Nice cozy place with a Mexican atmosphere. Great food quality and excellent customer service. The wait is usually about 30 min but it’s understandable because there Is a limited amount of space for patrons. The omelets are a great option for breakfast since the have a lot of different ingredients and sauces for them. I love the Punos you must try them ! Always a good experience.

This is a small unssumimg place. But their food is packed with flavor! Try their cafe de olla for a special treat. If you like enchiladas,do yourself a favor and get them with the poblano cream sauce! AHHH-MAZING! Their mole is also the best I've ever had. The 4 star rating is for the service. U have flag servers down for coffee/drink refills. They do not come around to check on you. Also, even if there are only 2 people are the table, they will not remember who bad which dish. They just start passing out VERY hot plates. It's up to u & your family to get the right plates to the right people. Lol! Other than that, its a great place! The food makes up for the service for sure!

1st time at Talavera Azul Restaurant.... Chilaquiles Verde with Shredded Beef was great. Beef was cooked perfect . Quesadilla with arrachera meat plate was also good.. Meat cooked medium and not burned... All plates had great taste.. We will return.....

Not the authentic chilaquiles I’m used to but still very delish! The Cafe de la Olla was amazing. Wish they could serve chips with the salsa.

Quality breakfast spot that can get quite busy. Brimming with locals, this place offers excellent Mexican breakfasts at a reasonable price.

Amazing food, affordable prices and the service is very good. There's always a waiting time but is totally worth it. The staff is very friendly and overall, the place is perfect for the whole family.

This place was extraordinary! It's artistic Mexican themed environment gives you a welcoming at home vibe! I've only been there twice now, but was not disappointed with the food!! The flavors are authentic and the quality is impressive!! Portions are just the right size!! Had an excellent server the first time, wish i would have asked her name, second time the 2nd server not as friendly but decent! Only problem is this place is always crowded! Which tells you how amazing they are. Just go with patience knowing you will wait a bit, but the experience makes it worth it!!

Talavara Azul in Chula Vista is an excellent breakfast spot known for its clean bathroom and serving fresh orange juice. However, be prepared for a potential wait during busy hours. The cleanliness of the bathroom demonstrated their commitment to maintaining a hygienic environment. Their breakfast menu offers a wide variety of options, including traditional favorites and savory burritos. I highly recommend trying the Huevos Rancheros. Was enchiladas poblanas and enchiladas salsa verde. To satisfy our sweet tooth, we also indulged in the French toast. It was a delightful treat--golden and crispy on the outside, while fluffy and luscious on the inside. The staff provided exceptional service, and the cozy ambiance added to the overall dining experience. If you're willing to endure a potential wait, Talavara Azul is definitely worth a visit for their fantastic breakfast.

Extremely good place. Huge fan of their chilequiles! They have a bunch of different varieties and the price is reasonable! Strongly recommend to others.

Stopped here for breakfast as I was reading some good reviews, for our party of 9 we called ahead trying to avoid a long wait, we got seated after only 10 minutes, the servers were very helpful, food was good, not great, coffee was ok too, very pricey for the quality of food offered, we dropped 140.00 and we had three little kids and 6 adults (one of the adults only had a cup of coffee). So I might go back to try a different plate but again maybe I just go somewhere else. Please note I didn't post any photos, understand I only take pics of good looking meals and this food just didn't make the cut.

I ordered mole and chipotle chilaquiles with shredded chicken. It was delicious. They have café de olla (coffee with cinnamon), it's very good and sweet. No need to add any sugar at all Clean place. Food portion is big. Kids loved it too. The place is great and staffing very friendly.

Not the best chilaquiles out there but it was good... It's a nice place to go with friends, or family but not that tasty. Anyway, the service is good!

A little too packed/small. Wait time is decent. Customer service has never been horrible, but we have felt the "cold shoulder". Food and cafe are always good.

