Realized why I haven't gone back in over two years. Ordered BBQ mix plate for $14. That short rib in the picture has not been eaten on, that was what they gave me. Won't be back. Final nail in the coffin

Horrible I use to love this place now I'm sick with bad case of diarea and may have to be hospitalized due to in uncooked chicken. I called and let them know right away and just wanted then to let cooks know, of course there was no urgency, or compassion. I added pictures they would not add shows receipt and uncooked garlic chicken.

I used to love L&L but the last time I went might be the last time I ever go to this location. I ordered a mini chicken katsu plate and a 2 piece spam musubi. The kastu had a long hair in the batter and the musubi had a hair in the rice. Last time I'll be going there.

Love this place! The riblet and shrimp lunch/plater is my favorite and my go to meal every time I stop in. I haven’t had anything that is bad here and really enjoyed the hospitality of the staff. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a good place for lunch or dinner.

Food was tasty but catering was a mess. They delivered the food 30 minutes early so it was cold when it was time to serve. The girl who delivered it parked so far away from the building when there was a clear parking lot for her to park in right next to where the food was to go. The most annoying part was we had to carry the hot trays of food and I actually burned myself, she should have carried the trays as it's part of her job! I don't mind helping but she didn't even try or offer, just handed us the hot trays. And they only gave us about 15 sauces for 50 people. Also they provided no napkins or forks like they said they would over the phone. I did not even tip her for the poor service. I will say they quoted us the wrong price and at least honored their mistake and gave us the price they quoted us, so two stars for that and good food but I probably will not get catering from this location again.

This is the second time my short ribs taste like straight up fabulouso cleaner. Like they sprayed it with it and now I can't get that taste out of my mouth!

This was our first time trying L&L and we were amazed. We got the half and half BBQ beef and chicken Katsu, it came with rice and macaroni salad. The beef was so flavorful and chicken was tender snd delicious. Rice was great, and macaroni salad was really nice. The portion size is so good, will get you full for sure. We had an amazing experience here and will surely come back to try out other items on their menu.

The food is consistent across all L&Ls so you know what your getting. The service st this place was a bit lax but not bad. It was completely empty at lunch time which I found strange but if you're in a Rush that's a good thing. Over all not a bad choice.

So the portion sizes have definitely decreased yet the prices are constantly increasing. The food is still prepared fresh and hot, which is a pro. We ordered the bbq mix and was given 1 short rib??! What the description states short ribs, bbq chicken, and bbq beef. You get 4 mini pork lumpia for $4.50 overpriced. The lumpias are half the size of normal lumpia. They did sell iced coffee, but they don’t anymore. I loved their iced coffee with coconut crème. Ummmm, probably won’t be returning anytime soon. The prices are extremely high in comparison to the portions.

Not sure if all L&Ls taste the same, so I'm going to try another location. I'm eating fish these days (trying for no red meat or game... just for a season guys)so I didn't sample my family's food. My husband got the BBQ short ribs combo, my son ordered the beef bowl, and I of course asked, fish pls with vegetables.. I didn't see it on the menu outside of a seafood order but they said they would accommodate me. Lord, and did they. They gave me 3 fish fillets! The veggies were a side dish. My son gobbled his beef bowl down in zero flat, said it was amazing. He still had room.... So I gave him some of my fish. My husband eyeballed my fish, so I gave him some, too. Then he wanted more of the fish. Lol. Yes, We loved the hot, steaming fish.😍 The veggies could have used some seasoning, but hey, it's healthy. And who doesn't like Hawaiian macaroni salad? We brought whatever leftovers home. The meal came with Hawaiian bread. I wish the Hawaiian bread came warmed. The passion fruit canned juice I bought was delicious, but it went down too quickly. Thankfully, I had bottled water in my purse! The place had a steady stream of visitors who predominately ordered take out. We ate in and enjoyed the calm.

The same order manages to look different too often. Now they put the mac salad from multiple individual plates into one container.

Food was undercooked and not seasoned. My wife picked the food up and they said it wasn’t ready , she waited 20 minutes and then the staff figured out that the food on the counter was her order. Better off goi g to the Sweetwater location.

L&L Hawaiian Barbecue is a good family business. I say this because Hawaiia is my home, but take my words for it and if you guys havent try Hawaiian barbecue it's time to go there.

Please consider opening one up at the large Naval base in Norfolk Virginia. This restaurant will POP in Virginia.🤩

Great but pricey

I really like this place but today was a really dissappointed.. first hey give me the wrong order... they didnt have ice i. The fountain soda. Kimchi rice was nasty..I MEAN NASTY.!!! SMELL BAD AND TASTES REALLY BAD.I WISH THEY CAN FIX THIS PROBLEMS...

