The pizza is just soft bread with cheese.. no tomato sauce? Bad attention, bad manager, ordered a Large, they brought a medium. Would not recommend.

Been a customer of Filippi's for 40+ years. Ordered a sausage sandwich and they gave me a meat ball sandwich. Figured they would make good on it so I took the sandwich back two days later. Chubby woman with an attitude named Inez told me that I had to complain that same day and bring it back the next day. She asked me what I was doing for two days. Would not make good on their mistake. Being elderly, things are getting difficult to understand. But a little bit of courtesy towards customers would be appreciated. Filippi's, you have been better than this and you can do better.

You can literally smell the pizza the moment you step out your car! It was heavenly and everything was delicious, super cute family friendly restaurant with excellent service. The kids meals were also excellent and such a great price with dessert.

My friend wanted to go to the one on Imperial Beach, this one was closer. She likes the other one better; the food tastes better... her words.

Ordered a “fit for a king” pizza to share with family. The pizza looked good but the crust was hard and tasted like oil and salt the cheese was not melted. There was little to no sauce on the crust…. Hands down this is the worst pizza I’ve ever had in my life…. Definitely not worth $35…. Update 7:10 pm i called to get a refund for the monstrosity of a pizza… and was told that that I need to bring the pizza back to them and that they don’t give refunds…. This treatment is beyond disgusting. The closing manager is rude and down right the worst person I’ve ever had to deal with… their pizza is in my garbage bin.

A Fit for a King Medium and Alfredo Fettuccine with chicken. Is what I ordered to go. 49.50 is the price... that will be the last time I order from Fillppis. I noticed your portions eating in are larger than the ones you order to go. It doesn't matter. Never will I set foot again in. Besides, Venice pizza house is way better.

Before they closed down for remodel this place was good. Now, it’s just sad. Their lasagna was not up to par like before. The cheese was burnt and difficult to cut through. Not very good. The woman that was at the register today answering phones was rude. Normally they are nice and friendly. Todays experience was just bad. We ordered to-go but even when we went into the restaurant to eat a couple months ago the same thing with the lasagna, not very good. What’s going on?

My boyfriend and I come here every time we are in San Diego. He got the mostaccholi and meat sauce. I got the combo with lasagna and meat ravioli with meat sauce and a meatball on the side. Very good! They also give you bread and butter. Sat outside and enjoyed the weather and people watched. Tina was our waitress and she was very attentive and sweet. Has a cute, tiny mercato inside when you first walk in with different imported foods. Can’t wait to come back!

Let me start by saying the food was reasonably priced. My partner and I went here with high hopes based on the previous reviews. However, the service was not good at all. The server had short timers disease because very little attention was paid. Once we finished eating what we were going to eat of the food, we waited for quite some time for our server to come to our table since it was obvious we weren't eating anymore. He never came, I had to call to him and even then he didn't come right away. At least a half a dozen times another young man came vigorously sweeping by or table while we were trying to eat. While I appreciate the cleanliness, it's not necessary that many times when no one else had been seated. We ordered the lasagna ravioli combo. The lasagna was okay, the ravioli was supposed to be meat but it didn't taste like any meat I've ever tasted. We also tried a meatball, that was good. I will not be returning to this particular location ever again. Even though it's the closest, I will try out the IB location and hope for better service. We arrived just before 8 pm and they closed at 9 pm. We were gone before 9 pm. If you go here, maybe try a different time of day.

Placed order over the phone. They didn’t give me the complete order. Never apologized for mistake. “Manager” Neva was grossly rude, confrontational and argumentative. Disgusting behavior from anyone in the service industry. She hung up the phone. They are thieves. They refused to give me my money back saying they could give me a “credit”. I don’t want a credit from somewhere where Im treated rudely for THEIR mistake. Never going back again. Disgusting service. Stay AWAY!!!

The WORST service I have ever had. The “meat” lasagna I had, had no meat at all. Pointed out to the staff and they wouldn’t admit it… The worst, was the attitude of the manager, she even kicked me out of the restaurant! Truly unbelievable… Just go somewhere else.

Just average. Ordered the chicken parm with a side of ravioli. Chicken was good, the sauce was hot, but the ravioli was cold. The menu clearly stated that the dish came with a salad. While waiting for my meal, I asked the waitress about bread and salad. She returned the garlic bread but informed me that my dish did not come with a salad. Strange?!?

Always a local favorite. Sandwiches are huge, fresh and tasty! Great for dining in or pickup to go. Love that they are always happy to customize your favorites. Plenty of parking too!

I came from New York and let me tell you, close enough to a good Calzone. The staff was super friendly, the hostess remembered me and got my order to perfection. The cooks are super attentive to the taste and portion of their food, you definitely are getting what you paid for. They definitely did a great job.

