This place blows me away every time! Best restaurant in the world to me! We are from London and visit San Diego often. We absolutely love eating here in their cute little garden. My first choice off the menu would be the raw quesadilla - incredible flavours! The desserts are to die for! This time I purchased both of their cookery books to make raw food while recovering from surgery in Mexico. WOW I couldn’t believe I could make raw food taste like that. The owner is so kind to share so many of his best recipes! I can’t wait to be back in San Diego to come back to piece pies. I just wish we had something like this closer to us! You guys are the best! An inspiration to us all to eat healthy and with love x

This is my moms favorite place to come. She always brings me here when I’m visiting and we love it! We both have a lot of food sensitivities/allergies and peace pies is always so willing to work with us to customize the menu items to fix our needs. Her favorite is the mango curry wrap while I love the tuna wrap. But honestly you can’t go wrong here! I also love the vibes of their patio. So many beautiful plants and passion fruits growing. Definitely give this place a try! PS. Their desserts are also BOMB!

My favorite place to get healthy food!!! The ambiance is relaxing and the plants surrounding the eating area are gorgeous, the kale chips are heaven sent, desserts are soo good especially the cheesecakes, the entrees are surprisingly filling and have so much flavor, which you wouldn’t expect from raw food. My fav is the Mediterranean wrap and the mini tuna wraps. And even after eating so much I always feel so healthy and energized and never bloated after. Very much worth the price and the staff is very friendly, also love that they have rotating specials and cookbooks, i use their tuna recipe all the time :)

WOW. The entire restaurant is raw, vegan, and gluten free. The most conscious restaurant I’ve ever been to, and the best vegan food we found in San Diego (and we’re from Portland so we’re used to great vegan food everywhere!). Most amazing wraps and desserts. GO!!

JP and team— thank you. The care, attention to detail and experience makes this team true, raw food artisans. No matter what your food lifestyle choices, I recommend Peace Pies to 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺𝘰𝘯𝘦. Can't get better than raw living foods! Just take a look at the pictures... the colours, vibrancy of the dishes, hearty portions, beautiful presentation and wonderful plant pairings... it's my absolute favourite place in San Diego. I'm looking forward to their second location re-opening in Encintas so I can visit more often. Some things worth mentioning: They have a special that changes sometimes every two days, maybe every week or even a couple weeks. Not on the regular menu, sometimes the special is posted to their Instagram and usually costs $17. Favourite specials: crab cakes, thai kelp noodles & chkn tenders. Favourite regular menu items: maca cup, mushroom stroganoff & luna tuna wrap. Most filling: burger, pizza & mushroom stroganoff. For dining-in: Outdoor and inside seating available, but limited. Humble and cozy surroundings, the outdoor patio seating is really lush with plants and fun hidden trinkets. Half service, half self-service. You order at the counter. They bring it out to you, but you grab napkins/utensils inside and also clean your plate and place it in a tub. If you manage to get a parking place, I hope you enjoy these handcrafted, life-giving delights 🍰🌱

BEST vegan/raw vegan establishment I have ever been to. The chef/owner checked on the patrons while we ate in the dining area. They sincerely care about the food they serve which is evident by the quality of everything we tried. We visited 3 times while staying in San Diego for two days. I also purchased their raw cook book which they have for sale in store. A must stop for any vegan.

Very cute little venue with delicious food. We showed up and there was no wait. Service was very friendly and answered any questions we may have had about ingredients and dietary restrictions. We had the Mediterranean Sampler, Bruschetta, Mango Curry Wrap, Mushroom Stroganoff, and the Nori Nirvana between three of us and we were so pleased with every dish that came out!

Fresh, raw food handled with love and creative inspiration ❤️. So good. We had Lasagna and Avacado toast. Both were amazing. But the berry cake we brought home with the watermelon juice 😋 so so so good. The flavors are matched but a genius here. Don't be fooled by the entrance. This place is divine.

My first raw food experience, and I'll absolutely be back! The joy of eating without restrictions was overwhelming in a good way. I ordered the lasagna and my friends ordered the "fish" taco special and "milk" shakes that were so creamy and delicious. We all loved everything and the chef even spoke to us about how each of our dishes were made. They also sell Jem almond butter. The Salted Caramel is a must try! The dining space is small and that was a bit of an issue, but it was cozy like eating at a friend's house which I enjoyed. I can't wait to try something new when I return.

Absolutely amazing place, if you want raw there’s no better place in San Diego. Their tuna wrap is amazing, crab cakes fantastic and their dessert pies are phenomenal I’d also recommend the fig roll !

