Update: start the trail in reverse. One side of the trail is more desert mountain terrain and the other has a “hidden forest” vibe. There’s lots of high grass along the trail so be mindful of where you plant your feet. The trail is pretty decently maintained and there are lots of smaller trails that break off. You could easily spend an entire day just exploring. Finally got to this location on a quiet day when there was relatively no one else around. Trail was difficult to navigate but I think that was on my map and inexperience not the location. The river near the bridge is beautiful. Not much shade so make sure you come prepared and I heard several rattles nearby so I’ll be getting a snake bite kit before heading out again.

Beautiful hike, Worth every step. I've done 6 to 11 miles. You can hear the birds chirp, You can see Hawks, you can hear ducks quaking, u can feel the soothing breeze, What a bliss. Perfect to take your paw friend for a walk. Just 👌 Make sure u take Snacks and plenty of water. The bridge might need a little TLC though. 🧏🏽‍♀️ There is another small wood bridge at the start of the trail that was exposed by erosion and was moved out of place so be safe while crossing.

As an out and back trail, you can just go as far as you're comfortable and turn back. Very little shade so highly recommend thin long shirts and pants to protect from the brutal sun. Bring a decent amount of water but temperature was pretty comfortable in mid-August. The trail is mostly sand/dirt so be prepared for your shoes and pants to get a layer of dust. The views when you get to the water / reservoir is quite nice though. Lots of parallel trails some which are easier than others so keep that in mind.

Pretty trail. Felt like Fall. Leaves are actually changing colors there which is nice bc SoCal doesn't have that much. Saw some rattlesnakes on the trail, be careful.

Beautiful trails. Kid friendly. The landscape changes throughout the year and there is occasional wildlife sighting like deers, birds, coyotes and snakes.

This has always been one of my favorite places to take a long walk, or if I ever feel like I want to take a hike there’s also trails for that. It’s mostly beautiful in the spring time when everything is so green but for the most part always a wonderful view. About a mile into it you come across a bridge with a river running below of course depending on the season you might enjoy the sound of it which sounds very relaxing something to enjoy mother nature on its finest.

Fairly easy trails. There are actually a lot of trails that circle back to the parking lot. Spent about 1.5 hours trying multiple trails with the family. Not necessarily stroller friendly, unless you have the one with big wheels. Saw a few runners there, and other families on a Friday afternoon. Not too crowded at all and plenty of trails to explore.

It's so beautiful and quiet despite the busy roadway nearby. I love hiking from the picturesque Sweetwater Bridge to the smaller bridge about a mile west.

Awesome trail. Went bike riding during quarantine and there were no issues. Some people walking, running, etc. Love it! Edit: My friend walked this trail a few weeks ago and saw a snake by the bridge.

Really nice, low-intensity trail. Mostly quite exposed, so bring sun protection and plenty of water.

Great place to hike. It is kind of a choose your own adventure area where you can stay on the main nature walk trail or go with some more challenging trails with many steep hills. The bridge over the river is great to have a break at especially during the rainy season when the river is flowing at peak levels.

Excited to find this place. I am looking forward to venturing more. The trail, however, does not seem to be very well maintained. Pretty overgrown in places. But beautiful part of the county.

Solid hiking trial. Tough in some spots. Gorgeous view if u can make it to Sweetwater lake which from start to the lake and back is about 10 to 11 miles. Be ready and bring a lot of water.

You can access Mt Miguel from the bridge. The trail is nice and pretty flat for the first 2-3 miles. Then you can do some rolling hills on the left trail or take the right trail and access a narrow flat trail and some fire road before heading up the hill.. Not crowded, so is best to take hiking/running buddy...

This place definitely has a potential; a lot of trails and wildlife. However, I did not like that visitors don't pick up after their pets. Also, whoever manages these trails, needs to start making visitor experience more pleasant by adding more markings along the trails, cleaning out the old branches around the river and perhaps even installing benches and trash cans. Looks a bit run down and with all the money that U.S has I really believe they can do much better! BUT because of the beautiful view, I will most likely return anyways.

This was a short drive from my apt & provided a much needed escape to gather my thoughts & center my spirit. This is a beautiful & tranquil sanctuary where you can ground yourself & recharge your spiritual energy! Loved it! Very convenient place to run to & find peaceful solitude! ( Not crowded at all!)

Great set of trails, mountain biking, and walk abouts. LNT pack out what you pack in and make sure your trash and recyclables get into the correct bin! Took a 🌟 off due to the amount of trash and dumping in the area. #beabetterhuman #trashrunner 🚮 🏃🏃‍♀️🚵🏞️✌️ 💚 🤙

Awesome beginners trail. Good place to go if you're body hurts but you wanna be outside on a trail. Light leisurely walk unless you wanna a challenge, then you can walk up the hills if you please.

Hike is fun starting from the steel canyon bridge. Mind the possible snakes, ran into one on our hike. Went all the way out to the bridge and back. Hydrate your dogs as it does get hot. Shaded areas at a very sporadic rate.

This is a really beautiful valley. If you start at the steel canyon bridge and walk up to the Wildlife Refuge Trailhead there is a shaded bench and a great view of the surrounding hills and riparian area. After a few minutes heading west you can ALMOST NOT hear the sound of traffic.

Great scenic place to visit and spend the day. It feels remote even though you're close to thecl city. If you love old bridges, this place is a must-see.

👍👍 Very nice, clean park. The place is small, but sectioned off into smaller micro-park-like areas. Be warned (in case you're bringing your dog for a walk here, like I do) that the pathways are a bit narrow. You'll have to walk quite close to another person if you're having a stroll and a chat.
