This is my favorite park in all of South Bay, it's always quiet! They just remodeled the play ground! There are grills and a basket ball court. The huge open field is perfect for all types of activities. No restrooms.

Explorer Park is located in Chula Vista in the Rancho Del Rey community. It is such a fun park with lots to do ! The park features two separate playground areas one for the big kids and the other is for the little ones. The park also features one large basketball court, a path for walking/running, & lots of open grass space. The playground is so beautiful and well-maintained. The playground has lots of climbing equipment, balancing structures, swings, slides, and our favorite; the colorful butterfly play panel. The kiddos will love this place! There are also so many butterflies near the playground which my son loved! Keep in mind there are no bathrooms and street parking is only available.

I'm giving it only 3 stars because the playground is in need of lots of love, missing games covered with orange cones, areas covered with playwood. The gazebos are also in desperate need of painting as they're all peeling and rusted out. A bathroom is also needed here. Very inconvenient to go home if the kids want to use the toilet.

Clean and well-kept park. I see a lot of soccer and lacrosse games being played there. The playground equipment isn't as extensive as in some nearby parks and the sand in the play areas bothers my kids as it gets in their shoes. They like the parks with grass or rubber bases better. Would like to see some more playground equipment.

This is a great neighborhood Park. Only thing I'd like is a bathroom, but not a deal breaker. Wheelchair accessible, playground, bbq put and table, basketball and large luscious grass field!

Basketball, playground, large grassy area to play. Lots of shade too! If adventurous, trails along canyon.

I like this park to go for walks but the kids playground is covered with spiders and bugs. I don't want my kids to even get near the slide because when I looked under it, I found at least 10 spiders hiding in the cracks and they were big spiders not just those little teeny ones. Not only that but the wood chips were covered with these black and red beetles. I understand being outside there's gonna be bugs etc, but the park it seems like no one maintains the playground, they can at least clean off the spiders or spray insect repellent under the slides to keep the spiders off.

Was a fun park. My kids had a lot of fun. Has more challenging things for kids to climb on. Also has a nice walk around if you want to bring your scooters or bikes for the kids

Beautiful park. Nice size full court basketball court... great for picnics and has hike trail on the side into canyon. Kids love it. Just missing bathrooms, so make sure you handle at home 😆.
