You get what you pay for from this hotel. You have to pay a $100 security deposit so be sure to take photos of the existing damages in your room. They also make you sign a paper saying the hotel is not liable for any theft so we didn't leave any of our valuables in our room while we were gone. The rooms are pretty well maintained and modernly furnished but the walls and doors are grimy and water damaged in some spots. I also found our room to have a subtly strange odor but my husband didn't notice it (I'm more sensitive to that sort of thing). We could hear almost EVERYTHING our neighbors were doing. At one point a couple was yelling so loud in the morning that I thought I would need to call the police. As mentioned in other reviews, the AC units are very loud but that wasn't a problem for us. The outside noise from the street wasn't loud and we slept pretty well. Location wasn't bad either. 15 minutes from the nearest beach and downtown San Diego. There almost wasn't enough parking when we got back to the hotel at 11pm.

Was asked for CC to keep on file and used as deposit. While I used Expedia to book my room so it was already paid. After I checked out they said the room is good and later charged me $100. Be worry of charges after your stay. SCAM!!!

Would not recommend. I was looking for an inexpensive hotel in that area so I got what I was looking for. Rooms were not in the best shape but service was pretty good. You have to give a $100 deposit when you check in, it can be cash or a card. I had a nice view out of my window if I just looked towards the horizon. The heating/cooling unit in my room was so loud I couldn't sleep. I had to just keep it turned off. The street below is noisy too so bring ear plugs if you hope to get any sleep.

Got an upgrade room I was told by the night clerk when I asked for extra towels. The room was reserved for two. Upon arrival i noticed towels for one. The night clerk brought the extra needed towels to the third floor room. I guess the upgrade was the largest TV I've ever watched. Watched a Spiderman movie, lol.

So far so good except ...the room really should be deep cleaned, at least once a week. From the dust files on the white wood trimmings, behind fridge, under sink counter etc are really gross dust mite high rises . And corners , the fridge plug has shameful amount of dirt and dust, under the bed was filthy too. Housekeeping is not just about changing sheets and towels, do better people, it's a nice quaint place. Rooms are huge like a suite at Days inn suites, nice lazy boy seats, wonderful front desk clerk BRENDA! Bathroom is perfect small big shower head, elegant toiletries, a welcomed touch, I would stay here again. And watch yourselves that elevator has a vendetta against humans, you are barely in and you are getting whacked by the doors. If more care is given in cleanliness, I would highly recommend.

Not too bad of an area to walk to store. Didn't see any bugs surprisingly. Mattress kinda hard.Front staff is very young and kinda inexperienced when it comes to knowledge and communication. Didn't like seeing other people's hair appear in different places where I walked. I believe most of the hair was coming from underneath bedsheets or under the bed in general. I was in room 105 where wooden floors could use cleaning as my bare feet became dirty.

I stayed here for a couple days and I had a great experience. They are pet friendly for $20 fee. The rooms are so nice and beds very comfortable, staff is nice and I would love to stay here again. I don't know why there are negative reviews here....some people will say anything when they are miserable I guess. I would recommend.

This was the first time I've ever rented a place to stay for one night. I just got out of the hospital with a bacterial infection and didn't want to get a chill sleeping in my used U-Haul truck and no mattress. I purchased a 4" foam mattress from UFO. I was lots warmer last night trying to sleep. The night clerk was nice and brought me two blankets upon my request. I had asked for a spoon to eat some cereal and he never showed up. He claims that there are no spoons for this room that cost me $160 that night. The place is a dump and are basically taking advantage of the people who need the facilities.

The room I had was on the 2nd floor. The hotel has an elevator. The room and area around the property was very clean. The bed was comfortable and the room was spacious. The.re is a Circle K nextdoor and Zorba's Greek Restaurant and Filippi's Pizza are a block away. Pedro at the front desk was very nice. Kimberly in housekeeping was also very nice, hard working, and helpful. The pet fee is $25 per night with no cap. I ended up paying $325 in pet fees for 13 nights. Many hotels have a cap of $70 to $100 for pet fees. The pet fees are the only reason I would not stay again.

Awful place, no parking spot if you arrive late -I stayed two nights and had to park in the street and put an alarm to get up early and move it. The rooms are clean and it's quiet. I needed it to be close to the Blue Line Train, and it was.

No frills, just nice and quiet. Very clean. Laundry. Comfortable beds.

The room was accurate to the photos, except it had more wear and tear, such as damage to some places in the wall/ceiling. It was pretty clean, though. There is a big noise problem, however. I heard people talking/yelling and kids screaming very easily, as well as traffic/sirens. Luckily, I had headphones to sleep in, so I recommend bringing headphones/earplugs. It was a budget hotel, but it wasn't terrifying to stay at. There is a gas station with decently priced snacks across the street. You have to lend a $100 deposit when you check in. TV had a decent selection of channels. One more thing, the room had a weird smell to it at one point in the night, and I couldn't tell if it was coming from outside or not. There was no bible!

I witnessed the management discriminated against a black family by making false accusations about the family and threatening to put them out if they didn't pay 700 for pets that they had already informed them of..Also even after paying the 700 dollars. The female manager treated the individuals with so much disrespect I could hardly believe what I was hearing and witnessing. Very unpleasant attitude against these poor individuals. The management stated that they said that they was service animals but how can the management say that when they wasn't even available when the family checked in...I was there when they checked in and not one person mentioned that they had service animals...Also it's not written anywhere on the property that the pets have to be service animals. .So the management took complete advantage of these people and treated them with so much disrespect..I witnessed it all...

Poor service don’t ever come here I was told by Brenda that the room price was 145 $ all together to get the room when I got to the room it she added an extra 100$ out of nowhere she was rude and Racially profiled us by adding an extra fee for no reason !!

