Perfect for the entire family! All ages. This is an excellent option if you want to enjoy a water park and a theme park at the same time ! They have good options as far water rides and dry rides ! It’s worth buying the season pass not only to come back on a different day but to get the discounts on food drinks and shops. They have a beautiful parade for the kids and a show for the little ones the kids will enjoy takin pictures with the Sesame Street characters trough the day. Food quality is good and they have more than a few options. If you don’t have kids it’s a great option as well ! Since you can have a lot of fun on the water rides and have a few drinks trough the sunny days ! Keep doing a great job in this great place !

We got to the park before 11 am. No line to park. The pictures contained are 9f our trip on Sunday April 10th. Lined if any were no more than 20-30 minutes. The previous reviews from months back is not what it is today. Every associate worker was pleasant and organised. The water rides had no lines. I did not notice any chaos. The food is another thing. The lines are long and it is in our personal view too expensive. The Elmo and friends show was awesome! We did not get on the water rides because it was too chilly. Next time because God willing we will be back for sure! It was a nice experience. You can only bring water inside. No sodas or food from outside the park etc.

My daughters and myself had a blast at the Sesame Place in San Diego, first day grand opening. We were celebrating my youngest birthday here and man, did she have fun. I love that the water areas aren't deep at all. I felt very comfortable with my youngest in the water and it wasn't cold like I thought it would be. I can't describe everything, but I can say that I am well pleased with this place and I know more changes will come in the near future. Oh and it is great having a Platinum Pass.

Family's first visit to Sesame Place and there are a couple things you should know. First, the parking fees were much higher than expected. $35 for general, up to $45 for "VIP". Second, the entry also seemed high at $70 (discounted, depending on date), although the kids enjoying themselves was worth it. And lastly, have patience, the guest services such as pizza and beer were made to order and the beer on tap had testers for the beer connoisseur. Overall, the parade, water slides, rides and shows made for a fun day. I'm going in the water next time.

went here for Elmo's birthday and it was so amazing the kids loved it all of the rides were so fun even though it's a water park it was during the cold time of the year and there were enough rides for people to go on without there being long lines

Lots of fun for our family. We wish there was more to do with our 1 yr old. 1/2 way through the day they ran out of French fries. They had no juice or milk in the park and recommended giving our child a super sugary punch instead. Save yourself the hassle and bring food for the little ones.

Absolutely favorite summer destination when we are in San Diego visiting family. We do annual passes every year. Looking forward to new renovations. Hopefully just as fun and entertaining as original Aquatica we loved for years. So many fun ways to enjoy the water here. From lazy river to watter slides and more!!! The food is good too. Definitely recommend a visit here if near by. Fun for everyone of all ages!!!

We went this week WITH reservations. Your park was "out of" many items: food, beverages. And understaffed. As a result, at one of your busiest, largest rides, with only a single attendant, a family member had to help stuck riders in another raft move. This resulted in a completely torn bicep and surgery in the next coming days. Your staff looked overwhelmed and generally not happy. I understand your park is in its final months, however, safety should be your top priority.

Good place to bring the little kids for the rides. Was to cold to do the water park but will be fun once it warms up more. It has showers and changing rooms. So bring your towel and change of cloths. Food is standard cafeteria food. Cookies are/like chips ahoy type Cookie. Brownies are cafeteria type. Having the season pass does help cut down on the cost of food and merchandise If you get the season pass you need to go to guest services to get the pass key voucher first the go to the photo center to turn that in to get your photo key.

Took my 4 yr old daughter. It was our first time visiting. It took about an hour to get in because we waited in the line to pay for the tickets but didn’t realize that online there is a special buy an adult ticket and get a free child so once we had that we went straight in. Park was amazing! She had such a blast. The girl that did the bubble show was amazing and had such outstanding patience dealing with all those rowdy kids. My daughter loved meeting all the characters but her favorite was seeing Cookie Monster. She loved the lazy river and she was so excited seeing the castle at the water park. Unfortunately most of the slides were closed on the kids part of the water area so she was pretty bummed but she still enjoyed it. She loved the roller coaster even though it was only a whole 15 second ride 😂.. the food I’d say was pretty average but super expensive for the small portions and the wait times were extreme. I’d recommend eating before and after the park if you want to avoid this. I recommend taking a stroller or a wagon especially with any small kids or you can just pay $25+ for a small locker. Also definitely recommend taking a waterproof phone holder because your phone and stuff will definitely get wet if not. They sell them inside but for like 10x the price as Walmart or target. We got to ride about 90% of the rides while there and even with a little wait time on each ride, we were able to different ones multiple times! My daughter is about 40” tall and you have to be 48” or taller for some things. Overall great time at the park and I definitely recommend it. She constantly reminds me she wants to go back for her birthday next year too 👌🏻😆

