We ordered the veggie bowl, feta omelet, tiramisu pancakes and the French toast, the food was delicious. The decor and the vibe is so cute too. It’s more of a tapas place so they’ll most likely suggest you order 2 plates. The service was great. We found street parking for $1.25/hour

The best breakfast experience I’ve ever had. So happy to have stumbled upon Cafe21 while visiting San Diego for a work conference. I had a caramel latte that included fragrant flowers that I smelled with each sip. I had the cranberry turkey egg benedict that was the perfect combination of sweet and savory with a beautifully poached egg and greens. And I then finished my meal with a Dutch pancake with a soft center and crispy edge and caramelized blueberries on top. Everything I ate was heavenly and my server Tyler was amazing. Highly recommend. I’m from New Orleans and Cafe21 proved that even my food city needs to step it up!

I've been looking forward to coming to this place for a while because I liked that they have small plates for you to dive into different flavors without being overly full. When we were greeted by our waitress, she recommended that we have 2 small plates per a person. All of us were satisfied without feeling gluttonous or too stuffed, so 2 plates are perfect! All our dishes are pictured. One of the best things I had outside of the food was the Ginny tea. Absolutely delicious and came out smoking (due to dry ice). Very fun and delicious. I didn't realize how large it would be, it's enough for 2-3 people. Also, there are options for Vegan, Vegetarian folks. The aesthetic of the restaurant was stunning! They have a wall full of wines I wish I could have gotten a closer look at! Everyone from the host to server to those bussing was very kind.

Voted Best Brunch restaurant in San Diego and I see why. I ordered the Vegan French Toast with a side of Lamb Meat Balls and fresh squeezed orange juice. The Vegan French toast was very yummy the presentation is not the norm and I like that. The texture of the toast was a-little tough but I still enjoyed every bit. The star of the show was the Lamb meatballs absolutely amaZing! I decided to sit outside to people watch and to take in the weather but inside seating is really cool with the unique decor. I forgot to mention this restaurant has a small boutique attached with little treasures you can’t help to buy. This place is a Must Try!😊

This place is a must! Went here for all 3 of my breakfasts while visiting. The food is exceptional. They have some very unique but well thought out dishes. The flavors were exceptional. Their food is made from scratch and you can tell everytime. They suggested ordering two dishes because they are smaller but quite frankly they were perfect portions. If you are used to large American style breakfasts then maybe order two but one always satisfied me. The service is great and the atmosphere is very charming.

Amazing food, but service needs improvement. They sat us at the bar. I had to get up and get menus because no one brought them to us, and there was no one to flag down. The bartender then took our order and our food came. They didn’t bring us utensils. I had to again get up again and go find my own utensils and napkins. Our server didn’t check up on us to ask how things were or if we needed anything until after we were done eating. At the end of all that when it comes to paying, they still suggest an 18% minimum tip. I would still come back here because the food was excellent, but they really need to improve their service.

Awesome breakfast place in Gaslamp San Diego. Perfect amount of dishes and really tasty food. You can spend all morning sitting and enjoying food with family and friends. Many vegetarian options are available. You should opt for pancakes.

Beautiful space. Amazing good and even more amazing drinks. One of the best lattes of my life! I'll be happy when they offer more vegan friendly options though.

I tried the vegan French toast and overnight oats and Brando got the Turkey Benny and we both absolutely loved it. So deliciously crafted with unique and wonderful flavors! They also have a ton of interesting and unique cocktail creations! We sat outside on the patio but the inside is so incredibly cute! I definitely recommend visiting!

Great space in the 5th Avenue, to have a European style breakfast. They have indoor and outdoor space, and the indoor is cozy and beautiful. The service was very good and the servers are all very nice and friendly. The restrooms are small and you may wait a long time to use it. The food is great and the prices are reasonable.

Super duper cute place! All the drinks are beautiful. I tried the bloody mary with a grilled cheese, very tasty. I also got the rosemantic which had a flower ice cube. I also recommend the lavender butterfly pea flower tea! The food is small tapas style so get a few to share. I really like the Tiramisu pancakes and the lamb kufta omelet.

This place offers a cute little patio that’s dog friendly. They had several vegan options for us and I love their craft coffee drinks. This hummus veggie plate was beautiful to look at and delicious to eat. Stopping in this patio on a sunny day is just one reason I love San Diego!

Definitely one of my favorite brunch spots. The menu is unique and unlike anything I’ve ever seen before!! Each food is so beautiful and they seem to be made with so much love. We had a huge spread when we came so I have lots of pictures to share!! The indoor shop is adorable and I love the outdoor seating patio as well!!

Good food. Be warned that it is a tapas style menu. The food is small portions so be prepared to order things separately. Service was excellent we ended going on a Thursday morning and they were still busy. Seating is outdoors right now. They do have an indoor store to shop at if you’re waiting for a table. I recommend the French toast.

The food was good and flavorful. The staff was friendly enough but appeared maybe a little overworked with the table to server ratio. Food took quite awhile to come out but didn’t appear to have been sitting as the dish was hot and the salad fresh and crisp. Overall a decent experience.

They create the very last word on lattes - the most artistic and delightful latte you'll have all year. Their food and service are fantastic as well, incredibly thoughtful all around.

Food was delicious they have some vegan options which is nice. I'm vegetarian so I had their dutch banana caramel pancake it is amazing. The portions are small they recommend 3 small plates so it can get pricey each plate is about $8. I just had the one with a delicious iced latte with almond milk it was so good! Definitely recommend but keep in mind the portions are small.

