Their house fried rice and chicken teriyaki bowl were sooooooo good!!!! I love coming here when in Chula Vista

Came for dinner on a Wednesday Night and it was slow with about 20 % of the tables taken. Nice service, very polite. We ordered edamame to start, and they give you A LOT, and it's in a deep dish plate so all the sauce is there for you to redip some edamame if want. For rolls, we got the Anaheim -- this was alright, classic roll to balance out the Taco Mexicano which was such a fun surprise! Honestly, you should go to try this roll, they NAILED the taste, my brain did not know it was eating sushi because it tasted like a taco but the best of both worlds!! We also got salmon nigiri to test out their fish and rice, and the fish was nice and fresh but their rice wasn't seasoned enough, rice was a bit hard. Overall will come back, to try a few rolls!

The lunch special is awesome! $7.75 total with tax included. I would say they bowls are a little on the pricier side and smaller in size compared to other places I've been to.

I enjoyed my eastlake roll. Shrimp Tempura was very tasty. Service was amazing great staff.

This is my daughter's favorite restaurant to eat at. She loves their lunch special teriyaki chicken. For $8.95 it's a great value and they have 4 other options. You get miso soup, 4 pieces of a Cali or spicy tuna roll, salad, steamed rice and your entree choice. Our only negative criticism is the salad. Eaten here numerous times and the salad is not that great. The dressing is gross and greens usually appear to be less than crisp. But everything else is top notch. And they don't charge extra for you to carry out your miso soup as with other Asian restaurants and sushi spots. THEIR SUSHI IS BOMB and they have a large selection as well.

You ever go to a place for the first time and it's great! Then the next time it's like man what happened. Food was alright this time but the service was good still good. Pretty chill spot.

Used to be a better place to eat before. Had three rolls and only one was fresh. The other ones tasted old. Service is still good. But unfortunately the food is not.

Waiter took our order and we waited an hour for our food to get served and it turned out the order was never placed. Waiters kept passing by including an instant in which one of the waiters asked the side tables if they needed everything and ours was skipped, maybe because we didn’t have food served, but either way I kept seeing that they would look over and no one approached us until about the hour. Sadly, I can’t even say it was packed as there was about 4-5 tables with customers. We ended up leaving. They need better attention to customers waiting for a long time. Hopefully this was just a one time occurrence as this place does have good sushi.

Had the 3/2/2 Shashimi combo.... Fish was quite salty.... Spicy edemami was good but overly sauscy, miso soup and saki were great. Price for what it was, was high IMO. Not sure that I will be back.

California Sushi is on point! The service is freakin AWESOME! The staff consistently checks on you. The food tasted delicious and the rolls tightly wrapped ... folks if you r in the area or looking for delicious Sushi 🍣 add this place to your to eat places.

Food was alright. The girl servers were kind and attentive. One member of the staff was passive aggressive and outright rude. I will not be returning because of my experience with this worker.

California Sushi is a great spot to grab some lunch with friends and family or even have a romantic dinner. This visit I had lunch with my buddy. We decided to go with the Bonita roll, spicy tuna, crunch, and the Indy. California Sushi does some amazing rolls with lemon slices. The Indy is one of them. When I say the flavor of this roll was an explosion in your mouth I'm not exaggerating. It was delicious 😋 Staff is super attentive and nice. All of the plates going by looked great and smelled so good. They have a great selection of rolls, hot plates, appetizers and even some beers and drinks. Outside patio is available if you want to snack and people watch. Definitely a must try when visiting Third Avenue.

First we went because we were hungry & I ordered food include Kid's Menu, drinks, & green tea dessert was $17.

The last 3 weeks I have ordered delivery and I don't know if they changed chef or what but they have not put attention to my requests. Very disappointing. I've been eating or ordering delivery since 3 years ago and had no problem, but lately either something is missing, or what I ordered is wrong or the rolls fall apart. And with those prices (high) you expect great taste, service and presentation. Sorry to say it definitely has not been that lately.

Service was blindingly fast. I had the shrimp tempura which was good. Miso soup if that's what it was was suspicious. Food is good not great but good. If you're around there and in a hurry this is your place. Prices are moderate maybe a little bit more than I would want to spend for that kind of place but okay.

Happy Hour from 2 to 4pm! Yes please! $5 Fried Rice and $6 and $7 specialty rolls...I am full and can't even finish the rest. My server was kind and cute. I will definitely be back!

Its not bad but there are a couple of better places in Chula Vista. I tried the Indy Roll and Ika Ring

Zero stars if I could. HARD PASS find somewhere else if u could. Told me it would take 45 mins for a sushi roll to go. This place is wack!!! I told the lady at the front that I am just asking for food to go but she told me we cant put your food in front of others. I understand you busy and dont have seating but it shouldn't take that long to make a sushi roll. I asked if I could order and pay and if it cant come out in time for me to get back to work for lunch in time can i just get a refund or something. she still said no because what if they make the food. Idk thats crazy if i order and you cant get the order to go in 30 mins then thats your guys bad. I Google this place and drove over from my lunch break they should have some kind of disclaimer on google or yelp so people dont drive all the way there to order. Their customers service is not ok something is up with how their managing their store. Their restaurant is full to capacity every table is occupied. probably more than their allowed to have during the pandemic. Its a super small place and there were definitely like 50-75 people in there. kinda shady!!!

I dont usually like sushi but they have a veggie roll and you could substitute the seaweed for a soy wrap instead and its flavorless. I never thought I would be eating sushi, one step at a time and this was actually really good and fresh

Pizza roll is a new one for me, but it was very good.

I had this little hole in the wall last night. I was expecting it to be not that great but was pleasantly surprised that is was really good. I started off with some Miso Soup,and Fried Gyoza both were good but I have mixed feelings of the dipping sauce for the Gyoza. Then I order the Chula Vista roll, it was different from what I was use to but it was still very good. I Ended with the very Sweet Bakersfield Roll Shrimp,Cream Cheese, Banana, in a sweet sauce. Great for a dessert.