This place is OVERPRICED. Parking is expensive and children over age 2 (my daughter is 26 months) pay adult price, though they’re not tall enough for some of the rides. The park is small. We didn’t visit the water slides (it’s cold) so there were very few rides for us. We arrived at 2 and were bored by 4. The parade started at 4 so we watched and left shortly afterwards. Older kids may love it for the water park alone. They could play in water all day. There are no healthy food options besides a side salad. They have fried food and highly processed food only. My recommendation is to plan a week or weekend of activities e.g. zoo, sea world, Lego land, etc. to make the best of your time in the area.

My daughter loves it. 1st time was kinda odd since I had issues with my tickets coming out on their system. 2nd time there it was nice and smooth. I don't like water parks but I think with the sesame street them it felt different and I actually enjoyed. My daughter loves cookie monster so she was so happy to see him. Down side, it's hard to get close to them (my daughter wanted to give a hugh to Abby and cookie monster) so she was sad about it. But overall we enjoyed the park.

6yo kids had a decent amount of fun. However the place is shady with how they monetize stuff. For instance parking is exorbitant, regular is 34 and vip is 70ish. Food has a 5% surcharge on top of prices like 19.99 for a burger. Probably will not go back unless kids decide to become Elmo super fans.

Water park attractions were fantastic.... but single day tickets are steeeeeeep. I'd never pay full price solely for rides when the water park shuts down for the season. Food was great. Locker rentals are a must unless someone is sitting with your bags all day! Kids had a great time overall

Such a great time for our first experience! Entering was not a hassle. I was unable to order more food at first because I use a cane.. as soon as I mentioned it to the staff member he immediately offered to carry food up to my chair..I ended up buying more food. Tenders with waffle fries were actually good. As well as the personal pizzas. The guy had a unique name I Wish I could remember! He was so Awesome!

A toddlers Delight. Just get there before others catch wind. Go in the am. Up close parking is worth the $5 extra. But we went back and parking prices went up more! Meeting the characters is lovely. You have to coordinate schedules if you want to meet certain characters. And not all the characters are there everyday. They have about 4 toddler appropriate rides. Which is plenty when you factor in the nap, snacks and diaper changes. 😬. The show is a must but don’t buy special seat tickets for the show or parade. Their food and merchandise are about 20-30% priced over Disney. I’m hoping they regulate that. The water park part is fun. More for older kids but they have a water play area that is made for all ages and pretty fun to splash around in. All and all it has a nice vibe, it’s not too busy. But it’s just pricey.

I was here opening day and while I knew it was gonna be packed to the brim I was surprised to how much better it works as a dual park with wet and dry rides. Since people wanted to go to the dry rides the pools and slides were not overly crowded. The food is a bit pricey but that is normal as it’s around that 14-16 dollar price range for any theme park. I see a lot of negative reviews but this was just because of opening day and even so it was still handled a lot better than I expected specially taking into account the small size of the theme park. On weekdays the crowd will probably be less and even more enjoyable than opening day. Overall it is very recommended

This park is clean, but extremely overpriced. Located out in an undeveloped area of Chula Vista, they have zero competitors for the food service and are free to charge whatever they want. They charge a lot for a little. The water park is clean, fun and exciting. Today they had several slides closed, I understand maintenance and have no issues with that. What did bother me a little is that the wave pool was open and working fine in the morning but they decided to close it for 4 hours for cleaning. 4 hours on a Sat afternoon to shut its most popular attraction? This created havok in that the crowds tried to get into the lazy river, causing lines of 40 and 50 deep waiting for people to give up the required flotation rings. We just got frustrated in the heat and lack of shade (try planting more trees for shade guys) and no access to cooling water that we decided to just leave. Disappointing after planning this day for weeks and buying everything ahead online.

