I get there’s an inflation, but $49 for half order is straight up ripping people off. I (mistakenly) relied on an old menu and order half an order of carne asada to go, thinking it was $26 dlls. We got plenty of tortillas about 20 and meat for about 6 tacos (mini size tortillas). It’s taking advantage of customers. No taco tastes good after paying that much. Salsa was bland. We got about 1/4 cup of guacamole. It was a ripoff.

Wow there is a lot to say about Tacos El poblano the first thing is that you need to know that when you get in there they trust you. What I mean by that is you walk into the counter by the tacos and order your tacos, torta s,quesadilla, mulitas, and you have your choice of three meats carne asada, birria or adobada. Watch you get to do is choose either a burrito, tacos, quesadilla, any other variations of it with the meat of your choice. Once you ordered you eat it and once you eat it you can also before I forget get your Waters or sodas from the register once it's done and you finish eating you come into the cashier and let them know that you are done and how many of each or whatever you ate you ate. Once you tell them they'll go ahead and charge you for it you pay and you're done very simple but it's something that we are not used to here. The flavor on their meats is always amazing, their beef is a great or 100% delicious, there's salsas if you're not used to ask but yet keep in mind that the majority of the sauces there are spicy. So with that said just make sure that you choose believe it or not the darkest one which is the least spicy, you can get your lemons, you can get your aguas frescas. And have the opportunity to have a good old time with everybody there. The cooks behind the bar are amazing always with a smile and always very helpful to teach you or to help you choose the best stories. With that set we keep on going every weekend and at least twice a week to enjoy their tacos.

I’ve driven past this place often so I decided to finally try it. As soon as I entered I loved the smell as it smelled just like a Tijuana taqueria. I would consider the price a bit too much as it’s around $3.50 for a taco but then again, that’s about the average cost of a taco around here so I guess it’s fair. The tacos themselves are average. In regards to the taste: I had two adobada tacos and although the meat looked well marinated/seasoned, there was a lack of flavor. The most overpowering taste was the onion. TLDR: has potential but price a bit high and flavor could be better

THE BEST MEXICAN FOOD! Go here and be happy. The consume ... oh my goodness. So much flavor in one delicious cup of soup! The tacos are so tasty, you’ll need two or three. The salsas are all delicious and have a good variety of flavors and heat levels. The staff is so friendly & will welcome you with a smile. TIP —> Order the tacos and consume and you will be happy. Even if you don’t like soup! TIP —> even if you aren’t Hispanic, speak Spanish and do your best to order, because they will appreciate the effort and help you out. TIP —> I could just stand there watching Florencio make tacos all day. Check it out! He has quite a talent.

Hadn't been here in a while... sadly things have changed. Still reminds me of those college road trips down south of the border to TJ for a tacos 🤣, but not the same quality. Tortillas no longer handmade softness... but definitely delicious. Good Carne asada, generous serving, Guacamole was meh maybe had a bad avocado day. I would still stop by if I'm in the Chula Vista area but not for a dedicated drive. Mulita was food, hubby had al pastor, he liked. Clean tables and restroom, friendly & quick service. Thanks!

Ripoff! Poor quality of everything. The worst was, quite possibly the most disrespectful place of business in Chula Vista. I have been here since the 2000's, once had great service and food. The last visit had me wondering that's there no possible way to return. First of all, the cooks are 40 year old children playing with each other. They don't care about you; it's become a culture because once I mentioned it to the cashier about the food and prices, she replied, "Yeah, and they will continue to go up." The place is a joke. Food is mediocre. With so many other places to go to, why bother with a place that is run worse than a daycare. Seriously 40 year old children. Look carefully at how filthy the staff is, if you're going to charge high prices, at the very least behave like adults.

Was in the area and decided to stop by and try this place out for the first time, place is honestly very clean and has a somewhat tacos el gordo theme. I was excited!! I ordered 5 tacos total, 2 birria, 2 adobada, 1 carne asada. I opted for cilantro onion and guac and of course i added red salsa from the salsa bar, i cant really talk much about the staff since i didnt talk to them much but the food came out quick, now to why i gave it 2 stars, THE FOOD DOES NOT TASTE GOOD, the adobada was the only one with flavor, the guac 100% comes from a can since it is tasteless, for $3.25 a taco i expected some flavor, never again will i come back here, i felt like i had to make myself finish compared to actually wanting to…..

I have been here a few times and it never disappoints. The food is good and service is quick. My only knock on them is the price, they’re one of the most expensive taco shops in Chula Vista. We got 10 tacos, 2 drinks and it came out to $32. If you’re in the area and looking for a quick bite then check them out.

Came to this place in the Rancho del Rey area after an a day at the nearby bowling alley. My friend and I wanted to grab a quick bite and we found this place. For the location it is in, the food is very reasonably priced, and the wait time is not too long (although we did not order during a lunch rush). The taste was great and the location was kept clean. I would not have typically gone to eat here unless I specifically looked for a nearby Mexican food restaurant, but I am glad I did.

Seriously good. If you know, then you know, this is much better than the similar (crowded) early favorites down here in Chula Vista. While these sorts of street taco shops has become popular, this was around before the popular trend. As usual, don't be put off by the basic nature of this place, just go ahead on in, order up and pay once you've got your food. I've tried 40 or more shops in CV and this is a hidden gem. Snooze and lose, or give it a try, but this is one of the best this side of the border.

Idk what happened here but the food used to be good and have been here lately and everything is blant, the salsa is watery nothing has flavor. Really bad tacos honestly.. I hope I can come back next time and it has changed to better...then I'll change my reviews. Stopped on a Thursday

Good service ,Over priced, two tortillas per taco which is rare these days. Tacos the birria were terrible, no flavor very low quality meat full of fat and not soft. Carne asada same, The meat was very low quality, undercooked had a hard time chewing. Please save your money and go down the street to de cabeza unico or tacos el gordo is a better choice. These places are still overpriced but the quality of food is better. If I could give it zero stars I would.

Went out of my way to try Tacos El Polano as it was highly recommended. Very disappointed by the prices, services and food portions. Tacos are priced at 3.60, Burritos at 12-13. The taste is not up to par with some of the other taco shops around Chula Vista. Second I was served tacos with significantly less meat and toppings than the person who ordered ahead of me. This is easy to notice as they serve your order right in front of you and I saw how much the previous person got and how little I got. The size of the burrito is about a half the size of burritos you can get anywhere else in SD. Second the service is disappointing, the person taking the order got my order wrong right in front of me and refused to acknowledge that I had ordered something else. Second the lack of service and smaller portion sizes are noticeably due to discrimination as I am not of Spanish speaking descent. During the whole interaction I was very cordial and had no intention of raising a scene. I love and would always prefer to support local businesses but if you want tacos I highly recommend going somewhere else. There's plenty of better selections around CV.

This place is ok. Atmosphere is good and feels nice just usually have chairs cluttered together and some tables that don’t get properly cleaned that throw me off. As well as the service is usually good. The food though is simply just ok. The quality and quantity that is provided for the customer once served is just mediocre compared to other taco joints.
