Such a staple breakfast joint in San Diego! The Mission is absolutely, positively one of the best breakfasts you can enjoy in SD! Even though not pictured...their French Toast is probably the best you will ever have - homemade bread with the perfect amount of cinnamon! Their burritos are top notch and same with their turkey sandwich (also not pictured πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ). Really cannot go wrong with any item off the menu you choose to order!

My husband and I went here on our honeymoon and it turned into one of our favorite breakfast places in San Diego. We recently took a couple family members when we visited and everything was just as amazing as before. Each time we were seated very quickly, service was on point, and the food was beyond fantastic. They also have a gluten free menu and vegan options. Sitting outside on the patio is ideal, but most people are waiting to sit outside so you have a better chance getting a table if you choose to sit inside.

Went here on a Tuesday morning while visiting San Diego. The food was delicious! We got the chilaquiles and the french toast. Both were awesome. A little on the pricy side but worth it . We also got the Mexican Mocha and they were delicious. I recommend this place.

A family friendly restaurant that focuses on breakfast. You would think with the name, the look and the menu items this place would have to be known for a Mexican dish but surprisingly enough, if you're here you have to try the French toast. Both my partner and I ordered both of the French Toasts they have available, one was the classic and the other which I had ordered was a variation with banana, cream and caramel. The taste was great but a little off if we are to call this French toast. It was more of a softer banana bread with whip cream and caramel. Now again while still good, was not my favorite and I'll be passing on this one for the future. My partners French Toast was DELICIOUS though, so if you have to pick between the two, stick with the traditional. You can't go wrong with the classic French Toast.

Grilled Rosemary bread slice - amazing. Soft with a thin crunch on the outside, and that buttery rosemary flavoring works so well. Rosemary potatoes - very good. Corn flame pancakes - the corn flake crunch makes it interesting. Cinnamon french toast - my least favorite among this order, but still above average.

This spot popped up on TripAdvisor so we decided to walk over from the omni. Nice family feel. Staff overall was very welcoming, our server not to much but our order was accurate and hot. Pricing was as expected for two. Portions were big as well

A great breakfast stop in San Diego. Had a great mix of traditional American breakfast options, fresh/healthy food, and Mexican influence (so basically San Diego ha).

The service wasn't very good, they just took a long time to acknowledge and attend to us. The food was great! We had the turkey sandwich and it was amazing! We were visiting from Colorado Springs for Christmas and I would still recommend this place.

This place was amazing. One of the best breakfasts I have every had. The spicy chorizo over the rosemary potatoes was incredible. My wife had the french toast and she loved it. Fresh squeezed orange juice and the fruit plate on the side was full of fresh fruit. Good service too. We got there early on a Sunday morning (before 10) and only had to wait 15-20 minutes for a table.

I had never been to this restaurant and let me tell you. Ill be back! Yesterday Sunday morning Maria my server was super friendly and was quick to bring us anything we asked for. Another girl with black hair i think she was the manager she was also very friendly and constantly checked if we needed anything and asked how our drinks and food was several times. She also recommended the french toast which was amazing. I will definitely be coming back. Those 2 people from the staff that i meet made my experience that much better. I loved it.

The wait is a bit long but the food is good. I suggest sitting outside if offered cause it gets pretty loud inside. You can tell their a little under staffed but the server are super nice. The food πŸ˜‹ is very filling good thing my brother was there to finish what couldn't didn't want leftover French toast sitting in the car. You're a 2min walk from petco park so great stop before or after a game ⚾️. My hubby recommended the steak Hass πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜‹.

The Granola Banana Pancakes were amazing, the chilaquiles where crispy and a layer of deliciousness. The only thing that was not up to par was the bitter coffee. The service was excellent!

Delicious food in a beautiful open-air indoor setting. I had been told to try the breakfast potatoes, and they were AMAZING! Portuguese linguica was also very good. Mimosas were heavy on the champagne, but not a bad selection.

Great breakfast or brunch spot, randomly spotted while waiting for our Izola pickup (their morning buns are to die for, by the way)... we had the breakfast burrito and the mushroom frittata, the rosemary potatoes are soo good and a surprisely good selection of beer, definitely a place to try out!

Our family loves The Mission. We've come here on several occasions when visiting San Diego. The gluten free options are so nice! Great selection of breakfasts from the sweet to the savory and they are wonderful with kids. I mean...look at these dishes...drool over them...and then plan your visit. You'll be glad you did. Just go early and avoid lines!

Went to breakfast with a friend who lives right nearby, this morning lace definitely seems like a staple in the neighborhood. We were able to sit down right away at 9:30am on a Sunday. The staff was friendly and attentive. The food was truly delicious, I got the banana caramel French toast which was so yummy, it’s dense and totally hot the spot.

Great French toast. My entire party liked their food except the turkey pesto sandwich. The bread was really thick which made the sandwich dry and hard to eat. The server was helpful, attentive and kind. The place looked grungy inside. It's been a few years since I've been and it just looked a little sad.

Avocado toast is amazing. Tomorrow is going to be our last day in San Diego and it's going to be hard to choose which breakfast to enjoy for our last day, but it's between the mission and another place. Coffee is above average.