My husband, myself, and our 3 pups took a 2-month cross-country road trip in our car starting in Boston. Looking for vegan food when we arrived in San Diego we stumbled upon Peace Pies. We enjoyed it so much we are there about 4x in 2-3 days. Some of our favorites: San Diego Ceaser Salad- absolutely perfect salad and the leek chips were delicious. Burger- I was surprised at how good this was! Quesadilla-stuffed to the max! Hummus with Falafel - the a falafel was the best I've had Bruschetta- delicious raw bread Nachos- loaded! Tacos which were a special- I wish these were on the menu and in the cookbook! Caramel cheesecake and a Twix bar- next time im buying the whole cake! And I was told those Twix are only made sometimes! So happy I arrived at the right time. Cookbook and we tried a variety of to-go snacks like kale chips, hummus, leek crackers, and coconut water. 10 out of 10. I honestly can't wait to go back to California to visit my granddaughter and go to peace pies. I'll see y'all in November!!

Absolutely delicious...raw is very hard to do and they have done a darn good job. We had the Mediterranean sampler, again raw falafel is hard and there's was delicious. Never had vegan taziki but there's was on point. The Celestial Ceaser wrap was delicious... savory and sweet works real well. Mushroom stroganoff was exceptional as well. Again, a lot of dishes that I would never think of through a raw lens but it was delicious...will visit again!

The Mushroom Quesadilla was delicious. I wasn’t a big fan of the red bell pepper chips but the rest of the Nacho dish was delicious also.

I am currently enjoying a vegan keto diet and raw food seems to be a good option since there's a lot of nuts and other fatty ingredients that are used to make this kind of food. I generally don't really tend to eat raw vegan but since I'm on this diet I thought I'd give this place a shot. What a good choice because the ambience was fantastic and the service was great. Moreover the food itself was really tasty and filling. I had the kale chips and they had so many different flavors I wasn't sure which one to go with I had the Smoky cheddar which was fantastic and then I had a kale salad and some avocado bread which was on a seed bread they make in house. I would definitely come back and eat this even if I was not doing vegan keto because it was delicious. Keep up the good work

I absolutely love the vibe here and make it a point to stop here every time I’m in San Diego. I don’t always eat raw but always Plant Based and this place is just fantastic!!!! It’s an explosion of flavor for your taste buds. The menu has been consistent and love everything I’ve ever ordered along with the treats!!! I always feel fantastic after leaving this place. The intention of the food, the energy in this place and the nourishment for your body is like no other!!! Besides the beach, this place is a reason I’d love to move to SD!!!

I had the Luna Tuna wrap and asked them to add avocado. It was a big and delicious wrap! It tasted like tuna! I also had the cosmic coconut cream pie and it was also delicious! It wasn’t heavy like regular coconut cream pie.

I was recently diagnosed with an autoimmune blood disorder. I came to Southern California to detox at a clinic. I soon discovered Peace Pies . There is no rival for this place in the entire state of California. Raw vegan made delicious! I picked up the cookbook and read it cover-to-cover. This book made me believe that I can do it I can make my own raw vegan food. And that is just what I've been doing for the last month. I feel amazing I can't wait to see what's going to happen in the next few months

Raw, organic, and vegan. Great tasting food. You might need a pinch of salt and pepper though. They have these amazing raw desserts. The collard wrap is pretty phenomenal as well Their salads are good size portions. Fresh juice and coconut water. When you go sit outside in the garden!

Omg this is such a cute place. The menu is SO big and all vegan, gluten free and RAW!! So cool! We got the nori roll and the buffalo wrap with the Twix some conscious cheesecake. All of it was so fresh and delicious. You can tell it was made with love! We are from Pennsylvania, but when we are in San Diego again, we will be back! Thank you 🙌🌱

I’ve found heaven on earth! If I could eat here everyday of my life, for every meal, I would! Before Peace Pies, I didn’t know I liked raw food so much and how amazing and flavorful it could be! I’m working on trying the whole menu and so far I’ve loved everything I’ve tried! Not to mention, the Kale chips are in another league of their own (yeah never thought I’d say that either)! The only unfortunate thing (for me) is that I moved to LA and there is no Peace Pies here. I think Peace Pies would kill it here! I’m not begging (but am begging), PLEASE open a Peace Pies in LA!🙏🏻 I am sure I will be visiting San Diego frequently as I still have lots of family and friends there so when I do I will have to continue my quest of trying everything on the menu!

Was very excited to eat here having read so many positive reviews, but sadly was disappointed with my meal. I ordered the nachos to go and it was unbelievably salty and rich - so much so, that I could barely stomach it, let alone eat my dessert (which was also far too rich). I felt really quite unwell after having lunch from here. The three stars are for the fact that my husband enjoyed his meal (he had a wrap) and that service was pleasant. I also fully support the philosophy behind this cafe. But bottom line - no meal should be that salty or heavy - especially not a raw vegan meal. Not against trying something else in the future, but will steer clear of the nachos or anything similar.