So good! This is a must come to have breakfast in San Diego! The plates are a bit smaller but the price is good so it gives you the opportunity to order two different plates, which is great because sometimes you want to try a lot of things from the menu so it give you an opportunity to do that. Everything delicious 😋!

Cafe 21 is a place that always seems to be crowded and a wait to get a table. With that said, it is well worth the wait. Both breakfast and lunch are served in a fine dining atmosphere daily till 3pm except closed on Monday and Tuesday. On this occasion, my date and I waited 20 minutes. Once inside we were presented with menus or we could use the QR scan codes that were on each table. Our drink order was taken immediately, and shortly after our choice of food. My date ordered the avocado toast which came with a poached egg and some seasoning on top. I ordered the French toast which was accompanied be slices of various fresh fruits. Both of us throughly our selections. The wait staff were very accommodating and checked back regularly. Prices were within range for San diego area. A wonderful experience overall.

Food is Amazing.Decor is Amazing. Service is hit or miss. I have gone at least 15 times and its slowly starting to loose its "ethnic" appeal...... its a Turkish/Azerbaijani influenced menu which again is AMAZING but now they play really vulgar rap music. Im all for trying new things but at the time of the #metoo movement, it was surprising to hear such vulgar music being blasted inside. I hope management ( and female owner) take note.

Amazing food, ambience and service! If you're in this area, do not miss out on brunch here. The shrimp corn cake, pesto sandwich and Tiramusu pancakes were my absolute favourite 😍 the mimosa flight was such a delight.

Absolutely delicious with a friendly atmosphere!! The dishes are a little small, but still very filling. We got 2 dishes each and I had to take most of 1 to go since I was so full. Everything is excellently cooked and the flavors are really great. The food here is farm to table and you can really taste it. The Mediterranean fried rice is a unique must-try!

Fun place for breakfast! Interesting drinks and entrees. Staff are kind and attentive. The ambience is very lively. The food isn’t out of this world but dishes are very extra on presentation (for those that like to post on social media). What I recommend: Their coffee beverages, mimosa testers, salmon cake, crepés

This was a great experience! This place stands out with their vibes and food. They have small plates so we ordered the Mediterranean rice, tiramisu pancakes, and the chicken pesto sandwich. The tiramisu pancakes were out of the world divine! And the chicken pesto sandwich is the best done sandwich I’ve ever had! The Mediterranean rice were just ok! The decor was just outstanding. They had a lot of cool knick knacks from around the world and a great selection of dried flowers to shop! This is a must do when visiting San Diego!!!

Visited during Covid time. Be ready to wait in the lines for minimum 30min during the peak lunch time . Food quantity ( portion size ) is very less . So , it’s better to order 2 plates per person ( adult ) . Food was excellent as per the reviews written by others . Tiramisu Pancake was heavenly .

We were visiting from Kansas and wanted just a regular breakfast. We saw this spot and decided to try. Once we looked at the menu we were about to leave, but the waiter suggested that we stay and try a few items he recommended. I am so glad we stayed, this was the BEST breakfast I have had. The atmosphere was very upbeat, friendly, oh I can not forget its the cutest spot!!

This place is cool, great vegan food and I'm vibe'n on the golden Era 90's hip hop playing in the background. Very cool spot.

Highly recommend this place. When I lived in Burbank I would come here quite a bit. Amazing beers on tap. What little food they have is quite good. And you better love humans, cause you will be rubbing up against them all night if you go on a weekend. It can get pretty tight. Well worth it though.

Excellent service. They're just offering to take out. I tried the Feta Omelette and it's been one of the best omelettes of this flavour I've ever tried. It has mozarella cheese too and the two cheesy flavours in combination with the pesto and the spinach it's a perfect balance of taste in every bite you have. I also tried the Shrimp Corn Cake and it's another good example of merry-go-round tasty flavours. Important to say, the coffee is a nice surprise, strongly bodied with a good final taste. I definitely will come back and highly recommend.

Found this Cafe by chance while visiting San Diego with a girlfriend. This place is AMAZING - the food is phenomenal and service is worthy of a 5-star restaurant. All the food is locally supplied and the dishes are a superb mix of flavors. They offer small plates which encourages people to try different things and the mix and match options are unbelievable. I had the feta and spinach omelet which came in a warm cast iron pan. I paired it with an avocado sandwich which was the best avocado sandwich I have ever had. On a tin slice of really nice bread I believe they had a thin layer of pesto which was amazing. They recomended to us to try the potato pancake - my friend ordered it along with the omlet to which she added brisket. All the dishes where amazing, but aside of that I couldn’t believe the amazing service we had - everyone was just fantastic and we had a great time. They have a store section inside which is very unique - the owner is from Azerbaijan, so there are different teas, unique jams (walnut jam is fantastic!), great tea pots and so much more. By far this cafe is on top of my list, if you are in San Diego you must visit it...hope to be able to visit them again soon.

We dropped in randomly because the line at the sushi place was way too long and we were starving. We were surprised to learn it was "just brunch". My wife had a couple of signature cocktails - I had some wine - she ordered the pesto chicken sandwich - I had the avocado toast - and we started with the crudites. Everything was excellent and reasonably priced. The food is the star for sure. Ambiance and service were good but not anything over the top - thus the four versus five stars.
