Me and my boyfriend are huge bbq lovers so we ended up getting the tailgater bbq just so we can have a little of everything. We thought the Pork ribs were great.. but everything else just seemed too dry with leftover vibes. The pulled pork was very dry, as well as the “moist” brisket that we requested. The fries, beans, Mac and cheese were good. I personally was not to crazy about the cornbread the cheese and jalapeños threw me off a little. I just feel like when you eat anything bbq it should be hot and fresh and it just wasn’t it.

Update 03/19/2022 We went there the second time for a takeout online order, I loved the little stickers they put on each box so we know what’s inside of each box! The food was as good as the first time and they came out fast but the cornbread was put in a pepper bag and some of them were smashed 🥲 We were going out for a picnic so I asked for more napkins but the staff told me that they already put some napkins in our bag so I didn’t get any extra napkins but it turned out that there were only 2 napkins in our bag🥲 We loved this place!!! The parking was a little confusing at first but the staff was really chill and told us that we can park at the 15 minutes pick up area and the back of the restaurant too, even though there were Tow zone signs on the wall😂 We spend about 15-20$ per person at this place and we were blown away by their customer service!! We ordered by our phones, there was a QR code on each table, it is really easy to use and convenient, the staff was really chill and friendly, they kept checking on us and made sure that we were satisfied with our visit! We got our drinks immediately after we sent our order! The food came fast and our favorite was the rib tips! It was so tender, flavorful and moist, the wedding beans were another highlight, they even put a little pork in the beans!! We added an extra dollar for the onion rings, it’s totally worth the price!! Really crispy and I would say it was a pretty good size! The pulled pork sandwich was a little bit dry for us but we solved that after we put their amazing sauce and wedding beans into our sandwich!! They offered us lemon scent hand wipes which I thought was really thoughtful!! The whole restaurant was really relaxing and we loved all the music they played there! Great service, great food, we are definitely going back again!

Came her on Christmas Eve and it was limited hours from 12-4pm for take out only. We got the Tailgater bbq feast because it came with a bit of everything. Tailgater bbq feast ($85): Tri-tips - yummy Rib tips - tender Pulled pork - a bit dry Brisket - yummy 1/2 chicken - not a fan of bbq chicken 1/2 rack ribs - tender Mac and cheese - average Beans - so yummy Slaw - average Potato salad - average Jalapeño cornbread (5) - addicted We ordered additional items: Beer battered onion rings ($7) - the best Wings (10 piece) $16 - not good Everything was delicious. My favorite bbq joint! Favorite meats would be the ribs. It fell off the bones. The rib tips was nice and fatty. Pulled pork was dry but the brisket won us over. I’m not a fan of bbq chicken. The wedding beans were yummy because it had juicy meat bits in it. I was addicted to the jalapeño cornbread and the onion rings were huge! It stayed crispy hours later.

The BBQ & honey habanero wings were bomb but definitely not spicy. Onion rings were thick and crunchy they tasted really good. I'm not sure if the ranch is housemate but it is great. The peach cobbler was as mazing and not too sweet.

Tried the brisket, tri-tip, and andouille hot link. We had Mac n cheese, cheese jalapeno cornbread, wedding beans, onion rings and potato salad.. a little of everything. The meat was well seasoned with good flavor. The sides were decent portions. Wish the cornbread was buttered. Will be back to try the peach cobbler. Solid bbq for sure.

You order from the app, but the service was there to assist and get you anything you needed. Our Service person (She - i apologize, I forgot her name) was very helpful and very nice. We ordered pork ribs (good), pull pork (good), brisket (okay-tasted more like a roast beef, not a smoked brisket... jusy my opinion), wedding beans (good), coleslaw (okay - missing seasoning but the jalapeñobbq sauce worked great with it), Mac salad (okay - missing seasoning but the jalapeñobbq sauce worked great with it ), half chicken (good), onion rings (good), seasoned fries (good), jalapeño bbq sauce (went well with all above, no kick to it though for being jalapeño but tasted good). I'll go back again for some bbq and try a few other items on the menu if / when in the area. I would give it a 4.5 but can't, so I'll leave it with a 5. I will try the brisket again on the next visit to confirm my opinion on taste.

I retired recently and moved to Northern California. I was in town for a couple of doctor's appointments and my son texted me and asked for Cali Comfort. Because I was taking the food on the plane, I asked that they double bag it. They kindly did that plus secured the top to make sure nothing would fall out. We enjoyed our delicious BBQ in the comfort of our home. There is nothing better anywhere than their tender, smoked ribs. Love the sides, as well.

Stop reading this and make the drive out east if you really want the best BBQ that San Diego has to offer. I've been meaning to try this place and it exceed my expectations. We ordered the tailgater (feeds 4-5) ($79.99) which included: pulled pork, brisket, fall off the bone pork ribs, tri tip, chicken and rib tips. Along with potato salad, Mac N cheese, coleslaw, beans and cornbread. All of the BBQ meats were tender (No fork needed) and flavorful, but my favorites were the pulled pork and brisket.

