Great tour. The captain and guide were excellent. A lot of good and interesting information was shared. It was a little bit cold given the odd weather last week but blankets were available .

If I could give this place more than five stars I would amazing customer service let me tell you our tour guide Amy was just like perfect super awesome it was great for the kids she was so interactive with them it was awesome and not only did we see seals but we saw dolphins and a military helicopter and a couple of ships and let me tell you these people know their stuff they know exactly what everything is it was so informative we had an hour on the water and about half an hour on the road and even when you're on the road they knew everything! I am so glad that we booked this tour this is the best one out of all the tours I've been on here! An absolute must if you have kids! They even had blankets for when we got cold!

Loved our tour. We went out on the water to see sea lions and also saw some dolphins, lots of cool birds and the crew had a great Sense of humor. There were a lot of puns all around. We learned a lot about the harbor and Bay Area, as well as the local military efforts and the marine life

Fantastic, very informative and unforgettable 90-minute experience 🦭💕 Our captain Cowboy 🤠 and 1st mate Mermaid 🧜‍♀️ were amazing and kind! Not only can you see San Diego landmarks but also beautiful sea life, view and the city skyline from the Hydra Terra (🚢+🚌) During the tour, once you feel the fresh breeze from the cost line, all your worries and concerns that you might have will already disappear! Definitely recommend this tour to all!

Captain Fozii and Mermaid were AWESOME!!!! We were in town for one day and needed something to do. Rather than driving around and trying to find something we decided to do the Seal Tour. We are incredibly happy that we did!!! It was one of the most amazing days we have had in a long time! Not only was the tour informative but it was so much fun. Mermaid has such a great upbeat attitude and can really work the crowd. She was helpful by taking pictures for you and getting in the pics with you too. My wife and I walked away in such a great mood. Literally just a great experience all around. I recommend this trip as much as I can possibly recommend it.

This was a fun short tour for the family to take. We couldn't make this work in the evenings while on a 'workcation' in SD so we decided to do it first thing on a Sunday before we headed for a long car ride home. Check in was simple we left out of seaport village! Cute little area. We went in July and got there before 10am did not have any issue finding parking. We were early and got to see the tour before us head out, I can definitely say the tour guides have very different personalities, and we were very pleased to get Justine & Adam. They seat by order of arrival so get there early if you have a large group and don't want to break up. Masks were required through the city and coule be removed on water, but we as a family are staying masked to help protect our youngest who has not been able to be vaccinated due to age and allergies. They do a tour through the city on the way to the piers and then hit the water! The seals on our day were minimal but the kids were happy. We liked seeing all the fisherman working where the seals hang out and nap! All the historical monuments and military history along the way was very interesting. Definitely a great addition to the end of our mini vacation. We went with kids ages 6-14 and each one had some point of the tour they enjoyed!

I had a wonderful time going on this tour. Captain Squiggles and 1st Mate Bailey were AwEsOmE!!! They made sure we were safe and entertained throughout the tour. Bailey was GREAT at memorizing all the kids' names too. She had great music playing. Oh and she had blankets to share if anyone was cold. 🙂 Definitely something to do while visiting beautiful San Diego. 💙

This is a tour you're going to want to take when you are in San Diego. IT IS A BUS THAT TOURS THE CITY AND GOES STRAIGHT INTO THE WATER TO TOUR THE SD BAY! We frequently visit family in SD and we were looking for something to do. At first, we thought this was just a bus that looks like a boat that tours the city, but no, it goes into the water. There are no bad seats. What an amazing and exciting experience! Our tour guide that day was very informative and she was very funny as well. We could hear her just fine as she spoke through the mic. We learned a lot that day and our driver / captain during that boat tour was great at getting us around town and around the waters. Make sure to tie your hair up if you have long hair and don't bring a hat. It can get quite windy. We had a blast and we got pretty close to the seals that were sunbathing on the dock. Pretty cool!

