This is a really great breakfast or lunch spot. Very fresh food options. Order at the counter and pick what style of seating you would like - indoor modern, indoor cozy, indoor laptop user friendly, outdoor patio. Known for coffee too. Soup was great. I had turkey burger which was a good size and was juicy enough.

When you're looking for good coffee and Agave is a must go to. This place is nestled in the corner of 3rd ave. The chilaquiles are delicious. They have great service and quality food options.

Delicious food. Good & Kind Service. Beautiful interior & comfortable atmosphere. It's a nice place for a quick to-go snack or relaxing dine-in breakfast or lunch. The food was delicious as well, and there is a huge variety of things to try!

The agave Mexican mocha was delicious but too sweet for my taste. The staff was very gently. The place has much room and there's parking in the plaza. We were comfortable in our laptops because they have a good wifi connection.

I love this place, super underrated. Honestly, I've had plenty of chilaquiles from places like Cocina 35 and local chula vista places, and this place is better imo. I love their salsa better it's very tasty. In the picture I show the supreme chilaquiles which were amazing and filling. The salsa is tangy and a mix of tomatillos and regular red. So it's both green and red salsa from what my taste buds can gather. The chips are a bit harder than my liking but not a disappointment at all. Definitely give this place a try when francos flap jacks and talavera are packed! I will say that their French toast can be better so I'm not sure if that's the play.

My coworkers and I come here all the time. I thought it was pricey but convenient. As of today I'll never come back not because of the price gauging since they're prices went up but the website hasn't changed but because of the bad customer service from the manager. Not only was she rude but made a demeaning comment about the place I work at. Also I asked her for a spoon and she touched the round portion with her dirty hands after touching my money. You'd think she'd know better. Will never go back

Really nice place and nice vibes but more importantly the food was well seasoned. I ordered the soy chorizo burrito ((side of house potatoes...so good)$.12.55) and I had 2 cocktails. 1. The Ring of Fire - $13.50 really refreshing and slightly spicy at least to me. Only complaint would be I would have liked it a little bit stronger 💪 😉 2. Tamarin Sunrise - $10.75 super good. Only complaint would be I would have liked it a little bit stronger 💪 😉

OMG! VERY CLASSY HIP AND COZY GEM. menu is UNBELIEVABLE! FOOD IS EXCELLENT AND SERVICE IS IMPECCABLE. Very professional and super courteous staff. Food preparation and presentation is wonderful. Soft smooth music is low and soothing. Pleasant indoors and outdoors, feels calm and private. Large (hidden)dining area in back is a surprise as well. Oh, did I mention the menu? It's awesome with something for EVERYONE.

I'm glad to have a local eats and the menu is good ....just a little disappointed I waited 20 minutes for my half sandwhich and soup. But worse is the soup was scorching hot and burned my tongue because I had 10 min of lunch left. It was to go. Maybe if I eat "in" they can cool the soup for the 20 minutes it takes to make a sandwhich with literally one slice of turkey and lettuce.

Brought my 10 year old for lunch. She LOVED it. She been asking to go back since our last visit. She had Avocado toast (according to her, the best she's ever had) I had the Teriyaki Bowl with Salmon. The food is always delicious, healthy and filling. Their coffee drinks are delicious as well. The inside of the Cafe is trendy and very pretty. Nice laid back vibes. Service is great and staff is very attentive. A must try place.

On a suggestion from my pastor, I made a reservation at this cafe for my sisters bridal shower. From the day I made the reservation to the end of the event, the crew at Agave were so helpful, attentive and overall AMAZING! The food was deliciously made and the set up (buffet style) was well set up. Thank you Belinda, Luis, Jose and the rest of the crew....you guys are GREAT!

Sad to watch this place fail over and over. Very inconsistent and most of the time they don't have stock to make the items on the menu. Today was my last attempt to support our local restaurant. They have one vegan item and when I called they said "we don't have chips". Vegan Chilaquiles. Today is my wife's 40th birthday and this is what she wanted. Now I have to find another vegan option for a milestone birthday at the last minute because you don't know how to prepare for service. Not the first time you've failed us with incompetence, but it's the last.

