Look I'm not saying this place is bad, but unclean tables and loud music isn't my vibe. For the younger crowd you should stop on by. They had some tacos outside that were pretty good and they're beer selection was awesome but the overcrowding and not being able to hear myself talk kinda ruined it.

Machete is a nice bar, they have great beer, too many options to choose from. I love it! It's a little small but the service is friendly, great option to spend a great evening.

Machete Beer House is a SOCAL Staple. This Beer House makes you feel at home with no needed bells and whistles. This locally owned, woman owned, and Minority owned and curated beer house is exactly why we should continue to support our local small businesses. They feature local and Mexican Breweries and have an expansive list of bottled beer, seltzers, and other things for the non-beer drinker. Place is fun and casual with good music and a HUGE screen to watch games, whether its football, baseball, soccer, or olympics! There is always a good time to be had at Machete and if you need a bite you can head next door for that come back to where the ambience is truly unique!

Chill spot to hang out with friends. They have a lot of IPA beers if your a fan of those and the bartenders are pretty nice. I believe I tried around 5 different beers because I personally don’t like IPAs at all nor do I like super light beer that tastes watered down. I had a stout and it wasn’t too bad but it wasn’t as creamy as I hoped it would be. Hence the 4/5 stars because I wish they had more of a stout selection. Otherwise chill atmosphere, the women’s restroom is cute and there’s seating outside, inside, and at the bar.

One of the best if not the best local hang out's I've been to in awhile! This place has a great section of craft beers on tap, and awesome atmosphere to enjoy a good time with friends. Place is a bit small, but I enjoy the great music and craft beers which make up for the small location. Another plus is that you can walk next door to Salud (Mexican Restaurant) which in my opinion serves some of the best food in National City and bring it back into Machete's Beer House to enjoy. The staff were very friendly and attentive to all customers and even help you pick a good beer you enjoy drinking. I will definitely be coming back here again very soon from LA.

Cool little place to grab a craft beer and and watch sports, or simply hang out collectively. Lacks any sort of parking. Was not entirely a fan of not allowing patrons not ordering drinks to sit inside. Variety of drinks were abundant.

No food menu, no soda's, music was too loud when there wasn't even any customers there and the bartender was a little on the rude side. It could be a great place but it's simply not a place for me.

Fantastic tap room in National City. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable, and whoever did the beer list artwork is very talented. I don't get down to National City very often, but this is a must-visit spot on the list now. Great beer list and great folks.

Food outside is excellent, gentleman outside selling aguachiles & mariscos/pozole is delicious then u can grab a beer inside

National cousin day celebrated at Machete! Had a party of 15 and the owners accommodated us and made us feel welcome. Beer on tap and you can bring your choice of food into their establishment!! It is a laid back feel w TVs even outside to enjoy the Padres!!!! We had a blast! Jet is amazing! He took care of us all night👌🏼 CHEERS MACHETE!!🍻 GRACIAS!!

Great beer selection. They always have lots of sours on tap. My husband always asks for the best sour and works down their list. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff as well. The place has that local neighborhood bar feel- like if you moved out to SD, you would come here and expect to run into a familiar face. If the virus disappeared tomorrow, Machete would be the first place I’d go to to celebrate.

Small venue, simple with a variety of local brewed beers. Their hand written menus hard to read so I recommend downloading the menu. A few small tvs and a big projector screen.