I’m from out of town and usually go to the location downtown but this time decided to try the Chula Vista location since I was closer to that one and I wish I would of just stayed to my normal location. The service was just okay nothing special took for ever to get our check and when I asked for our check I was rudely told to hold on because he was busy. That’s not the worst part my wife and I got subs. I decided on the chicken Parm. Bad fricking choice. The chicken was not cooked fresh and could definitely tell in the taste and texture of the chicken it was just old. It was my last day of my vacation and the last meal I had and the next morning I had the worst food poisoning I ever experienced in my life. Couldn’t hold any fluids or food down for 2 days and also had to call out of work due to me being so sick. Just stay clear from this location.

One of the best pizzas I've ever had. If you like thick pizza that have a lot of cheese but don't look greasy at all, this is your place. Also their seafood pasta was excellent. Their servers are super friendly and their free parking lot is huge!

I ordered three pizzas at the Chula Vista store on Sunday May 28 at around 11 AM for a get together. I told the girl on the phone that we can pick them up around one. When they were picked up around 130, the pizzas had been sitting out and we’re cold. They told my nephew who picked them up that they were made around 11 AM. By the time they got to my get together they tasted, crusty, and not like the usual pizzas. I called the store and spoke to a girl who put her manager, “Ms. Ramirez” on the phone. Ms. Ramirez was very aggressive from the beginning. I asked to speak to her manager, to which she replied that there was no one above her and told me there was nothing she can do even though I wasn’t asking for anything she began to raise her voice and said “I am done with you and hung up”. I have eaten here for decades and I will no longer be supporting this business. I invite the owner to reach out to me so that I can share my experience with him/her.

The lady at the register was on the phone and ignored us we came in. No greeting or anything. Then the waitress saw us and told us to sit wherever we want. So we sat ourselves. The waitress was nice. She took our orders. We had a combination of lasagna and spaghetti, margherita pizza, and philly cheesesteak. We also ordered fettuccine alfredo and pepperoni pizza for to go. The only thing I didn’t like much was the philly cheesesteak. The steak has a different taste and not much of grilled bell peppers and onions. I asked the waitress for pepperoncini on the side. Four stars for everything and one star left for improvement.

We were there celebrating my son's 22nd birthday. His favorite place to go for his birthday. Everything was excellent. Only thing; we were sitting next to server station, and the constant throwing of dishes was disruptive. Besides that, everything was awesome.

For pizza and nostalgia, 5 stars. My husband and I are thrilled to confirm that this Filippi's location still makes great, extra-cheesy pizza. Minestrone was simple and satisfying, and the Super Torpedo sandwich was much more generously sized than we'd anticipated. My only complaint, is that Buffalo wings should not be breaded or soggy. Sauce was ok, texture was all wrong. Which was a shame, because the chicken itself was moist and tender.

This is my favorite Filippi's location, by far; I've been coming since I was a child. This location has the best antipasto salad, hands down, and their pizza is always the cheesiest, tastiest pizza, period. Their pastas and other dishes are really good too but you can't come to Flippi's and not order pizza! There's parking in the back and on the street and it can become busy but I've never had to wait more than 15 minutes. There's a larger side room that can accommodate larger partys as well.

This was the first time ever giving them less than 5 stars. The shrimp fillip and that was great. We tried an all white pizza and the flavor was missing. Neither my wife or I liked it. Bad thing we bought an large so we can have another meal. We are still going to eat it complaining, but at the price I am not throwing it out.

Great service (Mary), however, kitchen has dictated this review. When an entree comes out 5-10 minutes after ordering (lasagna), just had a feeling this may be a problem. It was warm at best and final responsibility falls on server. Shame on kitchen for making the server look bad! Previous review 3 years ago was 4 of 5 stars. No excuses for digressing, check your equipment or use microwave!

Dined-in at Filippi's on a Sunday evening, was expecting a long wait time but was surprised with a lack of one. Pizza was great as always. Same goes for the lasagna, spaghetti and salads that we ordered. Cleanliness of the restaurant was also excellent. One little drawback was that the A/C was at full blast and was cold. But a neighboring table raised the concerned and issue was addressed. Great experience at Filippi's and will definitely return.

Mary was our waitress . She was cute, a real cute 😍 pie 🥧. Fast efficient, knew the menu and the selection of beers 🍻 . I had the calzone, Canadian bacon 🥓, sausage. Very good. She picked a beer for me too, Modelo l. Reminds me of Italian food back in New York.

Another family favorite place to dine. We've been enjoying their hearty food for over 30 yrs! Can't go wrong with the pizzas and the thick cheesy topping! Lots to choose from on their extensive menu. All worth trying at least once!

I dont know if I was starving when I came in, but I definitely wasn't when I came out. Pizza amazing top 3 in my book. Meatballs amazing top 3 again and what can I say about the cannolis, unreal. I would make it a must stop if you are in the area. Also the staff was great, they even sold me pizza dough and sauce to try and recreate the pizza for someone who couldn't tag along on the trip. Sublime in my opinion

This review is about the food, not the wait staff! They were attentive and checked on us a few minutes after we got our food, and our drinks were kept filled $69 for a 2 topping pizza, 4 sodas and pasta bowl for 1. Pizza dough was a hard chew, the pasta was bland, and the Italian sausage was also bland. Not coming back.