Yay! Sesame place! The good, the bad and the ugly. For starters the good. Let's just say we love taking our 3 year old here. It has a slew of rides for the height challenged and the characters are always super friendly to kids. I've seen them working in those hot suits and made to dance on hot black asphalt for 20+ minutes and they are still on point. They shifted the daily dance party to a large patch of black asphalt for awhile and I thought it was a terrible decision for all involved. But, I digress.. The photo opportunities are wonderful for getting a pro photo or self shot. Look at the Sesame Place app for all scheduled times in the day. The season passes are worth it if you have a 2+ year old and live in San Diego. Especially if you can get dual sea world/Sesame place one. Make sure to look at getting a platinum pass for the car driver, it offers up close parking for both venues and will save $60 per visit for that. And amazing new water entertainment spot has opened called 'Count's Splash castle'. Colorful and fun in many ways for kids. A great addition. The bad. Prices inside the park for food and cabanas are just as gouging as Sea World. It's a good idea to go with a good meal in your belly first. Also, a new In-and-out just opened about a mile away for an exit meal if you can wait. It'll cost 1/3 of Sesame place and taste better. I just went on a Sunday and stopped at the only Starbucks booth there (yes, they have one) but found out they didn't have brewed coffee stocked. They offered to make me an Americano. I don't like Americanos, my bad. It's a Starbucks that doesn't sell coffee one of the 2 days it's open in the week. Weak. I have also found as a season pass holder, I get a photo key to take advantage of free photos taken by the pros there. Unfortunately, I have also found they rarely upload the photos to it after using it. I have had to email the corporate numerous times to attempt to recover them. So watch you back on these. I now just take the temporary key they offer and have them transfer it to my main photo key. The ugly. For some cheap and thoughtless reason, they removed paper seat covers for all toilets here. So plant your butt on some cold, bacteria covered plastic seats instead. You're welcome. Over-all, we do love taking our family there and all the challenges I mentioned are fixables by them if they cared to.

This place is for kids aged 2 and up. Expensive and is not worth the dollar spent. Asking for parking fees is another level of rip off. It's a little far off from the San Diego downtown area and sometime with heavy traffic you will have plan for extra time. Place generally opens from 12:00 noon and closes early by 6:00 PM. The kids may finish their rides in 2 to 3 hours max during winter. Not a whole lot of rides for teenage kids.

In Summer Go During The Week & Bring Swim Shoes! We have an annual pass with SeaWorld so we get to go to Aquatica and park with passes at no extra charge (platinum pass gives one preferred parking, and without the pass the price is $42.00 daily), plus, we get a 20% discount for shopping/food. The parking prices, food, etc., are kinda high (really high at SeaWorld parking is for example, $18-80 dollars) so expect to pay for your day of fun; unless you get a pass. We have the Platinum pass and it's $11.91 a month for both parks and it comes with preferred parking (a nice, short walk!). The passes expire a year from the day of purchase, not like the old days when everything expired on the 1st of January. There's a big difference from the weekends and the weekdays when waiting in lines. The park opens at 10:30 am on weekdays and 10:00 am on weekends. The slides are very high up and a good distance so, you'll have to walk all the way to the slide, then all the way up and go up the flights of stairs while you're waiting in line. In short, that means you're not able to wear your shoes on the slide down and if you leave them at the top you'll have a long hot walk to obtain your shoes. I really recommend swim shoes, and please, I can't stress that enough, swim shoes; because the cement is extremely hot, like burning hot; and the kids won't get moody, and/or have 3rd degree burns if not higher after your fun day in the sun. You'll have a wonderful time but, remember to bring shade (hats, sunglasses, huge towels) swim shoes, water, (to drink, haha) and lots of sunscreen. Enjoy! P.S. Leave your treasures at home or locked in an alarmed vehicle because the locker fee is $17.00 per locker (and they're little).

5 star experience across the board. From the staff at the entrance to each attraction. They had something to do for every age group. We went for my 2 year old but each of us had a blast Ages 36-2. Non stop laughs and smiles. We will definitely be back. Thank you

Aquatica was AWESOME! A parent always looks for the safety aspect of pool fun. Lifeguards and kiddie pools were great! Lazy river was relaxing and once you hit the waterfall, so refreshing in 85 degree weather☀️🌡👌🏼Aquatica's "wave"🌊 pool was an absolute hit w my son!!! He cannot stop talking about it! The countdown to when the waves start is SO FUN!!! Cant wait to go back!!!!😎😍👍🏼👏🏼

Fun place for the family. We came for a birthday party and stayed in one of the cabanas. It was a nice spot that was quiet and for ourselves to get away and take a break. Unfortunately it was cloudy and kinda cold. But that didn't stop the kids from going on all the different slides and pools. The only thing I didn't quite get is why the lazy river is controlled by the staff. They only let so many people, maybe up to 15, go at a time. Then they have one employee at the front and another at the back controlling the speed at which everyone goes down the river. I don't understand why this is necessary. Doesn't seem very "lazy" when you have to keep up with the group or run risk of being told to speed up. They treat it like a ride now where you can only go around once then get back in line if you want to go around again. Way to ruin a lazy river

Brought my kids there for water rides; paid $30 for parking at the entrance and then were told that all the water rides are closed for the season. No information about it at their website or any notes at the box office. Extremely disappointed. Met lots of families with the same issue. Playground at the park was dirty with spiky weeds everywhere around. Park itself looks like a ghost town now.

