This boardwalk is almost three miles long. It spans from the south mission jetty to Law Street in PB. Activities include biking, walking/running, inline skating, and more. Mission Beach almost always has fun waves to ride. This is due to its sandbars which shift quite often. When it's pumping, getting out to the biggest waves will take work. Often there are strong currents but lifeguards are always present. Parking: GET HERE EARLY. You'll regret it if you don't. Typically the parking lot fills up completely on both sides each day by early afternoon during summer.

This is a nice place to stop and visit, it's got the pb vibe all over it, parking, nice views, and plenty of vendors and stores to buy from. I like to stop here and take pictures, enjoy some coffee, and just people watch from time to time. The boardwalk is filled with people of all walks of life, some beautiful, some not so much. But, that's what makes SD unique is we are all welcomed.

When my friend and I got there we had to use the restroom as we had been on a long trip, there was a lady cleaning them and had a sign up saying temporarily closed...I got her attention and explained we really really needed to use the facilities. She was very kind and understanding and let us in. A little understanding and compassion goes a long way, we should all learn how to be more compassionate to one another... try it TODAY!!

Arrived here around 9am and walked all the way south to the end, and then north all the way to the end. Was absolutely gorgeous and totally worth it. There's plenty of restaurants along the way or only a block or 2 from the boardwalk so plenty of places to stop for a break. The sand is also pretty hard so you can easily walk on it with shoes on which is nice.

This is my favorite beach in San Diego. It is a good family beach. Public restrooms and showers. This beach has a great boardwalk. Many shops and eateries. Belmont park is adjacent. Lots of fun carnival rides and activities are there. Lots to do in this area

Rent a bike, eat at the restaurants, walk with your toes in the sand, stay at the Catamaran Resort or any rental. Relax. Life is too short to worry about tomorrow, today. Tomorrow will care of itself. Romance your life. It all goes so quickly.

Mission Beach boardwalk along San Diego waterfront is simply breathtaking, love being able to just pop in earbuds with nice music walking along. People here were super friendly, and receptive .. Will definitely be back for a longer visit.. I get the whole California dreaming thing now โค๏ธโœŒ๏ธ

Great place to walk. Plenty of room without bumping people. Bikes are a little scary and don't pay attention to the 8mph rule. There were electric bikes going at least 20mph. Great restaurants, plenty of resting points and restrooms for the public all of the walk. Will be walking there again.

Great boardwalk to do a walk, bike ride, skateboard, or run. Not too busy on a weekday morning. But gets busy around 11 am when Belmont Park rides open up. Easy parking that's free. Parking lot is messy and some spaces are a little tight. Don't recommend using the public restrooms...very basic and looks minimally kept. Nice view of the beach and interesting views of the beachfront rentals.

It's a really fun place that's filled with tons of people walking along the paved pathway along the beach, lots of good-looking people, lots of families having a good time and lots of singles and groups walking around and enjoying the good energy and the fun atmosphere. People are pretty polite even though it's crowded. There are a lot of good looking people in this area. It's a great place to spend the afternoon and have fun in San Diego it's not really filled with places where you see people and interact with people so this is a fun place to go.

Lot of fun. The vibe is beachy. A lot of good people watching to be had there. An old roller coaster that had been inactive was working once again. We found parking right away and it was free.

So this is the spot to go when your in San Diego. Great spot for a vacation or a day walk. You can run, walk or chill. There is plenty of beach and space to relax. The area has plenty of unique attractions and restaurants to keep you entertained. And the amount of rental spaces and AirBnb make living close east. I recommend just hanging and enjoy the sun. That is more than enough. Besides a few minutes away is other amenities and places to see.!!

The beach has plenty of places to set up for a day. There are so many shops and eateries along the boardwalk to enjoy. Adivce: Take bread crumbs to feed the birds. They will come very close and great photo ops are to be had. Get there early and park at Belmont park.. parking can be a huge issue after 9AM.

With 109 thousand plus reviews views, more than 9 million photo views and a master photographer badge, Please like the review if you find it helpful. This is a review for the beach and the boardwalk together. There is no separate listing for the beach. I think this is the busiest beach in San Diego. It has narrower strip of sand than others. The board walk is nice but crazy busy with bikes e bikes skateboards on the weekend than other nights. Parking is a challenge as well. The board walk is nice long stroll or walk when you experience it outside of rush times.4 stars because water is cold in mid July. So amoung swimming beaches it will not rank high. There are waves for surfing.

