👍 This place was very busy! We still managed to get out food within 10 minutes and it was great. I had a huarache Azteca! We also ordered a Queso Fundido. We finished it up with a Flan. Pretty delicious flan. The service was great but the place was a bit messy when we got there. Overall great experien... People often mention good, service, restaurant, Chula, Vista, waitress,

My wife and I visited this restaurant recently while visiting the Chula Vista third avenue strip. We ordered carne asada, some drinks and other plates while enjoying the US vs Mexico Gold Cup final on their multiple big screen TVs. The food was great, service was excellent and the atmosphere (Soccer fans) top notch. We will be back.

First time eating at this place a few days ago the young waitress ( green eyes) helping our table was very nice , food was okay. The reason why I am writing this review is due to me overhearing another waitress ( older lady with glasses ) who was helping an older gentleman next to me, he asked “que sodas tiene” and the waitress responded “ no pregunte que tenemos, solo diga y yo le digo si hay o no!” I was very surprised and thought that was extremely disrespectful to the customer. I understand she was busy but that is her job and if she does not like it, she should find another one. Again food was not the best, but I will give it another try and hopefully not interact with this person.

The chicken mole is one of the best things I've ever tasted! I had the adobada, which was fantastic, but the mole is over the top. The restaurant is under relatively new management, and the quality is through the roof. If you haven't been, do yourself a favor and enjoy!

Absolutely horrible service, I had brought in a group of people (6)all of us in good spirit, upon getting a table sitting down the server lady with a bun (I didnt get her name) without introducing herself or the menu had rudely said we will be one receipt no exceptions than proceeded to ask what we wanted with a stink face, again no grace or no menu was given within this 5 minute interaction. I have came here several times, and I have never had this experience, very embarrassing service to bring people over to. We hadn’t felt comfortable and told the Server Lady with a Bun we would be leaving the table she had very loudly blessed us. Again no grace at all. We had never raised our voice nor had ill intentions unlike the server lady. Needless to say bad service

Awful customer service, We were waiting and nobody approached. I asked the waitress several times for coffee and she insisted that someone will come. She came and move us to another table because the one she first gave us, was "reserved". 4 waitress were there, and none could come to serve. One asked the other to bring us coffee an she said "oh no, I won't do it". I would not five them a single star. They're the worst!!!!

Love this place. The maiz tortillas are so good and authentic. None of that sandpapery stuff. Yellow thick tortillas that smell amazing. Chile relleno is very good, anything you prder here is good. Its authentic, not taco shop or whitewashed food which i love.

I got the breakfast burrito and it was super yummy. I ate it as I was getting my hair done next door.

I have been coming for some time now. The food has always been hot, fresh, and good tasting. Today was a lunch meal a bread steak, fries, salad with rice and beans. I wasn't expecting the rice and beans a bonus and "yummie." A side note that their breakfast are just as delicious. Thank you!

El comal restaurant what's a really good place for me and my wife. We got there and they took care of us right the way. The waitress was awesome, the service was perfect and all and all everything was very good. The one thing you have to keep in mind is that you have to park at the back and you have to pay for parking. The price was .25 per hour. What made it very nice is that when we placed the order our waitres was always checking on us and she always made sure that we had chips and salsa as well as once the food was served that nothing was missing. They have plates for everyone, they have good food little kids as well as for adults. There is a handicap entrance upfront, they have chairs for little kids and also they serve cocktails. They have good desserts and very spicy and none spicy food. My wife and I really enjoyed the environment, service and food, we will come back another day. Did I also mentioned that they are right in 3rd Ave in Chula Vista close to ask the Chula Vista down town has to offer! Enjoy this place. P.S. the cook was awesome and the portions were big!

This is a great little restaurant in the heart of downtown Chula Vista, we were actually going to go next door to the grindhouse coffee shop, but we were mesmerized by the pictures of wonderful Mexican breakfast dishes! The ambiance is very warm with cute little adages on the walls. I enjoyed the machaca con huevos and my husband had the Chilaquiles con carne asada en salsa roja, and we shared a bowl of menudo. A bit much for two, but I had to try the menudo. I was not disappointed! The menudo was amazing, the broth was rich and hot, a good amount of tripe, although I would have liked more honeycomb tripe. The best for last, the cafe de la olla, so delicious and free refills to boot! Service was good, the elderly gentleman is very funny and welcoming and seems quite attentive. It is so nice to see downtown Chula Vista thriving on a Sunday morning.

Great little Mexican restaurant located in the heart of downtown Chula Vista. Wasn't packed around brunch time on a Thursday. They serve chips and salsa before you meal. The queso dip appetizer with tortillas is really good. Very gooey and cheesy. They still offer straws, I politely declined mine. Server was very nice and attentive. They have a few vegetarian options, I got the veggie fajitas which came with a side of rice, beans and avocado. The tortillas are made there; they are thick and hot🤤. Between the appetizer, and my meal, I had to get a to-go box. If you're in the area, it's definitely worth trying.

It's a ok restaurant. Service is a little slow, menu is not as extensive as other restaurants, and food I felt it was average. If I can cook better than the restaurant, then I don't know why I'm there. I ended up paying $116.83 for a breakfast of 4, with one drink each.

Very surprised. I didn't hear good stuff about the taste, glad I tried for myself. Had the machaca con huevo, it was excellent. The corn tortillas are fresh, the nice thick ones! My bro had the huevos divorciados.. so so good.. Mmmm mmm, try it, you won't regret it.

I came in and the restaurant was full, I didn’t have to wait a lot, I ask for Huevos al albañil and was really good!!

Food was fine, not excellent. Mire than half of the tables had chairs on top forcing patrons to sit too close to others. This two hours before their announced closing time. The 4th star is because the older gentleman that waited my table was polite and professional.
