Worst food. Bugs in my burger. Worst front door service from the bald bearded guy. Will never recommend or return.

I love this place when I visit San Diego and stay at the condos close by. We came here to watch the US vs UK soccer tournament Qatar 22. Great atmosphere with a mix of British and US locals. Of course I had to have a Guinness beer. I am good menu items lots of variety, and good selection of find spirits.

Happy New Years! Thank you to McGregor's Team for making our special day the most memorable with fun cheers and delicious food! 100% if you need a fun location with delicious food (highly recommend you try their potato soup it's the best <3 ) check this place out with your friends + family, or even plan an event of your own, you wont' be disappointed. Thank you Ian and Sam are the best to work with when planning a head and coordinating the day of special events. Special shout out to the chefs in the kitchen that put together a whole banquet out on time, hot, and delicious. And to John at the bar, a great bar tender, that makes drinks that will lift your spirt. Wishing McGregor's Grill all the best blessings in 2022 and beyond. Cheers!

This place deserves a negative 400 star. Its taken me a few days to collect myself and write down all my thoughts about this establishment. My friends and I(latina female) visited this bar on Saturday September 17, 2022 before and after the San Diego Wave FC game. When we returned after the game most of the crew got in line to enter however my best friend (white female) (who I have not seen in a few months) and I moved to the side and sat by some chairs in front of McGregor's to continue our conversation since we had been been having an emotional and important conversation. We spoke for a few minutes and due to the nature of the topic I teared up a bit and quickly wiped the tears away. No one close to us would've been able to hear our conversation because of the private nature of the topic. While we continued to talk, a McGregor's bouncer approached us and said that he would be unable to allow us into the establishment due to my "emotional state" and that he would be unable to serve us. I could not believe my ears and frankly did not understand what he meant because it made no sense. My friend, very calmly, asked him to repeat himself an explain why we would not be able to enter the establishment if we were a. of legal age, and b. in a perfectly normal state of mind to enter (Not falling of the table drunk, yelling, nor causing a scene). He just repeated that I was too emotional and he was not allowed to let us in. As I mentioned, we were quietly and calmly having a private conversation, far away from the entrance line, and not disrupting ANYONE. My friend mentioned our other friends were inside and asked if there was any chance we could be allowed in since we were both calm and of legal age and there was no legal reason that we should be barred. He later came back and said he would let us in. We went in just to tell our friends what had happened and we all quickly decided we would not continue to stay in such a MISOGYNISTIC establishment. Had we been men, this wouldve been a non issue. Men are allowed to be loud, (especially at sports bars where this is the norm) and to express their emotions. Funnily enough, as soon as we entered this clearly inebriated man threw a glass to the floor and shattered it and yet he was allowed to remain and a server cleaned it up. McGregor's clearly thinks being an "emotional woman" (barf) is worse that a drunken and potentially dangerous man. This bouncer and this bar targeted us because we are women and they clearly are prejudiced and do not deserve any woman's hard earned money. We did NOTHING wrong and yet were belittled by this man and this bar. tldr: This place is run and managed by misogynistic pigs and if you are a woman or an ally you should't spend your dollars there.

I wish they would have been more clear on their site. Place isn't Military or Veteran friendly. I wasted a drive up to have a meal and drinks. Unfortunately we already ordered our drinks or we wouldn't have wasted the money. There are so many better options in San Diego, save your trip. After reading the Owners response, I rest my case. I was asked to take my jacket off that was clearly patches from my campaigns that I served in and my ribbons from service. Maybe you didn't see the campaigns I served in because you were looking at the framed flag that came from the same ground I stood on. I'm not ashamed at all and I stand by my statement. Staff was very apologetic, owner speaks for himself. For those of you that think this is The amazing owner with the gifted flag vs. The Vet that should be ashamed of how he was treated, this is the jacket I was told to remove if I wanted to stay in his establishment.

McGregor's is a solid ish bar and grill. Doesn't offer military discount even though there's a giant flag near the front door "alleged from overseas" but offers a 20% discount to Industry Workers. Not sure how that came to be. I gotten a couple Space dusts as that my preferred IPA of choice. They were good. I had the potatoe skins, chicken tenders and spicy bird and all were very delicious. The house BBQ sauce with the tenders was very very good. Richie who helped me was very kind and helpful. I had asked for a Togo box and Togo cups. The lids didn't fit and had to be taped. Very strange. I also paid like 10$ for the juice box to not play any of the songs I requested. I waited a long while too. This place is an average sports bar with good food and drinks. Only reason it's not 5 stars is because there isn't a Military discount. Hope this helps. 🙏

I’ve been here on many occasions. I can not simply recommend this place after my last visit earlier today. After spending 37.33 after ordering 2 drinks and a potato skin plate. (With tip) I decided I didn’t care much for the food and got a burrito next door. Keep in mind I have been here many times. Spent hundreds here and even brought about 7 co workers to this establishment today. As I walked in with my 10 dollar burrito after already spending almost 40 dollars just today. They said you can’t eat that in here. I can’t eat a 10 dollar burrito in your bar after already ordering drinks and a food item? I’m no longer allowed to be inside your bar if I bring and consume an item from outside your bar after spending money at the establishment buying food and drinks? That’s wild to me. I definitely won’t be back. I would have ordered more drinks with my food had they allowed me to stay.