This was the only place in our route home that we could find, and I could not be any happier about that. The place was clean, the staff very friendly and attentive. Food was ready in a short time and it was so delicious. Everything on point specially the ribs, and the jalapeño corn bread! We will be going back soon for sure!

I saw Jaycation’s YouTube and decided to give this place a try. It’s pretty far from my place, but it’s nice to go a little far to enjoy a delicious bbq lunch on Saturday. We ordered a combo plate- half rib and brisket with side potato salad and wedding beans. I definitely love their brisket a lot, the ribs are a little lean to my taste. I love fatty meats more. For side, I love potato salad, it’s a perfect one. Wedding beans are nice, but a little too sweet for my taste. Over the whole meal, my favorite is their jalapeño corn bread, it’s super super yummy. Next time, I should order a basket of corn breads.

Been here several times, great place to enjoy food and watch any major sport like baseball when the padres play. The service is great, the waitress attendence is fast and helpful. The brisket sandwich is delicious and goes great with the jalapeño bacon Mac and cheese!

I hate going to places where friends hype up how great the food is. This is NOT one of those places. It's JUST AS GOOD as my friends said, the service is quick, the online ordering is smooth, the drink selection is great, and the food itself is amazing. I loved the brisket, mac and cheese, and mac salad. Absolutely come and taste this place, as it does not disappoint.

Got 2x the big bbq sampler with ribs, brisket, 1/2 chicken, pulled pork. Sides are coleslaw, potato salad, macaroni & cheese 😶, baked beans, garden salad, and jalapeño cornbread muffins. Everyone loved it!

The food came fast, fresh, and hot. I really enjoyed the waiter and waitress who stopped by to see if they could get us anything else. It was family friendly, plus plenty of different TV screens. The food was FANTASTIC! There was soft cushioned booths, table & chairs with lots of counter top & stools to watch the sports on screens. I didn't feel crowded. Great place to eat. It seemed a little pricey but no more than other places these days, plus all the meat was so tender. We got a variety of BBQ meats and the sauce was the best, as I don't like heavy flavor to take away from the meat.

The ribs were very tender and tasty. Just back and tried the Brisket Sandwich and it was delicious!

Got the combo plate with pulled pork, brisket, fries, macaroni salad, and jalapeno biscuit. The bbq sauces weren't my preference, they were a little too sweet and tangy for me. My favorite thing was the fries and brisket. The Mac salad tasted off and was very bland. The pulled pork was dry.

Friendly wait staff, the Tri tip was sliced thin, I preferred the brisket. I was told the Mac and cheese was awesome here, but I've liked it better at other places like Bull's on Morena Blvd. Some of the seating is in bar type stools, outside it looked more like picnic tables. You order on your phone and can also pay on your phone.

The wings were amazing! I had the habanero wings and they were spicy, great Heat, brought a bit of a sweat but not so overbearing that you couldn't enjoy them! Granddaughter had the buffalo wings and she thought they were great. Also had the peach cobbler! Almost too sweet but paired with vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce, was yummy! Definitely will be going back and taking my husband next time. Also the servers were very friendly and helpful as my phone didn't want to do online ordering!

I haven't been here since the early stages of the renovations. And I must say, this place looks spectacular! I like how much more spacious it is. AND there is more parking. I'm not aware if the "across the street" parking is still available but, there was a lot right next door of the restaurant. Awesome, just awesome. I do remember back in the day, parking was a pain... It wasn't too busy. We were seated immediately! Everyone of the staff was friendly! You do have to use your phone to view the menu. And you get to use an app for the juke box! The food was amazing, as well as the service. I got extra cool points for the date with my girlfriend. She was a happy camper. Lol. Thank you, we will return for sure!!😀👍🏽

Overall it was an enjoyable experience and I would definitely return- the food was excellent! Got the tailgater combo for $88, which was very delicious & reasonable for the amount of food they give you. The only reason they got 4 instead of 5 stars is because they have transitioned from waiters taking your order to using QR codes to order... call me old-fashioned but I prefer real human interaction and ordering through an actual human being rather than ordering online or over an app.

We've been going to this location since the 80s, and it's great in every iteration! Wonderful food and thoughtful, kind service. We did love the breakfast menu from long ago, but this focus on BBQ is fantastic, too. Thank you, Cali BBQ!

Went for lunch just to check it out since I had never been, was very satisfied. I had the happy hour burger, mac n cheese and a beer for a reasonable price but the regular and jalapeño BBQ sauces were incredible. Definitely worth a stop if you're in the area.

Quick and easy to order and pay digitally from the table. Friendly service. Had the most delicious meal - every side item was yummy, the sauce was fantastic, the entrees were great.