The Chilaquiles here are absolutely delicious and such generous portions. They have a ton of options for proteins and sauces and even allow you to do half and half sauces. The poblano crema is particularly good! The atmosphere was relaxing and the service was quick and courteous. I would highly recommend for breakfast or brunch! There was a wait of about 30 minutes the day we were there and there was a nice little sidewalk with lots of benches to sit on while waiting.

The first time I ate at this restaurant I tried the Machaca Sonora and I definitely loved it! But the second time, which was today.. I ordered café de olla and my opinion it was very sweet and it didn't taste as it should. Also, I want to inform that I ordered French toast "to go" and it was horrible (I've included a picture) definitely it was a waste of my money.

Expect a wait to be seated. The service was friendly and spoke in Spanish. Without hesitation, I was knew I wanted to order chilaquiles. Luckily, the menu has option of chilaquiles divorciados that allows you to try two sauces. I picked the poblano and chipotle sauces with two eggs. It was incredibly delicious. My friend ordered omelette and chipotle chilaquiles. We had plenty of leftovers and very likely to return.

My cousin invited us to eat here, so this is our first time, and the chilaquiles are so delicious we will definitely be back.

All the food we got was well seasoned. Mole sauce on the chilaquiles was really really good. Reasonably priced. This place is a solid brunch spot in downtown Chula Vista.

Wow! This was a nice restaurant with outstanding breakfast. My wife said the best she’s ever had. Everything we ordered was delicious: eggs, sausage, bacon, potatoes, french toast, and smoothies. Friendly service and reasonable prices. It did get very busy with long wait times, even on a Tuesday, but we avoided that by getting there early. Goes to show it’s a popular spot for locals, and for good reason!

Very nice local restaurant. The Sonora machaca is very good. There was alittle mix up with the order but everything was worked out. The server was very nice and the Coffee with cinnamon is great. We'll definitely be back!

One of the best breakfasts place I’ve been to! Everyone was welcoming and friendly. The poblano sauce chilaquiles are the best I’ve ever had. I’ll be back ever time I’m in the area!

The restaurant feels very crowded with little space between tables and it's hard to hear each other because of how crowded it is. There were no high chairs for children. We were still eating and felt rushed to leave. After the waitress gave us our bill she came about 3 times to check if we had already put our card on the bill and then just flat out asked us to give her the card so she could pay. It was not that close to closing time and people were still coming in to start their meal so I don't understand what the hurry was. The food is okay but nothing special, but I don't think I'll be coming back because of the bad service and cramped space.

We came in and were told as estimated wait time and we are were fine waiting as long as we were notified. The time passed and I checked in and asked the woman up front roughly how much longer the wait would be since the time we were given had arrived and she said, 'Go outside and wait your turn!' I was surprised with her comment, tone and rage and the way she phrased it and then stepped back and waited outside. Once we were seated after 1 hour and a half later, then we ordered our food and we asked for a few other things. Once we got our order, both plates were wrong and we asked if they could please fix it, then the waitress got upset with us for their mistake. As I was still eating my food and took a sip of my water, the waitress took my plate I was still not done eating. Overall, I hope this was an off day for the waitress and hostess and that this doesn't happen to you on your visit. I don't like leaving negative reviews but when things are wrong and people aren't treated with kindness and respect, I have to speak out about it.

Food was great! Authentic and delicious. A little disappointed with the store bought tortillas and my husbands food was cold while mine was piping hot. There was definitely a wait as they were very busy. Overall I would definitely come back but I would come earlier. Definitely would recommend!

Waited for a really long time was a mission just for breakfast. Waited for like 1 hours to be seated them 40 minutes for the food. Was pretty good but it’s pretty long for breakfast.

The food is good, service is good, really clean place, one thing I didn't like was the hostess eyeing my companion as for to leave the premises, we were not given an specific time frame to dine so I find that unpleasant, and also when we were given our change back the lady told us she was sorry but they didn't have enough cash so $2 were missing on the change 🤷🏼‍♀️

Had machaca and eggs with beans on the side. A little pricey for this dish (overall the prices are very reasonable) but it was delicious. I need to go back and try some more!