Everything was perfect with the cleaning staff, the maids are very friendly, they are attentive to whatever is needed, Carmen, the maintenance person, Yome, Victor and Litzy are extremely friendly, but there was a very embarrassing bad moment with an employee named Geovanny He is an extremely rude, arrogant person. He told us that he was the owner and that he could fire us when he said he is very demanding and fights for everything. He does his job reluctantly. I feel comfortable with that person, a hotel with that good prestige should not have that type of employees, I hope they do something positive, because the clients will leave little by little because of this person, thank you for reading.

I work traveling around the US. This hotel was nice, was debating because of the area. But this place was quiet, firm beds, rooms were better than ok. And a big TV always a plus. For the same price of a motel6, this place wins hands down. And the staff randomly walk around and patrol parking lot

Rooms need a lil more tlc. It was okay.. acceptable if you're on a budget. We had some guests next to our room. That liked to stay up all night long. You could hear them walking in and out their door. Annoying. Bathrooms need an update. Neighborhood is a lil ghetto but I didn't see anything out of the ordinary

The service was really, really slow. The room had a weird smell to it, and the toilets and bathtubs were not all too clean. There was great air conditioning though. There is a $100 deposit, on top of the price of the hotel room, in the event that you damage the hotel room. When we walked in, there were holes all over the walls, marks on the walls, and damages that were not caused by us. Just keep note of it, so just in case they refund you the $100. I’d call it a motel, not a hotel. The area was a decent distance away from downtown. Overall, I’d probably throw in an extra $100 into the room to get a place way better, like Marriott.

Stayed here for 1 night, and woke up at 5am to dirty water leaking from the ceiling!!! Called front desk, and they told me there was nothing they could do since it was early in the morning. Eventually had a person come look at the leak, and immediately he said it was a huge issue. All of our belongings on the floor were water damaged! All the front desk could do was give me a bucket to catch the water and extra towels to soak up the water. 1 hour later, they were able to move us to another room that smelled of cigarettes!! Eventually, I was able to speak to the manager and he said he could offer us a 10% discount and that he would not charge us for the other room we were moved to. Are you kidding me? That 10% ($10 USD) isn't even enough to cover my items that were damaged in the process! Stay away unless you are looking for bad management, leaking ceilings, and inconsiderate customer service.

The lady in the front provided excellent service and was able to assist me when I wanted to check in early I had no issues in requesting a room and she was very polite with me. I don’t know why people complain over deposit if it applies for a lot of hotels just don’t mess up your room and you’ll receive the deposit back.

The hotel room was dirty, mold in the bath tub, and the sheets weren’t clean. The hot water didn’t work. I asked a staff member for extra towels and sheets. After walking back down to the car I overheard the staff members talking about me requesting the items. But never received them and had to go get them myself from the front desk a couple hours later. The key card deactivated the second day of the stay. I feel as if it was pricey for the quality of the stay.

Nice quiet area, good management. Wasn't the cleanest place, but for the price it's a nice place to stay!

I arrived and booked a room for a day around 7 am and was told my check out time was 11am the next morning i was asked to leave at 2 pm the same day i booked the room and was told it was because i had checked in early i would have never got the room if that was the case it just doesn't make sense i explained to the manager Sanji that the lady i had booked the room with never mentioned any special rate or early check in/check out time and he didn't seem to care and told me if i wanted to stay for the rest of the day i needed to pay an additional 45 dollars he was very dismissive and not helpful at all... It felt like a total scam

I'll start by saying I'll definitely stay here again because it wasn't awful considering how inexpensive it was. They allow pets which I appreciate (for an extra deposit). The beds were comfortable enough to sleep in but the pillows were kinda wimpy. The room was simple without extra decor but lighting & mirrors were great. I appreciate that there was a fridge & microwave that both worked well. The bathroom has ventilation issues, humidity never leaves it even with the fan on. The shower curtain had some kind of black stain but appeared clean. The water pressure is low so showering took a little longer. All minor things I could manage with. The only real drawback I had was housekeeping. They didn't come at all on their own. I had called & asked they come the 2nd day, when we returned they had never come. I asked the front desk for some things & mentioned they hadn't come. He sent them right away but then they didn't come any of the other 2 days. Frustrating because the floors are laminate & needed daily sweeping. I did like easy access to throw out trash. Also we were able to keep the room at a comfortable temperature at all times. It wasn't too noisy either. Again, I'd return because I feel that the price was good for what I got.

Nice place for a place to sleep and relax before and after your adventures. Right next to a pizza place and circle k. Close to the water and parks and 20mins from major areas of San Diego. Affordable and clean. I stayed on a Saturday night on the first floor. Quiet and I didn't see any bums or rift raft as stated in other reviews(which had me nervous bringing two young children), I smoke out front every couple hours so I get to see what's going on but all was quiet and other people respectful.Appears to be newly renovated with paint and hard flooring. (Only miss in my room #106 was dusty baseboards and shutter blinds, but that didn't bother me, maintenance just has to remember to include this in their cleaning routines👍) . Room also has refridgerator, microwave, blow dryer, bath tub/shower and basic toiletries. Laundry area and ice machine are right outside the door on first floor.. Didn't feel like a motel at all! I'd stay here again. I can only think of one con and that is that there is no pool/spa however you could always just head to the beach 🤣

Excellent hotel. We found nothing we didn't like about it! The amenities were really nice, fridge, microwave and coffee ☕. Loved that they had a bathtub for the baby. Also loved that they had dove haircare and body products! Beds were comfy, noise level was low and the shutter type window shades were awesome. We slept very well. The receptionist, Brenda, was really sweet and helpful as well! Oh, and the mural painted on the wall, just wow🌺
