Although Visions Art Museum is small, I can definitely say that I have not experienced more color, texture, and creativity in any of the massive and world-famous museums I have visited. Who knew that textiles could be such an expressive medium? This is well worth a special trip to Liberty Station. The works of art are not only carefully chosen but also displayed perfectly. And the gift shop has an equally amazing selection of colorful and creative wearables and displayables.

Beautiful and inspiring quilts, great gift shop and friendly/helpful staff. What's not to love? The day I went there was a wonderful exhibit of quilts made by elementary school students. Very cool!

The Visions Museums of Textile Art is non-profit and its current exhibition is Quilted Art. The museum is free but donations are welcomed. Upon entering , there is a small gift shop and welcome desk with friendly staff members who are more than happy to answer any questions you might have. The museum is small but there is so many beautiful quilted art and with the details of the art design. Throughout the museum there are benches to sit among the quilted art . The museum is also hosting a children’s story time all summer long in the Valya Gallery. The story time event is free and runs from August 12 & 26
 September 9 & 23 to 10am – 11am Parking is free

One of the best art museums in San Diego. It's small but mighty. Very glad to speak with the director and curator of this little gem during our recent visit. Their exhibition is always changing so you can expect to see something new each time. The work is contemporary, exciting to see so many new artists revolutionizing this traditional field.

A small but free textile museum in Liberty Station that is worth the visit. We went on a weekday morning and we spent about an hour there. Great exhibits and we all enjoyed it. The little gift shop at the entrance has some nice things too.

The nicest people producing, introducing, and managing explorations in art quilting from all over the world in an ever evolving menagerie of amazing works. If fine art excites you, Quilt Visions should be at the top of your avant garde fine art vocabulary .

This place is amazing to see art in the form of story telling. I think everyone should do something like this to tell a snippet of your past displaying facts and feeling. Genius!

Twelve members’ challenge quilts decorate the design wall by my sewing machine. If I don’t make one, I buy one to support VAM.

A great little art museum - Beautiful fiber art works well displayed and for sale. Nice people. In addition to their beauty, fiber art has acoustic advantages over paintings and prints because they absorb many of the sharp high frequencies & echoes that make many rooms' stark interiors uncomfortable to be in.

Loved the current exhibits and the gallery overall. I have admired Jane Sassman since her book came out and getting to see her works in person was even more inspiring. I loved Betty Busby as well, having just worked several online jigsaw puzzles of her works, it was so delightful to see them in person. I picked up some of Judy Robertson's hand dyed fabrics in the shop to top off the visit.

Visions Museum of Textile Art is one of San Diego's hidden gems. They exhibit topnotch contemporary textile art, have numerous juried exhibitions, and should be on any textile lover or quilt enthusiast's list when visiting San Diego.

So first off, this would have been a completely 10 star experience if the latter end of it was as amazing as when I was first introduced to the culture and warmth of the museum. I had a few questions which Maddie provided an over the top customer experience, was very inviting and welcoming, by the end of our conversation I was excited and hopeful to visit the museum. She honestly needs a raise. She was the definition of excellent customer service. Then I spoke to another woman, who for reputation sake, shall remain unnamed, but you you know who are. I'm not sure if she was having a bad day, or just worked there too long, but she was completely, cold, unhelpful and extremely discouraging. She was rude and cut me off mid-sentence, very short in her answers, and did not seem to care to want to help me in any fashion. Instead was only concerned about how I was able to call the number that lead me to speaking with her. Speaking with her completely tanked my experience and my want to even visit the museum. All 5 Stars go to Maddie, who's performance overshadowed the other woman I spoke with. Thank you.