Our group absolutely loved our tour! Our captain and his helper Mermaid provided a great experience as we drove through the streets and sailed through the water. We got to see a lot of sea lions on the tour too which was pretty awesome. Edit: I attached some really cool videos I took while on the trip.

Awesome land and water tour on a cool bus/boat. It's only about 90 minutes, but that was perfect for us. We got a lot of good information and saw some wonderful sights around Point Loma and the surrounding areas.

Great experience, one of the must-do things in San Diego! 1.5 hour tour, starting with the drive over to Shelter Island, than taking to the water with a cruise through the bay. Danney and Bailey were entertaining hosts! I recommend morning tours, as there seems to be more activity in the harbor and on the naval base. We got to see plenty of helicopters and planes taking off and landing at North Island, SEAL training crews, fishing boats unloading with all the related sea lion and pelican activity, who are trying to get a dropped fish here and there. A couple of destroyers coming in, and a parked submarine from up close were cool too.

Lt. Dan and Cpt. Frank were friendly, informative and funny. We were curious how the vehicle works and really had fun in it. Along with the sea life we also saw a huge military ship escorted out as it departed, as well as all of the landmarks along the route. Definitely would recommend this activity, and would go out with them again.

One week ago we went to the tour and it was EXTRA boring. There were only 5 seals, on which we were looking from a very far distance. Very old vintage music, very boring speech, and just very VEEEERY boring. But there was a one plus, me and my family slept really good during the tour. I don’t recommend it, don’t spend your money or time.

It was fun and entertaining. Our guides made it eventful and we learned quite a bit about the area that we otherwise would have (historic ships, Top Gun filming, wildlife, navy ships, downtown, etc) . But if you're going to just see the wildlife, you can drive to the doc and look at them without the guide. I'm sure they go to different locations so knowing where exactly they are throughout the year is nice but I suppose you can ask around too. We drove from the pickup location to the doc and straight into the water. The kids really thought that was cool. We had a great time so I'm giving it a 5 star.

The seal tour was very unique and unlike anything we have ever done before. I love that they drive you around on land first before taking you on the water as opposed to just having you board at the harbor. We did a ton of activities in San Diego but this was the most memorable experience of them all. We saw around 30 seals. I have never been so close to one in their natural habitat. You also get to see navy ships which is cool as well. I recommend to anyone in the San Diego area to hop on board and take the tour. It will be an experience you will never forget. The captain is great and has some fun stories to add to the trip.

Absolutely amazing. Our Captain Chill and Bailey were fantastic. Bailey kept the tour fun and light. We were able to see Navy Seal training, sea lions and so much more. The information was great and the ride so smooth. A must do while in San Diego!

Sea Lions! DOLPHINS! We even saw 2 F-18's taking off. It was such a great tour, and the tour guides were fantastic. We learned all sorts of tidbits about San Diego history. Can't recommend it highly enough.

Captain Johnny and First Mate Amy made this a great tour! This is an excellent way to see a lot of stuff you wouldn’t get to see on other tours. Things like the Bait Barge, the Marine Corps and Coast Guard operations, and even some Navy dolphins if you’re lucky. We saw sea lions and a lot of great architecture. Highly recommend this tour, and this crew!

  • 5/5 Captain V. 3 years ago on Google
The tour was fun and reasonable price. The tour guide and the boat captain were very professional. We enjoyed our seal tour. Highly recommended. If you happen to be in San Diego - this is a must experience tours of sights and sounds by the sea and watch the seals in North San Diego Bay area.

I HIGHLY recommend any and all of the San Diego Old Town Trolley tours! Always such helpful service, so much great info to learn, and always entertaining delivery from the many talented tour guides there! The SEAL tour was great if you want to get out on the bay! Most of the tour was in the bay and, therefore, most of the historical information we learned was military related. Saw lots of ships and enjoyed learning what they were for. We saw seals too and learned a lot about the marine mammal training program too! The tour guide was so friendly and fun and went around offering to take pictures for everyone. 5/5 recommend!