Straight garbage... Standard pedestrian food for an insane price. Nothing special. Ask for espresso, and you're given a cup of coffee..? They ask your name but don't call it out. Food is no different than Denny's. $36 for a croissant and a burrito and they tried to be shiesty with the ketchup... Word?? Ladies and gents, keep it moving past this joint.. there should be an option for zero stars. And they had the audacity to ask for a tip of up front...

Ive lived in Chula vista my entire life! This is the first establishment i have found that is absolutely delicious, healthy, organic and just over the top amazing. The food is always fresh, local, organic, grassfed etc and fantastic!! Love the organic coffee and overall the variety of teas, coffees, non coffee items, its all so goooood. The breakfast and brunch is absolutely delish!!! From the chilaquiles to the pancakes and eggs and omg the applewood bacoooooon...my favorite. The grassfed burgers and sweet potato fries though!!! Im getting hungry now but you get the point. Head over and grab some amazing food, enjoy the decor, the fruit infused chilled water and the lovely staff!

Food was average, no free refills. We have to sit ourselves and order at the counter. The chilaqueles supreme are good but the French toast is dry, looks home made and the syrup is not sweet. I spent $100 here so I definitely expected a better experience. Will not be coming back and will not recommend it to anyone else.

Randomly stumbled across this place. Since I’m a huge chai latte fan, I decided to give theirs a try…and let me just tell you, it was delicious!! Just the right about if sweetness and creaminess. To my pleasant surprise they had an additional, rather large, lounge area with plenty of comfortable seating. Loved the vibe and will definitely come back again when I’m in the area.

very good burritos! & coffee! the potatoes could’ve been better but they were still pretty good. i love the ambiance and the room they have tucked in the back. staff are really friendly. parking is close if you park in the garage behind the building but it is still a little hard to find. prices are kinda high but worth it. definitely planning on going back :)

Good location and free undercover parking. Acai bowl was okay, granola was surprisingly fresh and not stale like some. The acai itself tasted like it was frozen - not freshly made. The matcha latte was awful - tasted extremely grainy. Not worth $7 at all. The lounge area is nice and spacious. Not ideal for long work days due to lack of outlets. Service was friendly and quick.

I went here as a hungry patient fresh out of a 3-hour stay at the urgent care upstairs. I didn't think much of it, only that Agave was the only restaurant near enough from the clinic to walk to without pain. Upon entering, I found the atmosphere of the cafe to be pleasing and cozy, yet modern. I thought there was only an ordering station with a few seats and high chairs till I looked and saw the entryway hiding away a bigger, chic-looking lounge, where I stayed and ate at one of their generously spacious and comfortable booths. I ordered a hot white mocha which to my pleasant surprise arrived in a cozy mug, delicious and comforting. Next was the chicken pesto sandwich, tasty and healthy yet satisfying. I'm glad it didn't take long for my food to arrive. And as I chomped down my lunch I felt quite fulfilled and at ease, the atmosphere conducive for relaxing and pensive thought. A group of gals chatted excitedly in the corner, while others huddled in corners hunched over laptops. I sipped, enjoying every drop down to the last few of the white mocha and thought, life is good. Agave may have been the only restaurant I could walk to in sight, but for the sheer satisfaction I felt after those 3 hungry hours waiting at the urgent care, I'm sure glad it was my only choice.

Food is very good, I had the salmon bowl. Took a while, but it was worth the way. They place is clean and prices are reasonable. The servers were friendly, but one menus star for the unfriendly cashier taking our order. Susie, in customer service a smile goes a long way, throwing matcha latte aggressively in the sink and splashing it all over, doesn’t get you any further than you already are. I love the place, but you lost a customer. If I see Susie at the register, I’m running away. Her demeanor was horrible. Like it was a bother to help customers. Aka, job you get paid to do.