Visited San Diego, CA for a few days and my favorite place in all of San Fran was Pat's Cafe! My best friend and I returned day after day for their breakfast burritos, coffee, and cozy atmosphere. On our last day we stopped in for our last burritos before returning to NYC and bought coffee mugs to remember our great experience.

Well managed, high quality products, and the plates look as good as they taste. One favorite is the French Toast, with fresh fruit, bacon and eggs. Yummy. Dine in or order to pick up, the wait staff treats us as they should, practically invisible. Good wait people, serve from the left, remove from the right, serve women first, and never, approach to ask< "How's everything, when your mouth is full." Their presence is not intrusive, more coffee, it will arrive, they are busy. We do not know how some can say, awe the burritos are good, "IF YOU, use a lot of hot sauce." Well if you use a lot of hot sauce, to cover the bad, you're eating at the wrong place. No need to smother anything here, but if you wish their Guacamole, Salsa's will enhance any item. I ask for Blackberries on the blueberry pancakes, thanks for both.

Here it was, my last day in San Diego. I had eaten a lot of great stuff. It was one amazing restaurant after another. And this was no different. The Mission I had identified as one of the best breakfast spots in the city, so here I went. And it did not disappoint. Located in probably what the locals call, "the young kid, " part of town, all the doors are open, and the sunshine shines right down on you as you're deciding what to eat. This place had one of those rare menus were every single dish sounded like an absolute banger. I had to resort to asking the server for help. And my suspicions were confirmed. I ordered the Steak & Eggs (Grilled CAB Steak + horseradish cream + rosemary potatoes + grilled rosemary bread + scrambled eggs). The steak was cut up in cubes. You know what that usually means, overcooked, tough steak. Not in this case! Juicy, tender chunks of charred deliciousness. Very impressed. On top of Mega crispy potatoes. With fluffy eggs. Crusty bread. This dish had everything, and I am very glad that I got it. You should get it, too. I also got to sample the Mission Rosemary (Crispy rosemary potatoes + scrambled eggs + tomato + scallions + rosemary bread) (Add two strips of chicken sausage). This was also really good. All the secondary components of the meal were here, the potatoes, the eggs, etc. Then they added the chicken sausage. Which was nice. They were plump and juicy and very flavorful, making up for the inherent blandness of chicken. Overall, this restaurant was a banger. If you're thinking about coming here, and you read this review, come here. There's a lot of breakfast competition in San Diego, and I carefully chose this place for a reason. So good.

Rosemary potatoes were delish! Big portions of food. Reasonably priced. There were so many things on the menu I wanted to try. Guess ill just have to keep coming back when i’m in town! ;) I had the DESAYUNO BURRITO which the only way to describe would be a breakfast burrito on steroids. So good!

Came here for brunch and they immediately seated us in the back patio area which they made for covid. The place was definitely busy and they did offer us an indoor spot if we could wait a few minutes but we didn't mind. The outdoor weather was great and they have ez - ups to block direct sunlight. We ordered a breakfast quesadilla and a zen breakfast. The eggs with the zen breakfast were extremely fluffy and and zuchinni was cooked perfectly. However, my favorite part of the dish was the tofu.

This is the most affordable restaurant in my area. The foods and other offerings here are affordable. The parking area is not a problem here also. They have a spacious parking area that can accommodate more customers. This is a very remarkable and amazing experience for me. Highly recommended to everyone.

I wish I could get my tip back that I had already paid through GrubHub. Just the few minutes I was there to pick up my order was the rudest experience I've had in a while. I get that they were probably busy and stressed but maybe don't take it out on your customers. And if the person bagging to-go orders is above customer service and doesn't want to be spoken to then don't put a sign in front of them that says "GrubHub orders pick up here."

Delicious food. Gracious and lovely staff. I showed up with my huge luggage right at the brink of closing time (after lunch) and the hostess was kind enough to seat me anyway. My server was warm and friendly. The outdoor seating area was pleasant. I ordered the tamales verde and was not disappointed. My plate was so pretty! Vibrantly colorful salad with a fresh sprig of cilantro, yummy black beans with just the right amount of cheese, My tamale was covered in a tasty salsa verde that went well with my little bites of the yellow rice. I had just come from the airport and was trying to figure out what to do with myself until a 4pm check in, I cannot express what a positive experience it was. Genuine smiles even as the last table was wiped near mine while I waited for my Uber were much appreciated. Just a great place to eat, great people who serve you. I am certainly going back to try the avocado toast and one of their coffee selections. The menu also has other vegetarian/vegan options as well.

The food was delicious. Service was not great. We were seated right behind the open entry door and sat for over 9 minutes before anyone came to greet, or get drink orders. Once we got our food, the waiter never checked back to see if we needed anything or refilled drinks. I had to flag them down twice. The place was not busy, our waiter seemed to not understand serving etiquette.

Nicest person helped out my friend and I during this quarantine period. We walked in after getting coffee next door just to check out the menu and ended up getting entree's with a side of pancakes. They only had 1 waitress and 1 cook but we weren't in any rush. Super nice, and tipped well. nice

The Mission's gets a lot of extra points for being open at 7:30 rather than 8 or 830 like many other places. It also is located on a quiet street served by some of the most picturesque street cars. The eggs Benedict were excellent, and the fruit crepes were also very good, if a bit dry. Service was fast and friendly.
