Ordered the Mac n cheese with sausage, the truffle fries, and the blackened mahi tacos. Everything was presented great, beautiful dishes, but the truffle fries were the star. They were so flavorful and perfectly cooked, and paired with the aoli they were over the top. A note on ordering, you can order right from your table entirely electronically, pay and all, so you don't have to talk to anyone or wait for a waiter to put in your order. Service was great nonetheless.

Food was fantastic and the beer was decent. It seemed to be a big local spot which was nice. While we are tourists in many cities, it’s nice to not be surrounded by other tourists.

This place is amazing! Great beer selection, food is delicious, atmosphere is relaxed. If I lived in SD, I would be here all the time! No pictures before - pics after are proof of how delicious it was!

Great beer. Great food. Great service. We had an early dinner. Tried the fish & chips, Mac & cheese, and BBQ bowl along with 3 different beers. Enjoyed everything!

Extremely slow service. If I knew how snail paced the service was going to be, we would have not come irrespective of how good the beers are. Long line just to order. We stood in line for 30 mins to order food, and can’t believe there is just one counter that takes the order. It’s not that the place is busy. Less than 50 patrons in the restaurant. Another 30 mins for the food to arrive. The food was absolutely mediocre. The fish tacos was dry, and overdone. Kids couldn’t eat the Mac and cheese. Please don’t come here for the food, you will be disappointed, not worth the wait.

Seared ahi salad was delicious! One of the better ahi salads I've had. Very filling. I also tried the beer pretzels... the cheese was delicious. Relaxing atmosphere. Great place to meet friends.

I know they are known for their Mac n chz but if you like zucchini, you have to order it. Crisp, flavorful, Delicious. Of course the beer was on point too ;) I was killing some time waiting on someone to get to town so I was dining alone and the service was perfect. They would check on me, but not be overbearing. They even brought a different beer sample for me to try. Great food, amazing service! 👍

I really enjoyed my visit here! The brewery/restaurant wasn't very crowded, they kept the main door open to improve ventilation, and I think all of the employees were wearing masks. The food is a little pricey, but very tasty and served quickly. There is a great selection of beer and some of them are phenomenal! The restaurant uses an inovative ordering system that works really well and cuts down on physical contact.

Great beer and service, though it you do have to go to the bar to order (or via QR code). Only brewery I have ever been to that had pork chops on the menu, and they were delicious. Would be a regular if I lived in the San Diego area.

Brussel sprouts and boneless wings were super good! They have 5 and 6 beer flights. Place was a bit more lit up inside than I would expect for a place like this.

The food truck burger could be one of the best burgers I’ve had. Max and cheese pretty darn good and the beers hit the spot.

Delicious food, fast service, great atmosphere! We sat outside and enjoyed the nice weather. Get the truffle fries they do not disappoint!!!

Stopped in with family this afternoon. 4 adults 3 kids. Although the computers were down and it was getting busy, all were calm and friendly. After being in SD 4 days already eating out this was by far the BEST service, most delicious food, quick, and efficient. A great experience all around. The server even thanked me by name as we headed out. Well done! So appreciated.

Everything was perfect! The employees were super friendly and the food was fantastic. We had a group of 14 including 8 kids and had no problems finding great food for everyone. I had the salmon and Brussel sprouts. It was cooked perfectly and the sweet sauce they drizzled on the salmon and sprouts was the perfect medium sweetness. We arrived around 7:30pm on a Wednesday and we were surprised to find parking within 100' of the restaurant. It was a not busy at this location when we arrived. A botched reservation at a different brewery and that area being super busy caused us to search for a brewery/restaurant last minute and I'm very happy we found Karl Strauss Brewing Co.

So, so good. Everything - including the beer - is awesome. I love how pet friendly the front deck is, and the beer pretzels are out of this world.

I like the location and the food. Fries are excellent and not greasy. The beer bratwursts are delicious. The Pilsner I tried was excellent. The negatives were lack of service. They have taken the self-service to a different level.

Not talking about drinks for this review, everything else is game. The food is really good, the fish and chips had just the right amount of batter and fish. The pork chops were a surprise to be had. The staff being barebones at the time were a great, not missing a beat and being really friendly. Overall, a nice place to eat for being a few blocks away from the pier.

Great food and drinks! However, the music outside is a little to loud and not the best. San Diego is a beach and sun destination, maybe the music could be a little more inviting and people would stay a little longer to enjoy another beer.

If you answered yes to any of these questions then Karl Strauss Brewing Company IS THE PLACE FOR YOUR MOUTH. Their dogs are coated in dressings, toppings, and a touch of love to make sure nothing falls out as this bad boy slides down your gullet.

This location is a hidden gem! It's a great brewery as well as the surrounding areas are perfect for a engagement session! My clients loved this place so they decided this was their place they wanted their engagement session done at! Look at these photo!!

Older taphouse/pub, definitely older feeling to the establishment. Good selection of beers. Service was good. Tasted nearly every beer there, I ended up liking the Red Trolley Ale. I did not have food here and regret it now - it looked very good ... Would stop by here again when I'm in the area.

Came here solo while visiting from out of town looking for a low key dinner; ate towards the end of the night. COVID service is either order at the bar for to-go or grab your own table and order via QR code. This felt pretty impersonal to me, and that was emphasized during the meal. I only saw a server when dropping off my beer or burger. No one to ask questions nor any check ins from staff through my meal. Grass-fed burger was average. Upgraded to the truffle fries which were good, no truffle aioli with the side however, Beer menu was largely IPAs, a few other choices for those that prefer other styles. Overall not particularly impressed.

Great outdoor and indoor environment. Staff engaged and interactive...caring and attentive. Beer choices are fun and local! If you want a fun outdoor experience...stop by!

Great experience ordering through Door dash here on Superbowl Sunday. We ordered 1.5lbs of wings, Beer Pretzels and a grass fed burger. Everything came perfectly portioned and packaged, and was ready within 30 minutes for pick-up. The wings were great, and actually quite a value for how many you get. The chicken was juicy and succulent, and well flavored with buffalo sauce. It was so much my wife and I couldn't finished them all with everything things else we ordered. The pretzels were also spot hitting, and a good balance of soft on the inside with just the amount of salty stiffness on the outside(and perfectly paired with the spicy mustard dipping sauce). Finally the burger came with a soft and buttery bun, with plenty of avocado, bacon and cheese as well. The meat was overflowing with juicy goodness, and the whole thing together was incredibly filling. All in all a great takeout experience, would definitely order here again!
