Dublin Square Irish Pub was the first on my list of pubs around San Diego to visit. Dublin Square is located in the middle of Gaslamp district just a few blocks away from the convention center train stop. So you could potentially could avoid $30 parking and just pay $2.50 to take the train and try some Irish Pub eating. I ended up ordering their fish and chips and I loved them. They were breaded with a panko crust and paired with thick french fries. The fish was very fresh, I think some of the freshest I've had in fish and chips for years. I sat by the window and was able to people-watch while I dined during a very beautiful day in San Diego. I ended the meal with their flourless chocolate torte with fresh berries and raspberry sauce. Everything was very good and I wouldn't mind going back to have the same thing again, although I'd really like to try some of their soups as they sounded very original.

One of our favorite places every time we visit San Diego. The place is clean and the staff are very nice. We usually order the shepherd's pie and the English breakfast. Service is quick and their alcoholic drinks are so good! We definitely recommend this place!

I enjoyed the outdoor seating and people watching. The service was great and the beer was cold. The fish and chips were well done and I especially enjoyed the curry sauce.

Fantastic little spot, with a great atmosphere. They have a great happy hour and game day specials. It's in downtown San Diego so parking can be hit or miss. Service was attentive but not overly so. The food was good but not amazing, was very reasonably priced though and the drinks were strong. I'll be back for sure.

This is the best Irish pub in SD, without a doubt.

The place was beautifully decorated and cozy, and the food menu seemed impressive and my waitress was friendly and helpful. But when the food came, and I got the sampler featuring the Irish nachos and Scottish eggs, it was not as good as I would have hoped for. I am glad I went when the appetizers were half off (the sample4 is normally $20!). The cheese wasn't melted at all on the Irish nachos, so the leftovers were great because I got to reheat them. And the Scottish eggs just didn't have a lot of flavor without me dipping them in an array of sauces. I visited this place alone. It took a long time after my food was served for me to be checked on- I was never offered water and I felt forgotten about by the friendly waitress which ended up making me late for other things because getting the check took so long. I think I might come here again, but only during Happy Hour, and maybe only if somebody else was with me. There seems to be a trend here in San Diego where if you visit an establishment as a single person, you get treated like an after-thought.

OMG!!! Really glad I visited here. Working over 12 hours at SDCC 2019 and in much need of a nice Guiness. I drank 3 back to back and they were the most crisp, fresh, smooth tasting drinks I had that week. I had to go back on Sunday with my wife and celebrate her birthday as it struck 12 midnight. Really great experience. The bartenders were really friendly both days and the fish n chips I indulged on were amazing. I dont know if it was because I was really hungry but everything was just right. I will be back next year when we are back at it again.

Love this place for their full irish breakfast. It is also available all day and night as well. For some reason a lot of British/Irish pubs don't carry this. They also actually include the black pudding, which a lot of places skip out on as well. Portion size was also good and the bread was tasty. Service was slightly slow but nothing too bad.

Food freshly made and ambience is excellent, if you don't like crowd much go during the day time. If you really want to enjoy the the real San Diego go during evening time to enjoy the real feel of San Diego where ppl come along and almost all bars and pubs are full. At Dubliner there's a waiting to get seated. But again the ambience and the merry moments created is exceptional. I would recommend go for some breakfast/lunch here and after you work/conference/tour come back here for the evenings or night life.