I will have to update my review when I return. I didnโ€™t get to spend much time on the Boardwalk. Mission beach is one of the cleanest beaches I have been to in Cali. Definitely recommend going early if you like to collect shells. I have been lucky enough to find whole sand dollars there. Will definitely be back.

Friendly, safe, and beautiful walk awaits! It's a throwback and modern all at once. The ocean view is spectacular and uninterrupted because all houses and businesses are on one side of the walk. Easy access to beach at almost every block. You will not want to leave.

Just beautiful. We traveled here for a weekend trip from Arizona to visit the beaches. There's ample parking, so many street vendors, music, food and rides. The beach was clean, the ocean just beautiful. I highly suggest you visit if you haven't already. We will be returning in September for a longer stay.

Good place. Nice long beach, nice place to visit during sunset. There were sufficient numbers of lifeguards. Not too much cloudy, you can enjoy walking. We have seen couple of dolphins but I don't know if that is a regular phenomena or not.

Cool little Beach area with the usual bars and restaurants. Nice live music stage on Saturdays. Fire pits for the cool nights chilling by the ocean. Nice crowd.

Mission Beach Boardwalk and beach are great to walk and more - the high tides of December are now. The waves are energy, clouds are sailing and painting the sky. But please bring a bag to pick up plastic, safely. If all of us pick up one piece each visit then the shore and ocean will be better than we found it.

  • 4/5 Diane T M. 2 years ago on Google
A great place to go to beach, shop and hit the Belmont Pier for rides and games. A must is the roller coaster. It is not extreme, but so much fun! I tried the deep fried Oreos, yummy. The funnel game looked delicious also. The service was a little slow, but worth the wait. A great place to visit in San Diego with free parking.

Great place, great places to get food with the views and breeze from the ocean. Only bad thing is the California government shutting down everything right now. Highly recommend Cannonball, Draft, and Alehouse for some good food

  • 5/5 Mel R. 8 months ago on Google
Excellent beach! Great waves for boogy boarding and swimming. We saw dolphins both times we were there! Easy parking close to the beach. There was an Amusement park and lots of food and shopping. Swimming/bay area and coastal beach all within walking distance. The bathrooms were dirty... Seems to be the same with all the beaches we went to though. Great lifeguards on duty (during some hours) was nice as they kept everyone within a safe distance from the shore and alerted us of riptides and kept the surfers always from the swimmers. Would definitely recommend it for families or adults and would love to go back there!

Loved it. Went during the winter and the weather was great for shorts and a light jacket. The rides looked so fun and bright. Something straight out of a movie. The rides were legit feet away from the sand and water. They even decorated for Christmas and had a bodybuilding snowman. Totally recommend going if you have some friends or a family with different hobbies. They have the beach, an arcade, amusement park rides, food and a lot more.

  • 5/5 B G. 8 months ago on Google
Besides parking, whole place is super fun there's food, music, drinks, shopping stores, arcades, rides and rentals. They literally have everything you can think of on the side of the beach it's amazing. I forgot to mention they have SHOWERS TOO ON BOTH ENDS OF THE BOARDWALK!!!!!!!!!

Haven't been to Mission Beach and Belmont Park in too many years. It's not the same beach I grew up around which isn't necessarily a bad thing because the boardwalk has grown up too! I only gave 4 stars because I miss the kickback "hometown" feel but at the same time I'm loving the modern look, and upscale bars and restaurants. But most of all we still have some of the most beautiful sunsets to behold and share.

  • 5/5 Clovis H. 3 years ago on Google
Only California can give you the ocean waves like this. LA is cool, but San Diego has that laid back feeling you can't get anywhere else. We chill like that. Walk, skate, run, bike, eat or kick it on the beach or in the waves. Rent a hotel room or a condo right on the beach and experience Cali life like a native. Just about anything you want to eat is within walking distance. Enjoy. It's San Diego. ๐Ÿ˜Ž

We love staying steps from the beach. This location is perfect with a great view, yet set back from boardwalk about 20 feet so that we can see folks on the boardwalk, but they are not looking into our window. The jacuzzi feels great after swimming, for both parents and our kids. I love BBQing dinner while overlooking the water and sunset. Walking to Belmont and bike rental shop very easy.