My husband & I were craving for short ribs so we decided to go to this location (in Eastlake) and boy, are we GLAD that we did!!! We were pleasantly surprised that both our orders had generous portions of short ribs!! I also purchased a couple of Guava drinks and a cookie to complete my meal. 😊 The short ribs were so delicious!!! We will definitely be back!!!

Food is always good but the review is mainly for false advertisement. I get it’s only a dollar but your menu literally says 1 scoop of Mac salad or tossed salad. Not Mac salad or tossed salad +1$

We stopped in here to grab lunch quickly on a Sunday afternoon. There were several people waiting on their order already when we arrived around 1pm so we would have been a little better off ordering ahead of time but only ended up waiting about 15 minutes for our food. We ordered lumpia, the garlic shrimp plate and the mixed BBQ plate. Both came with white rice and macaroni salad but we swapped out the rice for fries with one of the dishes for an extra $1. My favorites by far are the garlic shrimp and the mac salad! There were about a dozen pieces of shrimp in the regular sized order. The mixed BBQ plate came with two pieces of chicken thigh, two pieces of beef and one rib piece. The lumpia order comes with four pieces. There was plenty of food for the two of us and we had leftovers as well. I’ve been here several times but it’s been a couple years since I’ve visited and everything tasted just the same. This place is always a hit and I look forward to returning again soon.

The food was good and the portions were fair. Clean dining area, brightly lit. The gals at the counter were smiling, friendly, and bubbling with fun energy. I ordered the Loco Moco. I don’t know what the words mean but the food was tasty. I want to try some other items on the menu, so I will be back.

I'm from Hawaii and been to L&L while living there. However, the Kalua pig and laulau plate for the first time and it was wonderful and reasonably priced. Wish they had poi with the meal 😩

I guess it's the best BBQ I've ever had from a restaurant. The only thing I don't like here is their rice. It's sticky and tasteless. I wish their rice was like Luna (which is a Persian-style rice. )

3 stars because the food was good however the customer service was mediocre and they price their food higher than other L&L bbqs. I paid 25$ for a bbq mix plate and 1 spam musubi which I thought was odd so I searched a different location and they were in fact cheaper.

Good food at an affordable price! The female cashier working around noon on Thursday 10/5 was friendly and was working very hard to get everyone taken care during the lunch rush!

l&l is the best for a rice bowl or just any casual plate of japanese/ Hawiian food. It's the stuff I grew up on. very authentic to my Japanese household, same food my mom made us at home. Always yummy!

The chicken katsu was cooked just right so as to not be dried out. The bbq mix plate delicious. The macaroni a bit on the bland side, but overall scrumptious.

Good eats here though sometimes the wait is a little long. Just so you know the mini has the same meat as a full plate, just a single scoop of rice and mac salad. Yum!

This restaurant is obviously one of the most attractive place to eat in the area. Always when I visit this place I am exceedingly pleased. They preserve their very high standard service and the topmost level of dishes they provide. You will be always satisfied with this place.

Great food

We ordered the kimchi rice and 3 spam musubi. It took a little longer then it was suppose to and they didn't day aloha which I personally enjoy but no biggie

Very slow and bad customer service

This place never fails to deliver. They have excellent food for convenient rates, there no long wait even when the spot is packed.

Been here a few occasions and the food is sub par. The customer service here is what makes me not want to go there ever again. Tried calling in a order and it took 5-10 minutes to finally get through. When I finally did - the rude lady who answered the phone put me on hold for another 5 minutes. If you can’t get your staffing levels appropriate - why have a bushiness? AVOID THIS PLACE!

This place sure knows how to serve their customers. Constantly with a very friendly approach. The food is conveniently priced, constantly tasty and neat.

This L&L is so Bomb I had to stop midway through my meal just to leave this review! I got the garlic shrimp plate, and compared to other L&Ls they really pay attention to detail. The garlic butter shrimp was delicious, the cabbage was minced just right (garlic shrimp plates at other l&ls just feel rushed). At this L&l it does not feel like fast food. 👍👌 Will always go here..

This place was absolutely amazing. Definitely one of the top BBQ places I have been to in Houston. I ordered the two meat plate, which comes with two sides. I elected to have the pork ribs, brisket, mac&cheese, and charro beans. I also added queso/chips. This is a fast casual joint. You order at the counter and shuffle down the line to pick out your sides and other accompaniments. After you pay, you can then travel to their condiments bar to load up on different sauces, peppers, etc. L & L Hawaiian Barbecue
