I ordered the Saag Lamb with paneer added on a level three spice. It was honestly some of the best Indian food I've ever had. The paneer had a great texture and the lamb was so moist and well seasoned and the saag was also very well seasoned. The mimosas were big and the insides were smooth and creamy and again very well seasoned. 10/10 would recommend

Amazing service. The food was so delicious and served fresh and hot. My wife thought the food was bussin'. I felt it slapped. I am going to ask my kids if i used the words right. I feel like some more pictures of the himalayas mountains would help the atmosphere.

Just fantastic flavors from appetizer to main dish & garlic naan. Goat Curry, delicious chicken curry. So tasty but watch out for the spicey scale, keep to a low number & ask for the 911 hot sauce on the side! Be sure to take some dessert naan home & order a mango lassi drink. Try the desserts. Mmm

Excellent. They are only doing takeout right now but cleaned a table outside so we could enjoy our lunch. Great food and service, the saag had a very nice flavor, the spices were a bit warmer than what I expect. Recommend.

This was by far the best Indian food I’ve had in the United States. As you can tell, I completely cleaned my bowl of butter chicken. I’ve been seeking a good Indian restaurant since I’ve returned to the U.S. and this place IS IT! Huge menu with plenty of variety that will leave anyone that is craving Indian cuisine hugely satisfied! Great customer service, nice and quiet, and speedy service. I will absolutely be returning to Himalayan House in the future!

I tried many of the chicken dishes. The saag was creamy & delicious. The chili chicken had a nice garlic, and tomato flavor. The curry was spicy, and very flavorful. The korma was creamy, and nutty. I ordered my heat level hot, and they gave it just the right heat to make you sweat. Highly recommended food!

Fantastic food and friendly fast service. We were here on vacation and decided to check it out. We ended up going back twice! The Chicken Tikka Masala and Lamb Curry were amazing. I only wish they had a location near where I live! The naan bread is spectacular.

Food is always great but won't give 5 stars because the food takes a long time to make so I tried calling ahead and they wouldn't pick up. Once I got to the restaurant the guys attending me all ignored me while I waited at the register until I got attended I was told the food would take 20 minutes which is fine but it ended up taking 30. When I got to the restaurant I heard someone say can someone take care of answering calls which I'm assuming they haven't been doing since I tried calling multiple times.

Mango chicken with garlic cilantro Naan was amazing. Probably the best I've had at a restaurant. A little sweet to go with the mild flavoring (just a tinge of spice) compliments each other very well. The Paneer Pakora with Mint was a good sampler. Friendly staff, and ample seating easily a local favorite!

The food was excellent. The best vegetable samosas I’ve had, they were perfectly seasoned and not spicy. I had never had paneer pakora or malai kofta before, but I loved the malai kofta.

I love chicken tikka masala and chai tea. Whenever I crave them, I come here. Food is great and the service is always great, too. The mango chicken is also very good. And I really enjoy the lentil soup that comes with our meal.

I have ate at this place several times over the course of the last several years and I usually do the shrimp tiki masala, and this time I went with the chicken tiki masala, and just like the shrimp the chicken was phenomenal! I got the spicy level as mild, and the chicken was cooked beautifully! It was juicy and tender, soft moist, and was paired perfectly with the garlic cilantro nan. My uncle got the vegetable biryani with medium spice and it was superb as well. The wait for your food is a while since they cook everything fresh, but well worth it, please do yourself a favor and eat here!

This was our 2nd time here and we like it. We ordered our classic: Chicken Tikka Masala, Garlic Naan, Lamb Biryani and half-a-liter Mexican Coke. Friendly staff and nice halal option for people looking for it. There is parking available at the back of the restaurant. One final thing is that the term ‘mild’ is really mild here

Delicious and going to return. Great to have this option, you do not want to miss this place.

Want friendly server, authentic food, and a clean eclectic space? Everything was good here, the server gave suggestions and was patient. I chose a 1-3 out of level 5 spice because it was my first time. I tried the chai which was authentic, not sweet, and it was tasty. The Himalayan Specialties section featured on the last page were interesting and the chicken dumplings with a mild sauce were good. They gave a small lentil soup with the meal, it was more the blended, thin kind that you can drink from the bowl rather then the spoon. Tried the samosas which were good with the sweet sauce. Usually I like mint chutney on it at my other favorite Indian restaurant, Bombay Coast. Here it was neon green and tasted less minty. The spinache and cheese entre was great. The bathroom was clean, had a hook to hang a purse, and did not smell of strong cleaning products. The place has a bright green painted on the inside and the booths and tables look older, but it gives it charm.

