Best gym I have been to. The energy is amazing there and I always feel motivated to get my best workout there, and the equipment is old school and classic just the way it should be!!

Other members are very helpful and friendly and will be more than happy to help you out!

To all the bad reviews ignore them , they are looking for a commercial gym they can take selfies and wait on a squat rack for 20 mimutes between sets , no knowledge or love for lifting weights . Been a member from 2013 and this by far the best gym in San Diego , machines dont need to be updated the machine are old school equipment you wont see else were if your gonna cry about it this gym isnt for you and frankly we dont want you here , its a community gym where we support each other and everyone knows everyone , its a hardcore gym get over it or leave .

I've been going to Fitness World for almost 2 years now. The environment at this gym is amazing. There is no ego lifters or people hogging up machines while on their phones for a whole hour, the people are friendly and helpful, as well as the staff. This gym is not like a commercial gym where trainers will try to sell you on "plans" or bug you on buying on unnecessary items. People leaving bad reviews expect the gym to be like a commercial gym where everything is brand new and state of the art equipment. This is the only location they have and at low cost, plus they actually clean their equipment and require everyone to wear unnecessary masks that the governor doesn't wear himself. For the low payments each month with machines where you put in the work, beats the prices at commercial gyms with highly assisted machines. Best gym I've been to. Plus the old school vibe is awesome. Also screw Newsom.

This gym is full of amazing trainers and people! I have never felt so motivated in a gym than Fitness World. Their equipment is very unique, it's a very old school gym😁 The vibes at this gym are incredible and the people there are always down to earth, always willing to help each other out. It's the gym of the champs 💪🏻🖤 my home gym for evaaaaa! If you're truly serious about fitness / bodybuilding THIS IS THE PLACE FOR YOU!

This gym offers a unique experience unlike any other big corporation also they don't have any fake weights here, I can vouch!

So glad to have this gym especially in times like these. As I’m working out , there’s a super sweet woman cleaning and making sure all the cleaning products and towels are stocked up to wipe machines down. Friendly and welcoming staff is at the front desk always insuring that members have masks, a towel and get their temperature taken. (They’re very strict about this. I even had to purchase a towel from them once because I forgot mine or else I wouldn’t be allowed in). I’m so grateful for this gym because they understand and prioritize the health and well being of the members. The space is clean, big, roomy and has a large open gate in the weight room that vents out the building. Thank you Fitness World !

Non-corporate gyms are they best way to go ! Under new ownership AND management, this place has really been turned around in the last 10 months. All your questions and concerns can be easily answered with the owner himself as he’s always there improving his gym. Tons of equipment that you can’t find anywhere else that has keep kept in killer condition. I’ve only had great experiences with this gym and they continue to improve their facility. Even during these turbulent times, fitness world has kept full transparency on their social media. Highly recommend for a great gym experience.

This place is the worse place you can go, is not corporate so they treat people really bad, no good customer service, All there equipment is super dirty they don’t clean them, if you tell them about it, they give you attitude. To workout you have to do it by appointment so you’re lucky if you get a work out ones a week, there is a lot of favoritism friends and people they like workout everyday while The rest of the people that are paying have to wait to have something open. so be careful on going there you’ll definitely catch corona virus there because they never clean there machines.

Old school gym. Pretty good, many machines and free weights to use. Most of the time people are on their phones so its easy to get on a machine and work out. First floor has weights, second floor has cardio machines. Bring a mask and hand sanitizer because almost no ones wears them here. People also dont wipe down machines, they just let the sweat marinate on the machines they use. Recommend working out when its not too busy.

This gym has been amazing. I have reviewed it before but decided to update my review because the staff at Fitness World have done an amazing job maintaining a welcoming and motivating space to workout. The gym has been moved outdoors due to COVID-19 and it’s so great to see how willing to accommodate for their member’s safety! Right now we have to make appointments to workout but that’s just due to keeping everyone safe and spaced out properly.

I have been a member of Fitness World Imperial Beach for almost 3 years and I have had a great experience. There is a great variety and quantity of machines and weights. Equipment is well maintained and when repairs are needed they are done quickly. I would not hesitate to recommend this gym to anyone.

I can't say enough about the machines, totally my favorite, they are old school, and my mind and body is totally old school=perfect match! People are amazing, from young to oldER:) and I swear when I say no judgment, it's for real. Now we all just need get together and do a charity fund to remodel roof need a fixing, just like us, we always trying to fix something whether our health, mind, body or spirit. ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️

Been coming to this gym since 2018 & its a great place to workout. That’s what gyms are for right. Pretty clean simple and organized. They have all the machines you need. Just a great gym plain and simple.

I use to go to the one in el cajon. These stars are for them.

Kim is awesome! Gym is adequate for me and is never too busy. People actually go work out here which is awesome. Definitely recommend if you are into working out and not mingling in the gym.

Great gym, not a hangout place like other gyms. Equipment is clean often throughput the day.

I like this gym! The only bad thing the guys don't re-rack the weights! That's a bummer! Wish they we're more caring about people like me! I can't lift and by the time I finished removing the plates, I m done for the day! Just saying! We can make this gym a better place for all of us!

Best gym in South Bay area hands down! The last hardcore gym! Don’t go off the bad reviews about this gym. If you’re into straight iron hardcore gym like the old school gyms, this is your gym!

Very disappointed. Just moved here looking to join a gym, and they denied me entry due to me not having a valid mailing address within 10 miles of this location. Yeah OK... what? I guess they didn't want my money. They didn't even try and help, just flat out told me no. I was taken back by their coldness. Typical of egotistical and jealous gym people who see others as a threat to their turf. Will go to planet fitness or another gym that actually wants my business.

They charge me late fee for one month, but they put ir automatic so every month they charge me late fee and the monthly fee every month, call and go a lot of times to talk with somebody to solve this and nobody help me, so they take from my card more than $100 on late fees. Have to cancel my card was the only way to solve this. Good gym, people friendly. But administration its the worst

Old school gym, best equipment, overall best gym in the southbay of San Diego.

Equipment could be newer and machines could be cleaner. Cleaning equipment is an essential part of the gym. Nobody want staff infection. Yet now where in this gym is and decent cleaning spray or towels. You wipe the machine youelf with your own towel taking the last persons sweat with you. And when you mention it to staff you get attitude. The free weights are always put away wrong. Theres no staff to check on members following their own policy. But the review from the gentleman below me say it much better. I was nice and gave 3 stars until the owner took no responsibility for cleanliness and other things so now I had to take a star and tell more of the truth bc instead of fixing any problems they had time to comment here. SAD!!

During a pandemic this gym does not check your temperature granted the device was in plain sight as you enter. No one was checked before and after I entered. The front desk receptionist did not wear her mask and everyone inside the gym did not wear their masks. It was like living life pre-pandemic. Poor choices from the patrons and from a business that does not follow what they advertise and most importantly what the county is mandating. I will not return to this gym.

Very cool old school gym vibe, lots of equipment and friendly staff. Legit training available as well, try them out.

Worst experience with the manager... they were charging me while the Covid situation was occurring and they were closed. I had lost my card. Since I thought they were closed I didn't think of calling. Now they are charging me a $20 Dollar fee. I do not recommend going there. It's also very dirty and they haven't updated their equipment.

People of San Diego please be careful at this gym there letting people go in with out a mask and they don’t take your temperature. the workout machine’s are Dirty, bad costumer service when we ask Them to clean it, And it’s probably full of corona virus.
