My husband and I chose this dive for breakfast this morning, which left us both feeling super sick to our stomachs when we left here. My silverware was all dirty for starters. Seemed understaffed, no host/hostess, just one person cooking & one waitress. The waitress was very inattentive & not very friendly. The homestyle potatoes were undercooked & tough & my over easy eggs were also undercooked. The pancakes were also horribly dry & overcooked. Nothing was hot & fresh. It had obviously been sitting out awhile before it finally made it to our table. The portions were very meager & small. If you want decent size portions and hot quality food, I suggest the Family House of Pancakes by the Chula Vista Center instead. This was our first visit here & fortunately our last. I do NOT recommend this dirty dive to anyone.

My favorite place to get breakfast. Quick and friendly service. I always get the machaca plate (pic attached).

Nice and clean restroom. Some don't think about that area during the review. I think that reflects the attitude of management. They care about the customer. I got the pastrami plate for breakfast. I enjoyed the pancakes and hash browns as sides. No pics of the meal but attached the posted business hours.

Horrible management. The omelet was not even an omelet. The more I tried to eat the steak the more RAW it was towards the middle. So much butter on the toast and the manager doesn't even TRY to do something about this. He takes back my steak and COOKS it. That's SO unsafe for others!

🚨WARNING DO NOT EAT HERE🚨 This was a horrible experience..My Wife And I Stopped To Eat Here For Breakfast As We Like To Try New Places And Oh Boy Do I Regret This One Till This Day .. For Starters The Waiters Walk Around With Dirty Aprons And They Smell Like Rotten Eggs and Meat..The Food It’s Undercooked And The Portions they Serve Are Mediocre.. And Do Not Even Bother To Ask For The Manager As He Is The Worst Of Them All..Unprofessional And Completely Rude And Verbally Aggressive..🚨DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY IN THIS DUMP🚨

I have lived in Chula Vista for 21 years and never visited this place. Went there for breakfast since a friend visited from LA, and it was great! Had the Eggs Benedict with hash brown s, and loved it. But it was the French toast that my friend ordered that was extraordinary! Best I've ever had. They were delicious, and had very generous portions accompanied by bacon strips and potatoes. I will definitely order them the next time. The service is excellent, and you can't tell from outside but it's a very spacious old style place.

Not busy compared to all the other "famous" breakfast restaurants in downtown chula vista. Very friendly staff. Good food. Very peaceful atmosphere.

This is by far the best breakfast restaurant in the area! The quality and price will beat any breakfast chain restaurant out there and even the smaller ones don't come close. There is lots of room here so you can have parties as well. The staff is wonderful and remember many of the customers that come in. The price for what you get is great along with the large amount you get as well! There is only one down side is the restrooms.

Service was great, food was not. Pancakes are too dry, turkey sandwiches had a very plain taste. Bottom line, this was our first time visiting this place and unfortunately the last.

Went in and waited, and waited , and waited, in the past i would totally be ok with places being short staffed but i saw plenty of staff. And with today’s technology they could have QR codes to order to my table from my phone but no we Waited 25 min and left

I ordered the corn beef hash breakfast and my husband the Mexican steak Grande breakfast. Hash and gravy were from a can and the country potatoes were flavorless. Steak wasn't seasoned properly either, way too salty. The seats weren't cleaned properly, I couldn't lean back too far because of all of the food stuck in the cracks of the backrest. The silverware wasn't cleaned properly either. The waitress was nice and friendly. Enviroment is relaxing. Still wouldn't go back. I paid $50 for a canned breakfast. Never again.

This is a a nice place. Reminds me of the diner in Pulp Fiction. The food is pretty good. The sausage links were probably the favorite thing I ate. They were pretty busy so I understand not seeing the waitress often. The pancakes were pretty good, fluffy. The omelette was alright.

Hidden gem in Chula Vista! The food is AMAZING and the owners are wonderful! The prices are affordable, great proportions, and the food is so delicious! I highly recommend. This restaurant is way better than any "Dennys or IHOP".

This place is a hidden gem! Fantastic food, great service, relaxing. While the place just a block over probably advertises better with lines out the door, this place has way higher quality food! Well done.

Family owned, I think many of employees are related and share the same high level of service , went for breakfast and it's just simple and old fashion but in a good way , definitely recommend.

Didn’t get a chance to actually try anything. Got seated, then waited for 20 minutes with no further acknowledgement. No greeting, menu, water, cup of coffee, nothing. I love diners and small businesses and wanted to support. I’ll check them out another time and update my review.

They're under new management and a new name. The old name was sunset by the park and outside sign still has the old name. Fresh, delicious breakfast. I had the gyro plate and it was great! My uncle had the pastrami plate and he loved it.

Best diner in the Chula Vista area. Surprisingly large breakfast and lunch menu, and they’ve nailed everything I’ve tried so far. Unusually high quality ingredients. First diner I’ve ever been to that serves actual fresh-cut fruit.
