This place was super fun! Had plenty of photo opportunities in it which was fun. I can't remember the lady working at the front desk but she was awesome! So kind and polite. The place was clean and well laid out. Bathrooms were clean.

This place was really great. Showed some really interesting history about old town San Diego law enforcement. It's a walk through museum but it is very well kept.

Best 5 bucks you will ever spend. This deserves 10 stars! I never knew about this gem until I saw a post of a "Heaven's Gate" cult display on Instagram and that's when I discovered Sheriff's Museum in San Diego. For those who are interested in military or law enforcement history, this is an excellent place to check out. Go see it! I also like give an extra $5 donation just because this is such a special unique and interesting display for generations to enjoy. I highly recommend when in Old Town for kids maybe 10 and up but not a place to bring little ones though.

Very cool museum that seems like it gets overlooked as it sits a bit off the main Old Town path. Only $5 entry and a very interesting, fun, and interactive hour.

Working in the profession I had to stop in. We made this part of our family vacation. The kids had fun walking through the museum and learning so much. Even trade some swag. Stop by....

I have been never been in this museum despite many trips to Old Town. It is worth the $5 for adults. Children under 12 are free. You can take selfies in the jail, booking photo booth, and line-up, and costumes like flight suit, judge gown, and sea rescue, and in the small helicopter. There is a gun room where one display asks you to find the real gun among many toy guns. The real gun is difficult to find. There are interesting displays upstairs including how DNA was found at the crime scene and linked to the criminal and what meth does to a person. If you are in old town you should check it out especially if you have children or teens who might be interested.

Thank you very much for creating an exhibit on the Heaven's Gate Cult. I came all the way from Indiana to see it and it did not disappoint. I also appreciate the friendly staff and the affordable admission price. Job well done on this museum. Highly recommended.

I had the pleasure of visiting the Sherrif's museum 2 years ago, so your milage may vary with regard to social distancing guidelines. There are many photo opportunities ro be had here, along with all the history regarding San Diego's battle with crime across the years. This is a fun place to visit especially if you have a child that is interested in this sort of thing, as there are police cars and other props they can climb in (or could, as with current world events this might not be offered any more). There are some more serious sections of the museum where an inquisitive child might get you to answer more pressing life situations. But nothing that would scar a child for sure. (Take my advice with a grain of salt. I don't have kids at the time of writing this review) Either way this is a great stop in old town and you should check it out.

KINDA COOL ! My wife and I were walking past here on Sunday while heading to a nearby shoe shop. The place was closed ...probably due to the pandemic shutdown so I took a few pics from the sidewalk. The old cop cars looked cool !