My wife and I came here together and it was a blast! The parking is good and the food is fairly priced for an “amusement park”. The rides are a lot of fun and we went through them multiple times. We spent the entire day at Aquatica and didn’t get bored for a second. Definitely worth a visit and worth the money.

We have season passes, we went for the grand opening and we're already planning our next visit! The park is so cute and all about the kids. My toddler loved everything the neighborhood, the characters, the rides, and the parade! He even fell asleep while we were floating in the lazy river 😂

If you're in Southern California and your kids love Sesame streets. This theme park has rides and meet ups with Elmo's friends. Music performance with Cookie Monster. With the rides they have a water slide park. Just an eventful and awesome place to bring your family for new and old memories. I believe the leadership and their team players and cast made it memorable. Mahalo from Oahu🤙🏽

This was a nice little waterpark to visit with family. They have a good amount of different water slides, a lazy river, kids rides, play areas, and a wave pool. They also had a nice little parade, and staff throughout the park, not to mention lifeguards and life jackets. Will consider coming SOON! Update June 2023: Drinking fountain is by the showers/changing area. Tips: Take cards, they have gone cashless. Geneal Parking is $35. But if you are a SEAWORLD PASSHOLDER YOU CAN GET FREE PARKING (depending your pass).

We arrived at Aquatica on Thursday at noon and there wasn't very many people there. All the kids were back in school so it was easy to park and lines to the attractions were minimal. We were disappointed to learn that we weren't allowed to bring in our own drinks or snacks. We had previously packed a lunch. Although being disabled we were allowed to bring in 1 water and necessary medical provisions. My good friend Annette had won tickets to the park otherwise we would not have been able to afford the entrance fee which is about $60. We easily found recliner chairs in the sandy beach like area just infront of the wave pool. After settling in we found a locker stowed our valuables and made our way to a large waterslide that ended in a tunnel type object. It was trilling to say the least. After that we went to the parking lot to smoke and eat our packed lunch we had left in the car. We returned and went into the wave pool. All in all it was a nice relaxing day and all of us had a great time. Thank you Aquatica San Diego and Z 90.3 radio station.

First of all, I love how it’s a water park and amusement park combo, as soon as you get too hot you just get in the water and cool off, you get to cold you get on rides. I think snacks are overpriced but meals aren’t too bad, there large portions. My kids had a great time, we spent the whole day there, and felt there was so much to do. Definitely will be back!

Fantastic way to spend a hot day! Clean, decent food (a little pricey as is expected for the convenience factor), and adequately staffed with many well-placed life guards. Show up early, if you want a chair, especially if you want one with shade. Another good tip is to buy a waterproof pocket lanyard (for cellphones, keys, meds, money, and etc...) and leave everything else at home. You can get a great duo, single day, multiple day, or annual pass through Sea World (their affiliate).

This "water park" is a joke. Good thing this location is permanently closed(temporarily closed according to Google). I've never been there. Everything is turned off and won't be turned back on. Aquatica San Diego cease to exist as a water park and all but name. What a joke.

Our first time here and it was so much fun for our kiddos!! It was Christmas Eve and there was not alot of people, so no waiting on most rides, especially with little ones that was a major bonus!! Our kiddos ages 4, 5 & 6 loved all the rides!! The park is just so colorful and the shows, dance party and parade with many of the popular characters! Overall so much fun! Will have to return in the summer to check out the water rides.

We absolutely love this place! Better than seaworld, and the zoo for a different type of experience. We have littles and the park hit all of our lovable things we like to enjoy. Water, food, characters, games, and extremely affordable. Even down to the food and drinks. It was only 70$ to have a private pizza party with Elmo, fed up to 6 people. It was so fun!!!

We went this past Friday, March 31st for my twins birthday. It's perfect for smaller children. One of the workers said it was low crowd due to the weather. We arrived by 1pm. My only few issues were the shoes we bought from the gift shop of Elmo and Cookie Monster have NO elastic, so it is difficult to put on a child's foot. They cost $35 as well. So be aware of that before buying it. But my kids were so happy there that they cried leaving the park. I was sad about some of their shows closing or being canceled early. We did see Welcome to Our Street. The kids had a blast. Also, as a mom with children with autism, they are very friendly with all types of kids with disabilities. Please don't worry about. that.

