Upon our moved in we filled in check in form - informing that dishwasher and fridge are leaking water, upon many maintenance submits/tickets and confirmation from the office - that both appliances will be replace due to the water leak - nothing was done. After 3 days living there - obvious water issue - again - maintenance stating this is not emergency so we will get to it when we can. After just 3 days moving in, we went on vacation for 8 days - upon our return at 11 pm from travels - the entire flooring was damage, our brand new furniture, walls - black molds. The office told us via email that I have to file a claim via our insurance and return after 10 days or so - office is not offering to cover the cost for any damage or the cost of staying in hotel. Horrible experience - not even phone call of apology and what they offer as it was their fault not to follow up - horrible experience as nobody cares. We have to figure it out where to live and to follow up with them asking for an update on the situation as the entire flooring is ripped now and wall cut - the office only email as the manager is too busy to pick up a phone and call and provide any support - for hotel and food as we cannot stay in the place. All was cost by their disinterested approach when pointed out water issue. Update from August 22 - the repair was not completed - even with a sweet written apology below - nobody is responding to my emails, VM. Team is stating they will come specific day to review and nobody is showing up. We still have wet wall - with mold which was only painted not properly repair. When coming to the office - I am hearing - well maintenance is stating all is done - why would I call/email daily if everything is completed - come and see: Fridge leaking, dishwasher is not put together, door for the washer not hanged. Nobody cares - management or even upper management. Very disappointed.

I am giving this apartment complex a one-star rating primarily due to its convenient location in relation to my workplace. Also some of the concierge staff are sweet and always offer help. However, I have significant concerns about nearly everything else. The rent is unreasonably high, without any apparent justification. The amenities have been under construction for over a year, yet we are still being charged for them. During my eight-year tenure as a resident, I have observed a decline in the staff's behavior, with increasing rudeness and a lack of empathy or positive relationships between the manager and residents. The hiring process seems to prioritize individuals who exhibit a sense of entitlement, as if they personally own the building. Yes, it’s hard dealing with people, but this is customer services business, they need to change their career if they don’t like it. The maintenance and cleanliness standards are subpar for the outside area, and there is absence of EV chargers for residents. The list of issues could continue,,,,

Elevators don't work half the time. You are OK walking down the stairs? Surprise, the stairs don't take you to the first floor lobby. They skip the lobby altogether and take you out the side of the building. The water is out often because all 1000 units are connected to the same source. The staff don't understand local tenant laws, and it's a big corporation so good luck reaching anyone. Our ceiling started leaking and they didn't fix it. They said they could paint over it but we would need to put a work order for that. I can keep going. Oh, the garage doesn't connect to the building via stairs. So you are stuck waiting for an elevator.

We lived here for a year and overall, the experience was pleasant. I would give it a 3.5. If we didn't relocate, I would safely say we would have renewed our lease. Maintenance was pretty responsive, generally same day or next day. Never really had to deal with management except for move in and move out. Fitness room and other facilities are nice and they are updating everything. With that said, the construction in the building during the day is loud and inconvenient. Plumbing was a constant issue, at least once or twice a month the water would be off for repair or no hot water at night. We had service orders for plumbing related issues at least once a month. We did have an issue with our dishwasher so they came out to install a new one. It took over a week because of miscommunication between an outside vender and management/building maintenance. But once I made it clear it needs to be fixed and the time we had been waiting, the office was on top of it. The new latch system is okay. Only a handful of times I would have an issue, but 95% it worked. The issues would be signal in the parking garage and sometimes in the hallways. When there is no signal, you're stuck. It was convenient to share with visitors...but, as you can imagine, everyone and their mother can get into the building with the shared key, so even more strangers would be walking around. While I rarely felt not safe here, it is a concern. Elevators were constantly down. And you cannot use the stairs from the main floor, they have them locked off. But you can use them from the other floors. They should allow access from the main floor so when the elevators are down, people can use the stairs. The outside courtyard always smelled like dog piss and poop because of the little area by the front door. I am not blaming the apartment for this, but rather dog owners. Clean up the poop! And there would be some accidents in the elevator and the pet owners would just leave it there. Before we left, management did close the dog area, which I fully support. There are 6 floors of parking. We were on the 6th floor (very bottom). Not fun but we had a spot. Every apartment comes with one spot. If you want a double spot, there is a waiting list. Oh and for 1 spot its $100 a month....a double is I believe $250+ (don't quote me). Anyone can tailgate into the garage, so it can be unsafe. Before we moved out, they would have someone sitting at the gate, but they really cant stop someone from entering.... The package room.......lets just say, if you're expecting a package, pick it up as soon as you get a notification. People do not pay attention and take the wrong package. The new system is just bad. They touted this new package system, but shortly after it opened, it was closed because of issues. They opened it again, then closed it again. Then when we left, it was open again. Packages get lost, are not in the spot the systems says its in, people pick up the wrong packages, etc, etc. This was as of July, so if anything has changed since then, hopefully it's for the better. My last point is the office cannot be reached by phone. It seems as though if you call its outsourced to a call center and the forward your request to the office. It disappears from there, no one ever calls back. I guess you can also go to the office downstairs, but what's the point in having an office phone for residents when it's outsourced and no one gets back with you. Move in and move out was good. The loading dock area can get busy, especially with people just parking there. They have managed to close those areas off with cones though. We received our deposit back in a timely manner as well. We received our deposit back in a timely manner to our forwarding address. We really liked our space and the location and for our situation, it was perfect.

