If you're looking for a fun, safe and clean place to spend the day outdoors with your family and friends, look no further than this recreational park located in San Diego. This park has everything you need for a great day out, including a playground for kids, picnic tables, dog parks, a baseball field, and even a skatepark for the more adventurous. One of the standout features of this park is how clean and well-maintained it is. The grounds are always tidy, and the facilities are kept in great condition. The park staff clearly takes pride in keeping this space looking its best. Safety is also a top priority at this park. The park is well-lit, and there are always police on patrol to keep an eye on things. Whether you're visiting during the day or in the evening, you can feel confident that you're in a safe environment. In terms of activities, this park really does have it all. The playground is a great spot for kids to burn off some energy, while the picnic tables offer a perfect spot for a family picnic. The dog parks are great for pet owners who want to let their furry friends run around off-leash, and the baseball field is perfect for a game with friends. But perhaps the real highlight of this park is the skatepark. With a variety of ramps, rails, and other obstacles, it's a dream come true for skateboarders and BMX riders alike. Even if you're not a skater yourself, it's worth stopping by just to watch some of the impressive tricks being performed. Finally, it's worth noting that despite all the great amenities, this park is surprisingly quiet and peaceful. You won't have to worry about loud music or rowdy crowds disturbing your day out. Overall, this recreational park is a gem in San Diego. With its cleanliness, safety, and wide range of activities, it's a great spot for families, friends, and individuals to spend time outdoors. Whether you're a local or just visiting, it's definitely worth checking out.

Pros: My FAVORITE skatepark close to home! Fun for all levels of skateboarders, I really enjoy the boxes, bench, gaps, and rails this park provides. The concrete is smooth and easy to ride. Cons: Can feel packed during busy hours Other than that, love the locals and this park!

Pretty decent park. Multiple benches for your relaxation and comfort. Easy to access and a much needed open space for the neighborhood. The trees are large and provide lots of shade. We had a great time.

Out of 3 of the skateparks I went to in San Diego on a recent vacation, this was by far the best. Fully spaced out park w/ out to much going on to the point that it’s overwhelming (like Linda Vista Park). Plenty of obstacles ( ledges / rails / hubbas / quarter pipe / euro gap / bowl section / mini bowl quarter pipe zone )... basically something for everyone trying to skate.

Older kids on skateboard are a bit rude and not nice to younger kids, and there have been a couple of incidents that had happened there. They forgot they were kids. It could be a nice park

Several reconstructed buildings that were initially built for the 1916-1917 Panama–California Exposition in San Diego's Balboa Park. Current tenants include the San Diego Botanical Garden Foundation, Civic Dance Arts, the San Diego Floral Association, the San Diego Civic Youth Ballet, the San Diego Junior Theatre, and the San Diego Youth Symphony.

Nice theatre for young people to perform.

  • 5/5 sandy a. 5 years ago on Google
This theater in Balboa Park is a wonderful historic venue where community arts groups show their stuff. The stage has all the bells and whistles. Add to that a suburb sound system and you have a gem of a place in a gem of a park. This year saw a wonderful production of The Nutcracker. Later in the year there is a weekend long dance festival where in troops from all over come and dance.

The transitions of the bowls are too fast. A replica of the old Keyhole bowl would have been awesome. But other than that the skatepark is a lot of fun and not that crowded.

The park, trash all over tables and benches in backside and walkways. However, the new senior center is very nice. It is opening for Tai Chi class, Mondays and Thursday. Exercise classes and lunches will be opened in the near future.

It is a great park with a lot to offer. I used to live nearby and would take my dog walks through the park on occasion. I was near there the other day, so parked and took my dog for a walk. Unfortunately I got my truck broken into. They just took stupid stuff, but did break a window. So beware parking here. My guess is that it is not a well traveled area, so ripe for thieves.

This is one of the best parks in all of San Diego. I've Seen the entire ZERO Team demolish the entire park. Hella pros practice here but it's also good for beginners and intermediates. Hope to see toy guys shredding there soon!

Formerly the Copley YMCA, great quiet park in the heart of the city with open grass areas, a baseball diamond, a gym and pretty big skatepark.

It's a good park lots of skating if like that and Base ball and just about everything

  • 5/5 DontCallMeNice 1 year ago on Google
The flow of this park is a lot of fun. There are a few lanes so it allows for less interference between skaters. There is a good mix of street and transition that allows you to work on whatever you're trying to improve upon. Everyone in the area has been super nice. Finding a restroom on the weekend can be a challenge so keep that in mind.

The more I skate here the more I find little areas and lines that are fun. It's been pretty chill lately. I read other reviews about homeless and weed smoking but I haven't noticed any of that. There is usually trash first thing in the morning but we just clean that up as there are plenty of trash cans around.

The homeless and the pot smoking kills it for me. There's a some type of center there and its constantly being graffitied looks bad. My 12 year old daughter plays softball there on some of her away games. Not the safest feeling place.