It’s a pretty cool park just like any other nothing grand about it except the food prices paid too much for ice cream since it was a hot day and they don’t allow you to bring any food in, unfortunately that’s their grand fall of this place, parking is also small, you can come in n out with a wrist stamp but if you leave the parking lot you’ll loose the parking space. But it’s not that bad or good! You are not allowed to bring food or drinks in not even water, I cans to discover that once is closing times if your kids are on the river you need to go find them yourself, my kids were in there right before closing so they decided to instead of letting them out the same way they came in or put a set spot they decided to kick them out on the other side I was standing by the river waiting for my kids to come back and nothing than I see my son n daughter running from a different side of the park back to me, mind you they’re under 10 both and there are several exits on the river but only one entrance, if that wasn’t bad enough my older daughter was in crutches and they still kicked her out on the opposite side and her little brother had to come get them and run them out to her. NOT COOL! They should make Park policies for this kind of problems so parents will know what to expect!!!!

Had so much fun my little girl is only one year old and she had such a good time seeing the characters and splashing in the water. I recommend the day beds. Yes, they are pricey, but the private locker and cozy bed are so worth it.

LEGOLAND California ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ highly recommend! There’s something for everyone! What I loved the most is everything was made out of legos!!! I also loved there was a sensory card at every place we went to that rated sensory from 1-5 for taste, smells, lights, and sound. That was helpful to let us know what activities we should avoid! Everything was bright and fun! Even the elevator played dance music! Our entire family had a blast- ❤️

Great place for the family and friends. Adult rides, kid rides and baby stuff, too. Make sure you get there early and I'd recommend bringing your own cooler and leaving it in your car and walking back and forth. The lines were crazy. The crazy straight down slide wasn't as scary as I expected and the massive "toilet bowl" looking one was amazing.

it's fun for the whole fam" 🤪good parking, the food it's a little bit expensive but regular for a amusement park, u can bring lunch n eat it outside on the parking lot (there is in n out privileges)there is shade n benches or you can bring small packages of food as long as there's a snack size. For better deals get ur tickets online, depending when u buy them its worth getting the season pass. They even have payment plans 👍

I liked this better when it was Soak City. Now, the whole park smells like one big chlorine tank.

This place is always super fun! I’m gonna miss it. I hope the re theming is worth it, make sure to check this place out before it’s a whole new park, HooRoo Run is one of the great slides leaving for sesame place and the line for it is normally short. The drop tower is so fun, I found the bumpy slide painful but the drop one and the pink slides are great. Wahala Wave is a good slide and make sure to check this ride out and Tassies Twister first because the lines for these slides get long. My personal favorite though is Tumata Racers, you get a mat and you can race your friends. The line gets a bit long for this slide but their are 6 different racers so the line goes by quickly. The wave pool also gets busy, especially in summer. If you don’t want to try those the food is ok and their are still three other slide complexes, WooHoo Falls and Kiwi Curl are the park’s classic tube slides. You can wait for a single tube or a double, I prefer single tubes because sometimes you start spinning and it’s really fun. In double you go a little slower but you can ride with 1 other friend. The last slide complex is Whanau Way. This slide complex is orange and purple. It is right next to the wave pool so if you want to ride this it’s convenient and right next to the seats also. Their are 2 outdoor slides and 4 enclosed slides. Make sure to ride slide 6 and 5 they are fast and fun. This place is a for sure.

Awesome place still!!! Do not change it to sesame street theme park! It is a place for all ages as it is. Great new music and tropical theme. Too many reserved areas but other than that worth being a annual pass member! Thanks Aquatica!

Price is right, but crowds are crazy and when they shut down two of the major slides for the entire day on a weekend, doesnt leave you with too many choices but standing in half hour or longer lines. That's not cool.

Almost the end of the season, Wednesday was great: not crowded at all, short wait times for rides. Wish the sun had been a little stronger earlier but it was still good. Was even happy with the quality of overpriced food, it wasn't horrible :P Overall it was a fun day!

Had an absolutely fantastic time here with our 2 year old toddler! We came here for the A Very Furry Christmas holiday event. The park is only open for six hours, and it was jam packed going between the various photo opportunities (which our toddler loved), rides, and shows. There was a lot to do and the time flew. The kiddo was glued to the shows and could not wait to meet all the characters. He was also obsessed with the rides and he wanted to ride them over and over. The parade was also great! We got to see our favorites like Elmo, Big Bird, and Cookie Monster. Lines were never long and I recommend buying tickets online first (they were on discount directly on the website). Also tons of cute Sesame Street toys and souvenirs that are hard to find anywhere else. Definitely recommended!