  • 5/5 E M. 1 year ago on Google
The portions here are pretty darn big! It was just two of us and we couldn't finish our three plates. We were just passing through, so we couldn't take the leftovers to go, unfortunately. So, I'd start with 1 entree to share and add on as needed because portions are large. Also, I find raw food to be VERY filling, and I didn't feel like eating the rest of the day after our meal. For anyone unfamiliar with what RAW + VEGAN entails, you will primarily be consuming plants and nuts/seeds. They are soaked, dehydrated, and prepared in ways to create sauces, "bread" and taco shells and such without the need for heat-cooking. Here, they take a truly exquisite and artful way of meal design and presentation. I've been vegan for 6+ years, so the plant-filled meal was not surprising to me, but I know the completely cold temperature of the food was off-putting for my partner. They didn't really feel satisfied after eating. Most people are used to warm, cooked food so I would recommend going here on a warm summer day for a fresh meal! Pricing is around $15-20 per entree. They do offer a 4% cash discount. If dining in, they do bring your food out to you but it's up to you to get your own cutlery and napkins and put your dishes away. Beverages are few here. You won't find any unhealthy soda machines. Instead, there's bottled juices or smoothies and complimentary water. In the photos are the Noble nachos, Voltaire street tacos (which were actually too similar to the nachos), and (the special of the day) a pulled pork sammie. The blueberry pop-tart I got to go was amazing! As a v + gf eater, I haven't had a decent pop-tart in forever! While raw, it was still very delicious! The filling was A+!

  • 1/5 Melissa J. 2 years ago on Google
CAUTION: ALL THE FOOD IS RAW!!! As it does not specify this on their website, I was shocked to get cold flaps of zucchini with tomatoes on it, when expecting to get a nice and warm lasagna. Also the portion was super small (definitely not worth 14$) and all I can taste is thyme (they put waay too much on there). The cashier looked like she was on drugs and did not respond well. First and last time here.

This is my third time getting food here. Pictured is the Luna tuna wrap (I took a bite before getting a pic sorry haha). The atmosphere is cozy and earthy, with an outdoor seating area filled with plant life. The staff are kind and the food is soo bomb— everything is vegan! If you have a nut/seed allergy I would stay away from here, as suggested on a sign inside. Everything seems to be made with those/cross contamination could occur. Overall this place is one of my favorites in the Point Loma/OB area.

One of my very favorite places to eat! I was shocked at how full I got. The luna tuna wrap is huge and soo good. The quesadillas are amazing and all of the desserts are always great. Super vibrant healthy delicious food! :)

This is uniquely styled and flavored raw food. It is not an attempt to "imitate" animal-based foods, but a deliciously different way to prepare foods we love to eat. Prepare for an experience in the dish you order. We had it delivered, so I can't speak for the actual location, but we truly enjoyed the food. Peace.

I’ve been coming here for years and the food is always phenomenal. However at least 1/2 the customers come inside without masks. I was unable to maneuver around them as they were openly talking to staff who were masked. Having just overcome COVID-19 it’s a shame they don’t care that they put some of their customers at risk.

Totally loved peace pies! This humble little cafe really makes the very best raw vegan food in SD! Love their nachos (special of the day), Mediterranean wrap, and karmic kale salad. I can't wait to go back for more!

Amazingly great food in this eclectic little cafe. All raw vegan food here, did I say exceptionally delicious! Fast and friendly service, great atmosphere indoors and the patio is nice. Had the Mushroom Magic Quesadilla which is a crowd favorite and the Mediterranean Wrap. Super fresh ingredients perfectly combine together to make a taste experience that can only be found here.

Food was good but cross contamination is clearly an issue because my boyfriend (tree nut allergy) got very sick from something that wasn't supposed to have nuts in it. If that's a concern to anyone then I wouldn't risk it.

I started going here when I lived in Encinitas, rip that location :( I love this place. Pretty hooked on their majestic falafel wrap and Cesar salad sub kale. Makes me smile just thinking about my 2 favorite menu items. If I ever leave SD, this place will be a must stop on visits back.

  • 4/5 Maria B. 3 years ago on Google
Its all pretty good except their lasagna has way too much vinegar and their cashew cream pies "cheesecake" all taste like lemon regardless of what flavor you get. Also, the kelp noodles for the Mushroom Stroganoff need to be soaked in water with a little salt and lemon for 30 mins before serving so they're not so crunchy

One of a Kind Raw Vegan Experience Peace Pies is one of our favorite restaurants in San Diego - 100% vegan, 100% raw, 100% unbelievable! Their flavors and execution are flawless every time, everything is deliciously satisfying and fresh, and their desserts are as decadent as they are beautiful. Must tries: the Majestic Mediterranean Wrap with sprouted falafel in a coconut toritlla, Cheezy Kelp n' Kale (kelp noodles in a cashew cream sauce), and the Mysytical Mushroom Quesadilla (get it with the walnut meat upgrade!) And no trip to Peace Pies would be complete without one of their amazing, seasonally rotating, vegan desserts (like dark chocolate raspberry cheesecake).

Definitely one of my TOP 5 spots in San Diego. I see why they've been thriving since 1984. The food, the culture, the atmosphere. I've never had anything bad or been dissatisfied with their food. I usually get the Wednesday special with battered tofu and it's always fresh, consistently flavored and filling. Gotta support black owned businesses who especially are operating in EXCELLENCE.