I had the spinach bacon omelette as a scramble and it was delicious. The cheese was not the usual cheddar or American and it was a great surprise. There were peppers hidden in the scramble which were spicy and bright that provided another flavor that was appreciated. Service was kind and quick. The food was hot when it was delivered and I always love hot food.

A nice place w plenty of covered parking & great coffee & other drinks. We were disappointed by the food: home fries were served cold, over easy eggs were over cooked. My wife got her food way before mine & was almost done when mine arrived. Red & green salsas were ok. I had a veggie omelet that was just ok too, not much flavor. Worst wheat toast I've had; it tasted like toasted white bread (get some multi grain or a better wheat bread). As I said good place for coffee & other drinks but the food left a lot to be desired. Oh, tater tots were also good!

They have a wonderful matcha late that actually tastes authentic and not just like some sugary powder concotion that most coffee shops sell, although one can elect to have it sweetened with agave if they so desire. The prices are a little higher than other cafes but worth the quality.

My rating of Agave went from a 5 star to a 2 star in a day. My last experience was pre-covid. First, it is not easy to get to this restaurant. You have to park on the street a block or two away, or park in a large parking garage and find your way through many other businesses to reach the front door. I had such a good experience last Fall that I was willing to go to the effort. However, today was different. When I got to the restaurant, i stood in the now routine spaced line. I could not find ANY sign of a food menu. There was phone contact access to the menu but I had not brought my phone. I looked everywhere for a menu and none to be found, so waited in line while others there gave orders. It took so very long to serve one or two people that I eventually lost interest and left. If there had been just ONE menu taped to the inside of a display case that I could have read, that would have been enough, but NONE anywhere in sight, and for all I knew, there might have been nothing interesting left on the menu. Not worth the effort. Wake up owners! Don’t lose your business and blame it on covid. You must do everything you can to make this work.

Love coming here every other weekend. I'm sad they don't do bottomless mimosas anymore but the food is still delicious. My favorite coffee is the Mexican mocha. Plus the servers are very friendly and Yair is probably the first that needs a promotion. He's very nice and always recommends new things to try. Only thing I would like to see is more kids friendly dishes.

This was my first visit and it won't be my last. The decor and environment is welcoming and quaint. I ordered the farmers skillet. It had ham, pulled pork, bacon, scallions, bell pepper, avocado, cheddar cheese, and cubed potatoes. The portions for this dish is just right. You won't feel sluggish or heavy when you're done, but you also will feel satisfied. I do i have some critiques or suggestions for improvements. The air conditioning should be monitored. It was cold inside, especially on a day that rain is expected. Also the orange juice(not pictured), was over priced and not presented well. Although I may not understand the costs of fresh orange juice, $6 per cup is too much. I will be back to try more dishes and drinks. Thank you Katya! She was friendly and made sure my meal was pleasant and was a great experience. The crew seems like they are trained well. Eat well!!

  • 5/5 Yvette G. 4 years ago on Google
You get your money's worth here, food is amazing, coffee is rich and strong in flavor, and the atmosphere is unlike any other place. All the greeters are very friendly, staff inside is a hit or miss though, some servers/waitresses are really nice others... not so much... either way the food is worth going for and the place is never too packed during the week. If you do go during the weekend (Sat/Sun) be aware service is a bit slower due to the volume of people they're serving. Overall, love this place and their fresh healthy options!

Love to come here for breakfast, good large portions for the price. I do not recommend coming in for taco Tuesday, it is really expensive for just 2 tacos and hard tortilla chips(Est. I paid $12). I am a coffee person, so I do love the coffee.

I was just in San Diego for a short time and needed somewhere to work, this place was perfect! A variety of seating, food, and drink - all of which was delicious! I hung out for a few hours and got the Turkey club wrap, which was much larger than I was expecting, and an iced tea and the nitro cold brew. I enjoyed all of it! (They also have beer and mimosas!)

Food was good. Wait time was terrible. I went to eat with my family during my lunch break. We waited over 50 minutes for our food to be served. My food was cold. Unacceptable for this establishment. The supervisor tried to make it right, but the damage was already done. The cherry on top was going past my lunch hour.