I love everything about the location and the apartment. I work from home so it does not effect me as much but the elevator situation is out of control. There are currently 3 of 4 elevators not working which go to the 40th floor, so one elevator servings those floors. The leasing office notifies residents of elevator maintenance but it seems like there is a new issue every other week so they are never fully operational, this is a huge inconvenience. If this changes in the future I will update my review but the elevators make this building difficult to live in.

Do not live here, no matter how cheap and enticing the view can be. Seriously, DO NOT LIVE HERE. This building is HORRIBLY managed, they do not care about you, your investment, or your time. There is continuous broken elevators, 15+ minute waits to use an elevator, bogus parking costs, hidden fees, scam-like “luxury” amenities, and everything in this building is completely unreliable. Maintenance takes over 5 days to even come look at a problem and when you seek answers, they go unheard. Not to mention water is shut off weekly for “repairs” with still no hot water. I ignored the reviews when looking at this building thinking it couldn't be that bad, but it truly is. This place is not clean and is known as the "Party Apartments" because everyone is constantly doing something on the weekend, regardless of the time. Parking alone is additional $100/mo not to mention there’s a long wait list for an additional spot for $300/mo. If you want to rent out the club house, it’s $500 for four hours, but don’t worry the entire building will still be able to crash your reserved party. Getting packages is a nightmare as well. Delivery takes so long that everyone gets a notification at once, causing everyone to wait even longer. The Latch app locks they use throughout the building are absolute trash. You get zero signal in the garage and hallways on any level, yet to use the elevators or get into your apartment, it takes years to load or doesn't at all. This is not a reliable system to use. Beware of this building and management. You will truly regret your decision living here.

This building was built in 2007 during the financial crisis. It was originally supposed to be luxury condos. The builders changed course and went with bottom barrel materials to complete construction then rented out the units. Now 15+ years later their choice in plumbing, HVAC, fire control and elevators are coming to haunt the current residents. The plumbing is totally broken, especially on the lower floors. There's no hot water at least once a month. There was a massive flood a few weeks ago due to a short circuit in the fire sprinkler system. Oh and the elevators? I've lived here for over 2 years and for the entire time at least half of them were out of service, often 3/4 of them are out of service. 15 minute waits are common and on weekends when people move out taking another elevator out of service there's always a long line for the one working elevator that rings the alarm at every floor stop because its overloaded. There's NO WAY to take the stairs from the lobby. You MUST wait for an elevator even if you live on the lower floors. There used to be an amazing maintenance team but all of a sudden the entire team was replaced by new people who take days to respond to maintenance requests. In my 27 months here I've seen people in 6 units leave well before their first year lease is up. Vantage Pointe will charge you at least 3 months rent to do that, assuming your unit gets re-rented quickly. So evidently things were so bad for those tenants they were willing to pay that. Oh and all the locks require a smart phone app that barely works on iPhone. I hear the Android one works a little better. If you live on the lower floors you will often have to take the elevator all the way to the top (40 floors) then back because the app takes too long to unlock the elevator for you. One evening I came home at 3:00 AM, the app decided to log me out and I forgot my password. Password reset didn't work and there was no one at the front desk to let me in. That was so much fun! They threatened me with a $400 lock out fee but never followed through. I was ready to go to small claims court for that one. The property management staff are ok except for the assistant manager Megan. She's outright disrespectful and disdainful of the residents. She's been so with me and I've witnessed it with others. She literally scowls when a resident walks into the PM office. The manager Daniel is just hapless. I have no clue how he has his job. The rest are nice and try to be helpful. The cleanliness of the building has dropped significantly lately as well. I think the entire maintenance staff was replaced with contractors or something because this was something that happened basically over night and there's all new faces. The residents are mostly OK except for the ones who throw cigarettes down the trash shoot causing the fire alarm to blare in the apartments. There is often a homeless encampment on the South end of the building though they don't seem to cause too many problems other than the occasional car break-in in the garage but that hasn't happened in a while as far as I know. Police kick them out every few months but they're back within a week. If you want to walk to the closest grocery story, Albertson's you have to walk though some homeless encampment. The "convenience" store in the building is a sad joke with inventory worse than anything you'd find at a Dollar store. It used to be amazing with 24/7 delivery but those days are long gone. There is one across the street in the "Lit" building that's pretty good though. Krisp is a little walk away but can be a little sketchy at night. One positive thing to say is they removed the "pet park" that was next to the lobby that wreaked of urine that was unbearable in the summer time. Anyway, if you want a relatively cheap apartment downtown and don't require hot water, a dry floor and a working elevator then this is the place for you!

This is not a luxury apartment complex. There are evidently major structural issues with the building causing many ripple effects—fire alarm “tests” that run for hours and even after midnight, the hot water cut out without notice for multiple hours on several occasions, the elevators do not work properly. The final straw was when our unit flooded in the middle of the night when a pipe burst. My husband and infant son and I stayed in a hotel for 5 nights. Leasing/management provided very little reparative action. Do not waste time or money renting in this building.