I’ve ordered through delivery services twice, and Himalayan House has been consistently excellent. Food well prepared, delicious (currently the best naan I’ve had in SD, as well as one of the only places I’ve found that serves their biryani with raita instead of having to order it separately), and their takeout packup has been fantastic-they consistently pay attention to whether or not I need napkins or utensils in my comments. Love this restaurant, and eventually will go in person.

Amazing food and very friendly service. I ordered the Chicken Vinndaloo with level 5/5 spice, Saag Aloo, and butter Naan. So full of flavor! The chicken was tender and the Naan was fluffy with a crisp outside.

Himalayan House Restaurant looks and acts like a small kitchen, including the teenager who doesn't care about his looks, nor his attitude towards customers. He was unfriendly and rude, luckily another guy step in at times but at the end, he also appeared lackluster. As for the food, I've had better...much better. The Paneer Pakora is supposed to be deep fried but this wasn't even close and the taste was forgetful. The Chicken Chhoila was something unique but again forgetful...and both dishes looked unappealing and slapped together. The Lamb Tikka Masala was simple and basic (not good) while the Mushroom Tikka Masala was decent. Suffice to say that we'll NEVER come back her again and ward off any one from trying this place, it's just not worth your time.

I went there because it said Dine-In, I was entertaining guests from out of town. When I got there, the dining area was closed off. I asked the guy why it said dine in when it clearly wasn’t, he said he didn’t know. He says if I wanted dine in I could go to another place down the street (SMH). Food was good, but too much sauce for the few pieces of meat in the container.

I haven't had a lot of experience with Indian food. The waiter was very helpful. All the meat was tender. Portions were on the small side for the price. All and all good and reasonable.

One of the BEST’S in San Diego/Chula Vista They always start with their signature Himalayan daal soup which is complimentary. Food & service is exceptional good 🤤. Their vegetarian options are also good specifically: - Panner Chilly (appetizer) - Malai Kofta - Panner Tikka Masala - Garlic Cilantro Naan - Vegetable Biryani - Mango Lassi They also gives you options for hot level from 1-5. Level 3 or 4 is recommended.

We went here for dinner after seeing an ad in a mailer. They have a large menu selection with Himalayan and Nepalese dishes. We had Samosa's for an appetizer and ordered Chicken Chilli and MoMo for the main course. The food was fresh and delicious and the spice level of the Chicken Chilli was just right for me. The service was quick and the atmosphere was nice. Glad we tried them out. We will return.

Among the best Indian food I’ve ever had. Everything was fresh and delicious. I had lamb tikka masala and the flavor was fantastic. My wife had Aloo Gobi and she said it was very good. My mother had chicken curry and she loved it. The waiter was very attentive and friendly, kept the water glasses filled which we needed. They were very fast, we were in and out in about an hour. Wish there was a little better atmosphere but the quality and flavor of the food more than made up for it.

delicious food and off the hook service. Totally recommend it. I had the chicken biryani and salad and dumplings, so good! The dressings too! Big portions and the price is right. You won't regret it.

Mixed feelings with this restaurant. I didn't liked it at all, for me a lot of flavor was missing, but my husband liked it, but he won't return lol.

The aromatic flavor of Biryani always tantalize my palate and this lamb offering isn’t an exception, I will definitely order again 😋 📍 Himalayan House Restaurant 🍚 Lamb Biryani 🍗 Mixed Tandoori with Garlic Naan

This was some of the best food we've ever had anywhere. It is amazing and with great service constitutes an excellent dining experience. I had the lamb Korma and the creamy coconuty flavour was out of this world good. My wife had lamb kadai and it was spicy, rich, complex. The lamb in both was tender and tasty. We finished the meal off with mango lassi and chai tea. What an Excellent way to conclude a flavour sensation of a meal.

We ended up here by mistake and it was the BEST food experience! Amazing food, friendly staff and just wonderful. I wish we were locals so we can continue coming here. One of my favorite places for foods on my list!

Went to the new location at the mall and the food was absolutely wonderful! My husband ordered something a little to spicy and they made him a new dish that he absolutely loved. I will definitely be coming back and telling my friends and family! Best Indian food in Chula Vista!

Wanted to try something new and we weren’t disappointed. You can smell it’s going to be good upon walking in the door! Staff was friendly and soup was delivered quickly after we ordered. The appetizer was crispy and hot and the entree even better. Nice table setting and comfortable atmosphere. Parking off street in back.
