. Staff extremely attentive and served with a smile. Definitely recommend a visit, lovely surroundings with the added bonus of supporting a good cause.

Brilliant food. Honestly better than most local eateries. Very friendly helpful staff. Hard to believe they are doing it all for the very best of causes. Definitely please give it a try.

Second time we've visited; tried it for lunch and breakfast. Hard to fault really. All I can think of to criticise is that it can be quite noisy and hard to follow a conversation. But that's because it's always busy! So it's very advisable to book in advance. Possibly would be hard to get to without a car. It's on our list of favourite places to dine and meet family.

Excellent service from start to finish. Food was amazing, we even got a box yo take home what food we didn't eat. All the staff were efficient and friendly, especially the gentleman who took us to out table. Nothing was too much trouble. Definitely recommend a visit to here.

Really lovely setting and gorgeous food. B Locally sourced ingredients and helps to a fantastic cause. The customer service is really fantastic too especially the lady with short hair and glasses ( didn't get her name unfortunately) as a feedback note I love a nice cold Coke but it's the plastic bottles and it's not as nice as a can or glass bottle but they do lots of other drink options x

I booked a table for 16 people for a baby shower for my friend. Right from the start they were nothing but accomodating and friendly. When we arrived the table was laid out beautifully. I had opted for afternoon tea for everyone and it was the best by far afternoon we'd ever had. The service was amazing and the food just kept coming. Everyone had a great time. I would definitely go again! Thank you so much to the team for such a smooth operation and very tasty food!

Booked for breakfast at the Mill and was not disappointed with what we got. First time visiting and husband was very impressed with the full English breakfast and the American style pancakes were amazing too. Everything is local produce and you can taste the quality. Great for a coffee as well. We saw loads of cakes being put out, so we will definitely be back to sample these too.

Excellent food and lovely staff. The cafe itself is so clean and comfortable and a lovely place to spend an hour or two. Their sandwiches are big and bountiful and absolutely delicious as are the superb range of delicious cakes and sweet treats 😋 We will definitely visit again very soon.

Food is lovely, service is great. Set in pretty grounds with a nice little outdoor seating area which we used during covid restrictions, we've also been since and sat inside. We also visited the little shop next door which was nice. Hoping to have a walk back to see you in summer 🙂

First time here, on a recommendation, great food and service by the volunteer serving staff, yummy cakes to finish. Profits go to the hospice, I believe, so your helping out as well as enjoying a meal. Can highly recommend this place. Enjoy.

Spent a lovely few hours at this cafe, it was nice and cool inside which was nice after being in the hot sun! Staff were very welcoming, smiley and thoughtful asking if we had any dietary requirements. We had the afternoon tea at £15 per person (that i prebooked last week) with a selection of finger sandwiches, favourites were the egg & cress and the salmon & cream cheese. Dessert was a homemade scone with clotted cream & raspberry vanilla jam (which you can buy in the shop next door) and was absolutely delightful. We also had a mini lemon meringue pie, strawberry mousse and a tiny chocolate mousse. Very delicious! You can buy cakes and bakes to take home and knowing that we were supporting St Catherines Hospice was really worthwhile.