A wonderful Tour of the Gorgeous San Diego Bay. We had a great Captain and First Mate. Brett made the ride fun, lots of interesting information on the history behind the buildings, the military and the landmarks. I enjoyed it and recommend it highly.

Captain John and Amy were great! The tour is a fun way to see some of the city of San Diego, and a lot of the marina and water! If you are military you will appreciate it because they point out various points of interest with regards to the Marines, and the Navy, including some pretty cool "secretive" stuff that I won't mention here (you'll have to take the tour to find out). All in all, its great for the family, and after you can dine and walk Sea Port Village which is where you catch the tour bus!

My Aunts were visiting from Hawaii and we decided to do the Seal Tour on a Monday. We basically had the whole tour to ourselves. It's lively and entertaining but also educational to learn about the historic facts around San Diego And although seal/ sea lion sightings aren't guaranteed we saw a bunch! The photo opportunities were plenty! I highly recommend it whether you're visiting or living in SD. Great for families with kids too!

  • 4/5 Emily C. 2 years ago on Google
A fun time geared towards children but fun for all ages. I wish we would’ve spent a little more time seeing the seals and seal lions, but I understand it takes awhile to get out into the bay. The staff does a great job sharing history and keeping everyone entertained during the less interesting parts of the journey.

I would 100% recommend to anyone. It was very nice, especially on the water. We had Captain Cowboy and 1st Mate Charlie, man all I can say is Charlie knew his information, we learned a lot from him. He even offered to take your families photos multiple times, which is nice. They’re good at what they do. My family and I enjoyed it.

I had the pleasure of riding with Cap Justine and 1st mate mermaid. Mermaid was entertaining enjoyable and informative I really appreciate it how she made the tour fun and even gave us pause time to just enjoy the scenery with musik in the background. She even offered to take pictures of everyone one by one. It was an enjoyable experience. I learned a lot. I also really appreciate Captain Justine making sure that we all went to and fro safely. Overall I would definitely recommend it was a nice plus adding to my visit to San Diego. Even if I didn't see any seals just to see the Open water would have been enough for me.

One of the first thing you should do when visiting San Diego. You get a good overview of everything San Diego and learn about its history through land and water. Our captain was Cowboy and 1st mate Charlie. Charlie is amazing and has a thorough knowledge of San Diego. He gives you a full overview of San Diego during the trip. Both Charlie and Cowboy are very friendly and makes your trip a fun trip. We saw sea lions and warships during the trip. Trip lasts close to 90 mins. Parking is available in many lots and they can give you a discount or may validate it for you.

Great place for kids. They have closed several events when we visited. Disappointed. Finding GOOD vegetarian food was very difficult and whatever we got was tasting bad. ORCA show was excellent and Dolphin's show was not that impressive.

We had a great time. The guide was funny (but not corny) and incredibly knowledgeable. The 90 mins flew by and we learned so much about the city we have lived in for 8 years. Highly recommend it. We took our two children. The 5-yr-old loved it and the 2-yr-old lasted about an hour (the only options were close to nap time, so this was our fault)! The kids were invited to the front to sit next to the captain!

  • 2/5 Juan R. 3 years ago on Google
Please let me start off by saying that the captain seemed very friendly, and asked me to check with the lady where the tickets were being sold. But that's where it went South, I don't remember the ladies name but she was very rude! She was an older white lady, with no customer service skills whatsoever. I would give only one star but like I said, the captain seemed very friendly. I hope she's not a permanent employee.

This is the most unprofessional tour I've ever encountered. My partner and I checked in an hour early and were told our tour had been combined with another tour and we would leave at 2:30pm. We came back at 2:20 to find the ladder for the vehicle was already lifted and the first mate telling us the tour was full. Everyone that we tried to talk to to understand why we weren't being let onto the tour that we had already paid and checked in for was very rude and never even once apologized about the situation. I don't understand how this happened and it was very upsetting to have to deal with, we were really looking forward to this tour and had planned our day around it.