Nice bar, they had a lot of good beers and the food was also on point! Plenty of TVs, 4 pool tables, an outside area with overhead heaters, two separate bars. Yea this place is huge! Would recommend!

Amazing combination! Soft and crispy patato chips. Outstanding! The fries were amazingly cooked right. Everything from the taste a bit salty and soft just like fries should be. The bar seemed to get half my order a bit messed but they were amazingly fast and reasonable on correcting it. Great customer service The buns were just the right softness. The meat was medium rare and it was just cooked perfectly. Tender and juicy would be the right description. The cheeses were just rightly melted. They have pool for a dollar and after 10pm it is free. Outside patio sitting and a tune player.

Came for trivia night. Arrived a bit late, but joined in with the group I usually come with. Waitress comes over and asks my friend if she needs anything more, my friend asks for water for me. Waitress never came back to ask me if I wanted anything else, but checked on almost everyone else at the table. I've been here several times previously for trivia night and had a fine time, so that's why it's still 4 stars. They also have pool tables for those who are interested.

McGregor Grill had great food(I love their soups and they have a great pretzel, yum), great service and a really great atmosphere. Also a nice place to play some pool. The place is always clean when I go and usually busy. I usually enjoy their Guiness on Tap with my meal.

This place is great to hangout and chat with friends, watch games, play pool, bean bag toss outside, and host parties. I believe they also have events and live music. I love going on Mondays because that is when they serve their jalapeño mac n cheese. I recommend it with grilled chicken (need to add), won’t disappoint! I also recommend the fish and chips. Drink wise the cocktails I highly recommend they are all flavorful. There is seating outside and inside. Outside there is a small designated smoking area for people who do. If you look young enough upon entering there is always someone sitting out in the front to check for identification. Only persons of 21 and over are allowed into this establishment, regardless if they sell food.

Me and a friend went in for a quick beer. TWO 12 ounce bottles of Stella's cost $17.24. (The server had popped the tops off before I knew the price 🤷‍♂️) But after a tip, that's $20+! There's a liquor store literally right next door. I could've gotten a whole 12 pack for that price! As the saying goes... fool me once, shame on you! Fool me twice... there won't be a twice! I'm done! Price gouge someone else!

Friendly staff, great environment, all of the food I have had had been really good. They have lots to do like pool tables, shuffleboard and they even had Cornhole set up outside one day we went. Great little spot.

One of my favorite places but today my friend and I went there for lunch and they wouldn't let us enter because my friend was wearing a TANK TOP. Huh?? We went to San Diego Brewing Company instead. Told everyone about the tank top deal and everyone at SDBC had a big laugh about it. Whatever.

It's a cute little bar in a strip mall. Good drinks and an atmosphere. Pool tables are good too. Food is dry, a little bit better than hospital food.we usually go get drinks play pool and go somewhere else for food

The establishment is located in a little strip mall quite quaint and plenty parking. They have outside seating also completely accessible to the festivities inside. I'd recommend going on happy hour Baja fish tacos every Tuesday. I would highly recommend there extensive craft beer selections.

Best burgers and beer. Service is pretty awesome too.

The Baja fish tacos were pretty good but the fish and the tortilla were very oily. The mahi-mahi taco was much better and had more flavor. The garlic fries, cheese fries and the crispy zucchini were all very tasty and not too greasy but the zucchini would be much better if it had a dipping sauce with it.

Second time I've been here for a get together with former coworkers. The atmosphere is great, plenty of space for large groups, pool tables and some entertainment. I haven't eaten here but the food looks appetizing.

I really enjoyed the beer and Irish Car Bombs. The vibes here are very nice. Excellent service. However, I cannot recommend eating here. Maybe some fries or potato skins, and that's it. I arrived hungry and ready to eat, and didn't bother with my 2nd shrimp taco. I powered through the 1st one, it was bland and the shrimp tasted microwaved or overcooked for sure.

The Bathroom here always smells below the average restaurant in town. Plenty of pool tables to play which is cool but also bugs in the bottles. Music is ok but mostly Ghetto crowded. Disgusted by the lack of sanitation and cleanliness and I’m not even a Germaphobe. Watch your drink when you play, someone could snatch it. Seriously.

Great Irish pub with pool tables and live music. Great selection of beers and nuts during St. Patty's day. Another hidden gem here in SD. Food is good too.

Was there for the Padres' victory over Dodgers! Decent food. Lots of fun. Understandable that service was a little slow because of the crowd.

Drinks were well made. Music was a bit to loud. Our waitress was not very attentive. Had to wait awhile to order and to get refills. She was very busy flirting with a man seeming to be her boyfriend seated at the bar.

Stopped in for happy hour. Nice beer selection and the eats were very good. Friendly servers and clean restrooms. Several pool tables available too.
